  1. According to the TSB I found on AllData for your vehicle, it looks like you are shit out of luck for anything free now. Looks like you could still file for some kind of secondary warranty gig, but it is a huge jumbled mess of confusing wording. Might just be easier to fix yourself in the long run. "(Filler neck symptoms and effected vehicles/areas)....If this occurs on your vehicle within 10 years of the date when your vehicle was originally placed in service or 120,000 miles, whichever occurs first, the condition will be repaired for you at no charge."
  2. What in the actual fuck? How in the hell could you even do this shit? This guy needs to be killed in the most inhumane and drawn out way possible. Nothing else to even say to this.
  3. Well, hopefully no one here bought the '07 classic at jack maxton...I sure as hell didn't look for that..oops
  4. Not sure if the setup would be the same, but I know a lot of V8 Chevy Trailblazers/Silverados/GMC Sierra, Etc.have issues with the Purge/Vent Solenoids and just the "EVAP" system in general. If you have a check engine light on I'd recommend getting the code pulled to see what it is, and post it here. IIRC the codes are between P0440-P0459, but in my experience it is usually P0441, P0442 and P0443 that I see in GM vehicles. I had an '07 Silverado with a 5.3 and ran into this issue, fixed the solenoids and canister vent valve, and it made the odors go away. Another issue I commonly ran into was the fuel pump nozzle would shut off if I was filling up with it all the way in and on "auto" I would have to hold it at the very edge until one day it would only let me do 10 cents at a time. Talk about a breaking point.... I'm sure Cordell or someone who has a much better knowledge of GM products in general will step in here and give a few better ideas.
  5. Nice! First one made me extremely dizzy for some reason.
  6. "Ermahgerd the tires are sliding, let me just crank the wheel even furver, that will shirley make it stahp."
  7. General rule of thumb, if you are going too fast to not be able to stay in your own fucking lane, you shouldn't be going that fast. Even then.... No sympathy for dumb shits like this. I actually hope the insurance doesn't pay.
  8. Gonna try to make it after I do a laundry list of things to the Soupbrah. May rustle a few domestic jimmies :gabe: Will attend sawmill though. Anyone want to grab food before sawmil?
  9. Maybe the chicken wire can tag along too for cosmetic looks?
  10. What's the going rate to test and tune?
  11. BRB. Calling on taxpayers to wipe my ass and support me through school. I'm sure you won't mind knowing that I would spend your tax dollars you are giving me with your paycheck on beer and car parts, would you? :dumb: And here all along I thought one IMS2 was enough?
  12. I should have added in a few more words..I'm taking joy in the education and learning new things, but having to write a check close to 5 figures every 5-6 months is the not so joyful part. But now that I'm thinking about it, possibly the joy is knowing I won't have to pay back loans like some other people will lol.
  13. Watch this all the way to avoid jimmie rustle.
  14. Just odd someone would say it was a rebuilt 5.3, when in reality it could be an LS2 lol. If that's the case someone got lucky as hell.
  15. Block casting number should be on the back of the engine, on what would be the drivers said IIRC. It will at least tell you if it's an LQ, 5.3, LS, etc. LQ blocks are the same between 4's and 9's though.
  16. 243 and 799 are the same heads, and to the best of my knowledge some 243 heads came factory on 5.3's.
  17. I was going to say pull a head, but I was saving that for last...lol. Most truck motors don't get torn apart and tinkered with like an LS motor would. But who knows hahah
  18. Also, another reference stated 4.8/5.3 99+ blocks used a 12561358 casting number. LQ motors 98+ used 12573581 and 12577184, neither of these should dictate between LQ4 or LQ9 as far as I know.
  19. Heads would be tell tale. Can go from there deciding if it is LQ4/9. Also, the previous numbers I posted seem to be correct according to two different sites.
  20. What are the head casting numbers? If they are factory heads If my memory is right 035- 2001-2004 LQ9 873- 1999-2001 LQ4 317- 2001/2002+ LQ4 and LQ9 862, 706, 799 are all 4.8/5.3 heads I believe. Could be more, just those I remember. I'll do research to confirm.
  21. So, who is going to pay for this again? Aside from the YouTube commercials.
  22. This was one of the only complaints I had with the vehicle, I like having a little room. If I remember right I also disliked how far the pedals sat towards the front of the vehicle in relation to where the dash stopped. I felt like I had to bring my knees up to my chest to get out, but not everyone is 6'6". I also laughed when the salesman told me the Prius used close to or the exact same size/brand of tire as the 86's :dumb:.
  23. Interdasting...I test drove one for a solid 45 minutes before I almost committed to buying it, I was actually fairly comfortable. But then again, I'm somewhat used to being cramped in cars so that may be why I didn't notice it...:dumb:
