  1. Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson is the first book I usually recommend.
  2. Apparently the Israeli's love the idea. I don't think it's truly been tested. I wouldn't want someone who really didn't want to be there watching my back either.

I read about that too. The new rechargeable in the HD lasted over 4 hours the first time I tested it. The new LCD with battery pack should add to that. They said it's also going to come with a new case back so you can still have a water proof housing.
  4. There is a ton of great online resources and books out there. Running around with someone for a day isn't going to be anywhere near good enough. Some of the classes taught through places like Cord are a great way to get started understand your camera and the basics of exposure.
  5. Way to get out there and shoot. Good stuff man. Now you just need to get out of using the Scene mode. Practice, practice, practice.

I have three GoPro's (2 reg/1 HD)and all work pretty great. The bonus is the housing(s) they come with make them waterproof. I'm strapping the HD to the oldest when we go snowboarding this afternoon. I'll post some footage if he lets me talk him into it.
  7. Completely more sense. With so many comments it was hard to tell which you were referring to.
  8. It doesn't matter, the Republican party has become the party of opposition since they lost the office. No matter what Obama or the democrats do large portions of the party will oppose it just to oppose it whether or not they have any real justification to do so.

    Good first SLR

Sticking with the big 2 manufacturers you would limited to the Nikon D3000 and the Canon XS. For $150-200 more you can move to a D5000 or XSi.
  10. You're going to need to be a tad bit more specific.
  11. What - the nature of the universe.
  12. They look like I could stuff them all in my microwave.
  13. Those are pretty cool. I'd rock one.
  14. Business class--- These are my speeds consistently. Download Speed: 9555 kbps (1194.4 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 1443 kbps (180.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
  15. I used to schedule desktops to reboot every 5 minutes for those who got on my nerves a tad too much.
  16. I'm lazy and didn't read the article, but is EVERYTHING included in the component cost? R&D, updates, marketing, coding.... Not just the actual hardware bits.
  17. There's better places, but Ohio isn't that bad. Dayton isn't even that bad, especially when compared to places like Cinci and Coshocton. Seriously Cinci is a shit hole and I refuse to take work down there any more. Coshocton? Those boys are just a tad too weird up there, if you know what I mean. I did enjoy the 9 months I worked in Columbus. and Southern Ca != the west coast. Northern CA and the Oregon coast are amazing. I've lived in Florida, Cali, Idaho, Texas, Oregon and here. I've traveled all over on top of that. I'd love a vacation home in Florida, but I'd choose large parts of Northern CA and the Oregon coast to live.
  18. OMG he exaggerated or got the temperature of the interior of the Earth wrong!!!! To arms!!! Burn him!!!!
  19. These run in FY cycles. We've still been operating under Bush's budget for most of Obama's term so far so you'll have to wait.
