I called the mayor's "action line" first thing this morning and simply asked "has the mayor read the Arizona legislation?". Left my name and number - no response. If he's like the rest of the Obama's lackeys that got called out on this the answer is "no". The next question is then "Are you against enforcing the laws of the United States?". He's a grandstanding moron.

Neat car - reminds me of the 914-6 I crewed for back in the late 70's. Raced in IMSA GTU - 2.7L at about 300hp. I do not have owners manuals - but from what I have read, yes, but: 1) Can't leave them sit in salt water unused (several hours) 2) Must flush off and flush impellers (kit available that hooks to hose and runs fresh water through engine/impellers) within a few hours of using them in salt water I am using the term "several hours" because opinios seem to vary from 2-4 hours to overnight on times. I'm sure shorter is better, but you don't have to race home right after use...

BUMP - Update, aquired two brand new in box Exide batteries for these - will include both for $50 ($1550 total). Also started both skis up last week - install batteries, ad a new registration and water!!!

The radiator (typically) mounts in the "header panel" a sheet meatal bulkhead at the front ot the car. If there are gaps around the outside of the radiator (custom install) that allow air to leak around the sides/top/bottom, it can cause some problems. As long as the radiator is a pretty good fit it should not be an issue. I only mentioned this as I have seen radiators that had 1"-2" gaps all around them and wouldn't cool well. The air would fine the least restirctive path and "bleed" around the radiator rather than going through it. Since I haven't seen your car, I just threw it out as a possibility.

Also, keep in mind the times posted in the magazines are usually put up by guys/gals that do this for a living. While a lot of the writers may be hacks as drivers - the ones that put up the numbers (especially for the car companies) are paid to get results. So yes, a driver tune up may be in order. Second, just because you throw parts at a car that advertise .5 seconds faster for each one doesn't mean you get a "cumulative affect" (I put 4 parts on my car that advertise .5 seconds in the 1/4, sooo I should be 2 seconds fater right?). Perhaps a bit of tuning of all the add ons to work better together will help as well. -
Most of the areas along I-675 are decent. They seem to get a bit more upscale as you go south. Both Centerville and Beavercreek areas are nice - and generally get a bit nicer as you move south from 35. The newer areas are typically east of the freeway. Call these "general" guidelines and I'm sure there are some exceptions.

Interesting about the "sludge" issue. I purchased a Chevy (Suzuki) Tracker that had been sitting - fixed the "no-run" issues and went out to drive it - "Oil Pressure" light came on. Stopped the truck, checked the oil, all looked good, restarted - no oil light, drove a while, light came back on. CHecked the filter (cut open) changed oil, same issue. The final analysis was a bunch of sludge/crap/whatever had broken loose in the engine and once driven for a while would accumulate around the oil pickup and cause a loss of oil pressure. For whatever reason, it wouldn't drain out with the old oil. Added Seafoam to the crankcase, warmed up the truck and drove it gently until the oil light would start to flicker on, then stop and let it idle a while. Repeated several times. After about 30 minutes, changed the oil again and had no firther problems. I have also used it in older engines (via a vacuum hose) and had good results - certainly not a miracle in a can - but it does seem to get results as a solvent.

Yes, possible - more likely the constant vibration will cause cracks. As to the fans - Gearhead is right on - pullers with shrouds are your friend, and an air dam forcing air up from below is a great option. Also, be sure the radiator is sealed to the panel it's mounted in - air will find the past of least resistance.

Two Yamaha Waverunners - 1992 WR500 & 1992 WR650 on an older double trailer: Trailer: New tires, bearings seals, recvoered the "rails" with new indoor/outdoor carpeting last year when purchased, lights work but are older. Could use some cosmetic work (poor repaint paint/rust). 1992 Yamaha Waverunner III, (WR500 - 50 hp) - new filters, battery OK-but probably should be replaced, licensed through March 2011 1992 Yamaha Waverunner III (WR650 - 65 hp) - new fuel filter, battery needs replaced, license expired March 2010 Both jetskis have some scratched on the bottom, seats are not great cosmetically. We've had the WR500 out a few times, the WR650 was purchased last year, heard it run, have never had time to get it out. It does have some repaired damage near the fire bottle access at the rear - doesn't look bad from 15 feet. Also have an older cover for one unit and some a couple extra fuel filters. These are older units, take premixed gas & oil, no hour meters, no gauges, no "reverse" - but they run 5-6 hours on a 6 gallon tank of fuel. Cheap fun as "starter" units or for smaller lakes (although we had the WR500 out on Sandusky bay & Alumn Creek). CR "bottom dollar" price $1500. Will post link to craigslist ad with pictures (and a higher price) later today if/when I get them dug out of the garage!!

My wife's father was diagnosed with cancer just before the storm. She and her sister lived in Columbus, family in Sandusky. They wanted to get home to see him asap - travelled up Rt. 4 (in Doc's pics) when it was just one lane and walls of show on both sides. In town it was bad, but nothing like the rural areas. The houses seemed to funnel a lot of the wind so some streets in town weren't all that bad, then you would come upon where all that snow collected into a large drift. Oh, and right around this time - the climate scientists were fretting over "global cooling" and Time was doing stories all through the 70's on the planets "cooling". This just sent them into a bogger frenzy for a while longer! Thanks Doc - great write up!!! -
