  1. I love my Craftsman. I don't remember the cost, but it wasn't bad. Came with an air ratchet, impact gun, air hammer and 25' air hose. Everything has worked flawlessly for me. I use it pretty lightly though, not like a real shop would.
  2. Even a little bit of drama is too much for me. It's a shame he's dragging his daughter into this, but sounds like you're better off having him not talk to you. I'll bet as soon as he needs something else he comes around and starts talking to you.
  3. Since it is only one cylinder it's probably not timing or air. Spark or fuel are next. If neither of those are the problem then try a compression test, could be a sticking valve not allowing compression.
  4. Sounds like you've checked the basics, fuel, fire, air. Not something stupid like a cruddy, plugged up air filter is it? Also could check at the injector with a noid light to make sure the injectors are firing. If not one of those then timing is really the only other thing I know to look for.
  5. RS? I have no idea on that one. The only letter prefixes I know of are FX, FL and XL. I recommend getting the VIN and running that to find out exactly what it is.
  6. Gone. Wheezle stopped by this afternoon and picked it up.
  7. I thought about snagging that NX kit and the accessory kit, but I hate to drop that kind of money without doing some research. I think I'd rather do direct port anyhow.
  8. http://media.youdrivewhat.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/car5101.jpg Was this the car from the movie "Corvette Summer"?
  9. Justin called dibs but hasn't picked it up yet. It's free for the first person who shows up and wants it, or goes in the trash Tuesday night for the pickup Wednesday AM. Nah, Carol didn't like it. The cover is yellowed from being old. I tried to find a replacement, but struck out. Turns out my dad had stashed a new one in the basement, so I put that one up to replace it. I would have rather put up something that looked a little nicer since I was doing all the work, but that's what she wanted. Since she's doing all the work to repaint she gets what she wants.
  10. Crap! Forgot all about this. Was planning on being there. Oh well.
  11. ^^^^ This .... it's like a train wreck, I just can't turn away.
  12. I've been following a number of articles in the news lately about the for profit colleges (DeVry and ITT to name a couple). Issues like how much of the government grant money their students soak up to be paid to a business. Also interesting is how low the graduation rates are, and the quality of the education. Should students be able to get government grant money for them? Ooops, just saw you already picked a topic. Good luck.
  13. 4' 2-40 watt bulb fixture, no bulbs. Girlfriend repainted the laundry room and the cover was dirty/ugly so I put up a new one. There is nothing wrong with this one except it's ugly and I don't have a use for it. Come get it. I'll hang on to it until Tuesday night (trash comes Wednesday).
  14. Are we talking about 2 pieces just tacked together? If it is something simple I may be able to do it for you especially if you can bring it to my place. Can it be driven without being welded?
  15. Damn, looks like fun was had by all. Wish I had made it. I had the trip of shame back to Columbus with my car on a trailer. Didn't even make it to the track and broke it.
  16. We saw it at a rest stop headed toward Dayton. We were on our way to the Museum to sit in on a lecture by a guy named Paul Metz. http://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/factsheets/factsheet.asp?id=16168 ____ Mr. Paul Metz Posted Printable Fact Sheet Photos Wings & Things Guest Lecture Download HiRes "From Weasels to Raptors: A Test Pilot's Story" Nov. 17, 2010 - 7:30 p.m. In March 2008 Paul Metz joined Rocketplane Global as vice president and chief test pilot. He is responsible for the pilot-vehicle interface to include the cockpit, flying qualities, life support, spacecraft operational profiles and procedures, crew and passenger training and execution of test and operational flights. He previously served on Lockheed Martin's F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program and was named the vice president for integrated test and evaluation (flight test). He was responsible for a 1,600-person, $750 million flight test organization for the USAF, USN, USMC and seven other countries. He served in this capacity until his retirement in February 2006. He served as Lockheed Martin's chief test pilot for the F-22 Advanced Tactical Fighter from 1992-2001 and made the first flight on the F-22A Raptor on Sept. 7, 1997. He and a staff of test pilots worked closely with the engineers on subsystem design, flying qualities, simulation, avionics, cockpit layout and man-machine interface. Prior to joining Lockheed Martin, he was an engineering test pilot and chief test pilot for Northrop Aircraft for 12 years and served 12 years in the U.S. Air Force as a fighter pilot and test pilot. Metz joined Northrop Aircraft in 1980 as an engineering test pilot. He conducted flight tests on the F-5E/F, the F-20 and the Antonov Colt, a Russian biplane. In October 1985, he was appointed chief test pilot for Northrop Aircraft and was responsible for flight tests of the F-20 Tigershark, the RF-5E Tiger Eye reconnaissance aircraft, the F-86F Saber and other programs. He and his staff of test pilots worked closely with the engineers in the detailed design of the YF-23, the Northrop-McDonnell Douglas entrant in the Advanced Tactical Fighter (ATF) prototype program. He made the first flight of the YF-23A ATF in August 1990. He continued to test the F-22 at Edwards AFB, expanding the flight envelope to maximum speeds, Gs, altitudes and angles of attack. He subsequently spent two years as an engineering test pilot on the B-2 bomber program prior to leaving Northrop to become Lockheed Martin's chief test pilot for the F-22 Advanced Tactical Fighter. Metz entered the USAF in 1968 and flew operational missions in the F-105G Wild Weasel in the U.S. and Southeast Asia. He flew 68 missions over North Vietnam and took part in the pivotal "12 Days of Christmas" raids in December 1972. His combat day and night missions against surface-to-air missiles and anti-aircraft gun sites in support of strike missions in North Vietnam earned him two Distinguished Flying Crosses and six Air Medals. In 1976 he was a distinguished graduated from the USAF Test Pilot School at Edwards AFB and he remained at Edwards AFB conducting avionics, flying qualities, engine and flutter tests on the F-5E/F. In 1978 he became an instructor pilot at the U.S. Navy Test Pilot School at Patuxent River, Md. Metz was born in Springfield, Ohio, in January 1946. He received a bachelor's degree in aeronautical and astronautical engineering from The Ohio State University, Summa Cum Laude, in 1968. His graduate studies have been in aeronautical engineering at Ohio State and California State University, Fresno, and aviation safety at the Naval Post Graduate School, Monterey, Calif. He is a Fellow and past-president of the Society of Experimental Test Pilots. In 1992 he received the Kincheloe Award, the test pilot profession's highest award, for his flight testing of the YF-23 Advanced Tactical Fighter prototype. In 2002 he was enshrined in the Aerospace Walk of Honor at Lancaster, Calif., the gateway to the USAF Flight Test Center. In 2008 he was inducted into the USAF Gathering of Eagles. He has written numerous articles on the flight test of modern fighter aircraft. He has over 7,000 hours and more than 37 years of experience flying 70 aircraft types including the F-86, F-105, F-4, F-5, F-15, F-20, YF-23 and F-22. Paul is married and has three sons.
  17. It seems some are having a difference of opinion. As for me .... I like it.
  18. So, this friend of your mom's friend ... does she have the title to the SUV? If she does not have the title, I'm not sure how she could sell it to you? And if he comes back, can he still lay claim to the SUV? Way too many questions than need answered. I'd walk away unless there are some solid answers. The only thing I can think of would be to call the police and ask.
  19. It's not exactly what you're talking about, but we offer an adult education welding class at my school. We're just across the border in Madison county on 42 south of Plain City. The class is normally 3 evenings a week for maybe 4 weeks. Bill covers stick and MIG welding mostly, but will also do TIG welding. I spent most of my time in the class with the MIG welder because I figured that is what I would end up using most. But I've been debating on taking the class again and trying out TIG welding. As part of the class we ended up using some of the other tools in the shop, plasma cutter, bandsaw, punch, etc... If anyone is interested I'll post the information. The class is a few hundred to take, but if you keep busy you will burn up a lot of materials, wire, gas, etc... If anyone is interested I'll get the details for the next class and post them up.
  20. That sucks. A feud like this never ends well. Yeah, there are a lot of things you could do to the person, or his car. My problem with this is law enforcement won't do anything about it. If you retaliate you may get caught. If you don't then he will retaliate back. This is already going to cost you money. How much is it worth to you to "win" this feud? I guess there are things you could do that are not destructive, but would drive him crazy. Dead fish under his seat, or better yet inside his door panel. Something nasty smelling on the exhaust manifold. In theory not offensive enough to warrant retaliation on his end, but still nasty to deal with.
  21. I doubt he'll bother responding, at least he'd be smart just to put it behind him. I like the Cleveland response though. Well done.
  22. Hmmm, a fast street car. Since it really comes down to deffinition .... Street car - anything I would daily drive and not bitch too much about being stuck in traffic on a hot day. I still have A/C and radio, power windows. I'm putting in a twin disk clutch to try and keep the street manners. I'm at 13 flat right now, I think 10s will be doable long term, but I doubt I'll be happy with that.
  23. With the schools getting dropped from 5 snow days to 3 days I'll take a little less snow. I hate making them up at the end of the year when the weather is nice.
  24. Well, count me out guys. Got half way there and something didn't feel right. One of the front caliper bolts came out. Truck and trailor are on the way to get me. Good luck everyone.
  25. I'll be rolling out a little later. Hope you guys pack the long johns. That early will be freezing.
