  1. Anyone want to do this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=KYHh6VW_8Nc#!
  2. Depends on who is running it. NASA has it open in the beginning of the season then closes it later. It is easier and safer to pass for HPDE groups with it closed. They red flagged the end of one of our sessions for pratice, I missed the first red flag and did another corner along with some others, we were used as examples.
  3. Went to Mid Ohio with NASA and did the HPDE Group 4 thing. Weather was poor, raining all of Saturday. These are from Sunday when it finally dried up a little. I was dive bombed in turn 1 by a GTR, pretty sweet. After the pass he slide through turn 1 a few times. Then the second part I go off, it was the first session and the track was wet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ci5as4qnSds&feature=youtu.be Here is later on Sunday if you want to critique my lines. I was only doing about 80%, first time this season out and there was some traffic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dPoXQHrLoO4
  4. +1 to that. It is also illegal to burn pressure treated wood in all 50 states. The aresenic does not get destroyed and remains in the ashes. 1 tablespoon of ash is enough to kill a person.
  5. I am not sure what you mean by regional, but just the normal NASA HPDE, TT and race weekend. It is free to get in and if you bring a helmet you can talk with people and go for rides in certain groups.
  6. Anyone heading up for the NASA event? I will be there in the blue MR2 (usually the only MR2 there). Das Borgen (Rich) is going in his silver M3 and Ben in his red M3.
  7. Original movie was very slow by today's movie standards and a remake would be different. That chase was ok in the fact it was done at a slower pace, no crazy music, good driving, some hits and such. I don't think a car that low would flip that easy.
  8. That is a horrible song.
  9. I have seen them on DYI shows. Looks like freon tanks hooked together. Seems to be a bit over a $1.25 a foot to do it. R-7 at 1 inch is sweet! For $300 you will have twice what you need. http://www.conservationmart.com/p-776-polyurethane-spray-foam-kit-200-board-foot.aspx?utm_source=google&utm_medium=Product_Search&utm_campaign=google_base http://www.conservationmart.com/p-774-2-part-polyurethane-foam-kit-15-board-feet.aspx?utm_source=google&utm_medium=Product_Search&utm_campaign=google_base http://www.sprayfoamdirect.com/products/spray-foam-kits/foam-it-202-polyurethane-spray-foam-kit-detail
  10. I bought the LG 65W5600 smart 65" 3D LED LCD TV at 120hz. It has passive 3d. I hate active, those glasses, batteries, flickering shutters. Passive only has glasses, they cost $15 each or free from a 3D movie place. My only complaint is when the screen goes 100% black, there is some bleed through around the edges. It does dimming black and things look fine, even dark shows that have space scenes. My 42" plasma has better blacks, but it also uses a lot more energy, get really warm and I wanted a good TV, low energy, and little heat (not good AC in that room). To original OP: Projectors rule size wise, but they have to warm up, don't have tuners, require a screen ($200-$600+ depending on what you get), and the bulbs burn out (might take 5 years) and cost $300 or so. Big Plasma: Easy to turn on, has tuner, crisp colors, no fan noise, no bulbs, easier to install. Also depends on how far you sit. I have a 65" and sitting 15' is fine. Sitting 8' away is sweet! http://www.adamdaley.com/max/house/tvstand/DSC_4810.jpg
  11. 100% disagree, it worked for me. Forced me to keep good grades and do less troubling things. Agreed with what is said above. As an educator we see kids play off divorced parents all the time. One parent is the "good" parent, basically lets kids get away with anything. One parent is the "bad" who cares, grounds, holds kids accountable. She needs to serve her sentence. Mom should not have let her leave to grandma's in the first place. Mom needs to be grounded.
  12. And that is all you will see through turns! I am excited about this. I am for the "eyeballs out the ear" turns in a car. Road course track days rule, 20 min of driving fun. I don't understand drag racing, lasts less time then a good orgasm. That is my opinion and many of you enjoy it, that is fine. My little MR2 turbo had 177whp, weighs 2900lbs with me, gas, and it is a blast to drive around! She now has 200whp and is a total blast on the street, turns, and cruising. http://www.adamdaley.com/max/mr2/carshow/IMG_2573.JPG
  13. I don't understand this thinking or your data. We were looking at an A5 with 17k miles, she only puts 7-10k on a car a year, she is keeping the civic for city, mall and bad weather driving. Maybe a DD is the wrong term, more like a DD 70% of the time. She makes 3x my salary, if she wants a $40k car as a gift for going to school and studying her ass off the past 15 years, that is fine with me, she earned it. Autos to us feel disconnected. Sticks are more fun and one feels connected to the engine better. We all have our preferences. Many guys on here love Mustangs, especially the ones from the 90's. Personally I don't like them. My parents had a 1990 5.0 auto. It was slow, handled poorly on turns, and was heavy. The is my personal feeling and many people feel different. You like driving an auto as does 90% of the population and that is fine.
  14. Wife went out in 2003 and bought a new Civic stick, she could not drive stick but wanted to learn. Since then she has lived in Canada, NYC and Long Island (think Sawmill Pkwy everywhere), commuted to OSU. Sticks suck in NYC and Long Island traffic where it takes 30 min to go 2 miles, but autos make a car so lifeless. We drove a stick A3/A5 and auto Genesis 2.0, A4 and G37. I romp on the gas going into a turn, and the autos would downshift and start to pull after the turn (I guess I need to stomp sooner). Once you learn to leave a small space in traffic, a stick is not bad in Columbus "traffic" if you want to call it traffic. We have a 03 Civic and Element and a 91 MR2, all stick. I love to drive, I love to be connected with the car, even an Element. I have never owned an auto and to us, you loose that "connected" feel in an auto, even autos with "sport" mode is not a stick. Jones's car sounds like a good deal, hopped up a bit, taken care of, S model, but we want a stick. I understand how paddles are better on a track, but the wife would never let me take a $45k car to the track (MR2 goes, but that is $5k).
  15. What is a DSG? I would be interested in the car, but has to be a manual.
  16. I have posted a lot of pictures of my remodeling. Well, the living room is almost done. Finally got a TV stand built to replace the shitty Cragslist one we had for 5 years. Started it in April, but then life (house and marriage) got in the way. Specs: -Solid Maple except the inside shelves are 3/4 ply -Dark brown dye finish -Sprayed on the poly finish -Rabbit and pocket joints -Dado top to hide end grain -Cushion stops for doors -Glass is from Franklin Glass in German Village -Hidden holes for wire runs (I hate wires drapped all over the floor behind it) -About $275 in materials Old: http://www.adamdaley.com/max/house/lr1.jpg New: http://www.adamdaley.com/max/house/tvstand/DSC_4810.jpg http://www.adamdaley.com/max/house/tvstand/DSC_4803.jpg http://www.adamdaley.com/max/house/tvstand/DSC_4805.jpg Also installed some in-wall speakers. I picked up the Axiom speakers and they sound great. I will get a full surround later, need to let the wife warm up to these first. http://www.adamdaley.com/max/house/tvstand/DSC_4806.jpg Also replaced my cardboard fireplace doors with some real ones, easy to install myself: http://www.adamdaley.com/max/house/tvstand/DSC_4811.jpg
  17. It will be a DD for her, but that is only a 6 mile commute to work. We are keeping the 03 civic, for bad weather and such or heading to malls. We will end up with 4 vehicles for the 2 of us. I like the idea of the S5, but since it is for her (70% of the time) and I want to be as cheap as possible while keeping her happy, the A5 seems to be a better way. We are going there today to talk prices.
  18. I just got a smart TV and ditched cable. I have Netflix and Hulu Plus. I don't watch Hulu, the wife does for her Grey's and Desperate Housewives. I am not a fan of it. There is a 1:30 commercial in then beginning and then a 30 sec commercial every 6 min throughout the show. Good stuff about it, you can watch new shows the day after they are shown. They seem to have about 80% of prime time stuff from the big companies (SNL is on there). No Walking Dead. Their regular Hulu stuff is not available on the smart tv. Netflix streaming is good for streaming things, their streaming movies suck. Wife and I are watching Bones and I watch Top Gear and MacGyver currently. They also have Walking Dead, Lost, 24, Mad Men, Dexter and others. Try Hulu for a month. Honestly, I don't live around my TV, so I can't sit down and follow a show a whole season. That is where Netflix comes in. Watch a whole season, or series in a few weeks or months.
  19. Looked at the 335i, while I like the performance, the car has bland styling, not a head turner. She is really leaning towards that red coupe A5 stick v6. I am too, as I would rather have a few more ponies stock then chip a newer car. An S5 would be sweet, but anything around $40k has a fair amount of miles on it and new they are over $60k. I think I found 3 in 200 miles of here in stick.
  20. Not sure how much she would be into a tune on the cars. Is it easy to mod the 2.0T? Any reading material or other info on that? Drove a 2.0T Genesis coupe auto. Slow as shit and not impressed at all. Found a stick 6 cylinder, but it is 30 min away. Might hit that up tomorrow alone.
