  1. keep the GTO. with the money you're willing to spend, you won't find what you're looking for. i've been following lsx rx7's for a while, and have wanted one since the guy on this site (who was busted in the big street racing sting) with the blown lsx-powered, green rx7 lit me up from a stoplight in my (then pullied) '04 cobra. it was bad, embarassing, etc etc. i've been close a couple times to buying one, but never pulled through. i might just buy one this year, but its way more than you're willing to spend to get a well-built, well-planned, non-hack job from someone who's already done several of them. some guys on there like doing the swap so much that they've done several---these are the guys i'd buy from good luck
  2. holy shit, there's a cop in your driveway
  3. so that cuts about 10 seconds off the 3:00 it took the other car to hit 147mph top speed?
  4. overnight parts from GM. congrats on the build. can't wait to see some videos of the car.
  5. i'll be sure to read this thread to my kids tonight----as punishment.
  6. nice build. also, had no idea what one of these motors looked like out of the car or how the case bolts together as it does. very cool
  7. looks like a turbo rotary v8?? maybe 350-400hp??
  8. anything by dean koontz i like the 'jack reacher' series (16 books) by lee rise. think of jason bourne--just a big bigger and more badass, if that's possible i actually enjoyed the halo series of books, based on the popular video game. there's about 10-12 books out now, but if you read the trilogy, you won't be disappointed--especially if you've played the game "the bricklayer" was another book i've read recently anything by brett easton ellis
  9. thanks guys. he's pretty bummed out. car was absolutely perfect for him. 60k miles and not a single thing wrong with it. hadn't changed anything on the car but oil
  10. guys, my sister-in-law was rear-ended in her 60k mile, '09 fusion the other day. my brother is still waiting to hear if it is going to be totaled (apparently the trunk is smashed in at least 50%, and the idiot driver was going 40-ish, and was cited). 1) assuming its totaled, how can my brother avoid being shafted by the other driver's insurance company, who will likely try to low-ball the shit out of him, and not give them shit for it?? how does this work?? anyone with any experience in how to minimize the hassle of a situation like this?? his wife was o.k., a little sore, and thankfully uninjured (she's 4 months pregnant). 2) assuming its not totaled, what body shops can he take the car to, to do top-notch work. he's used kevin clifford here for previous work, and was very happy, just looking for other places as well. any help would be appreciated thanks kirk
  11. My buddy has owned his ls6 V since 2007. He loves it, and hasn't had a single problem--no rear end issues, nothing. He doesn't race it though and probably is way too easy on it
  12. the interior grows on you---trust me. i wanted blue with black interior, but my car basically fell into my lap--with an incredible price. bought it in 2007 for $20,500 with 11k miles. sold it last year for $16k at the stealership, no less--for my ctsv. should have kept both cars
  13. looks exactly like my old one, except mine was manual, and sold with 100k less miles. looks clean though. buying a 127k mile pontiac?? proceed at your own risk
  14. insert 'cool story bro' picture here
  15. baby crying?? nah, never heard of that problem before. lol. congrats, and welcome to being a parent. its a great feeling.
  16. run away from them, dude. especially if you don't know much about diesels. i don't know shit about diesels, but know enough to stay away from those. one way to become an expert in a hurry is to buy one as your daily and have it constantly break down---you'll be an expert in no time

i have to return some video tapes
  18. post some pics up
  19. maybe he can detail one of my toilets after "night out at chipotle" :lolguy:
  20. Ask a pimply teenager, or uneducated white trash slob what the american dream is, and you might get this reply. Trust me, no matter how much money you have-- 1--you can 'get used to' any income level and live right up to it--unhappily 2--while it may solve material problems, money certainly does nothing for psychological/emotional ones 3--plenty of unsuccessful people who would otherwise be considered failures, have money (see this thread for reference), for one reason or another Everyone's idea of the american dream is different --surpassing your parents' accomplishments --financial freedom --being happily married --raising a family --satisfaction with your career --charity --health and well-being --seeing your kids surpass your accomplishments --grandchildren Maybe "being a fucking tool" is at the top of your list, but not mine
  21. Lol at that mess. My brother spent the better part of 3 hours picking bullet/bone fragments out of some idiot's knee. No thanks
  22. Mobic/naproxen/voltaren/ibuprofen are your friends. Arthritis is defined as the breakdown of the protective (cartilage) covering of the bones in any joint. In the hip, the femoral head (ball) and acetabulum (socket) get damaged with aging, injuries, etc---and have very little ability to repair themselves. The easiest way to identify 'arthritis' in the hip joint is through regular x-rays (seeing decreased space between the ball and socket). If the original surgeon you saw did not comment on significant narrowing between the two surfaces, then the severity of the arthritis is likely quite mild. If you're truly dedicated to making this hip last as long as possible---- Get as close as you can to ideal body weight Focus on low impact exercise----walking, elliptical, swimming, cycling Avoid heavy impact, collision sports, etc Use anti-inflammotory medication when needed Hold off on any surgery until the hip bothers you every single day with routine daily stuff and is SIGNIFICANTLY affecting your quality of life
