Drew- No offense, but I think the team you are paying to ride for is gonna be a let down... Good sales pitch, but it ends there... If you are paying, why not just form a team on your own and talk to someone with a bike that may do it. Nick, Craig, etc have all done it and would be a better choice in my opinion... It's seat time, but quality seat time may be an issue...

Tell him to ditch the 04. They were turds anyways. Tell him to get an 07/08 and build it. MUCH better results and a MUCH better chassis...
-
Uh, he doesn't... RD does. But, get your point. It's all good, man. Just having fun...
-
Don't get butt hurt, man. Steel was brought up by someone and the idea that flakes in the oil could be steel is silly because the drain plug would catch it. Flakes in oil are almost 100% aluminum or bearing material... Relax, man. It's all good.

Big thing is to be shown the proper line or at least a decent line (Can't give any secrets away!) and then spend the rest of the time talking through the shift points and braking points. You are for sure in for Putnam? What day/s? I might reconsider going... I could tow you in a session, talk in the others, etc. I need to break the motor in so, a nice pace is good. I can run balls out at the end of the day or even the next day if I go... Dime, shmime. I help when asked. But, you gotta ask to get help. Pussy.
-
If constant, you got issues. If off decel on a throttle blip, it is probably a chain or adjuster or both... Oil with flakes is bad news, man. BAAAAAD...
-
Dude, I can help you out. Not sure why you need to go faster? I can help as much as I can. The issue with most guys is that they are using poor line choices. Once you get that nailed and understand that it is about effeciency in a lap. People think that all we talk is race line and yet, the real issue is they are working so damn hard at running a shit line and once they see the correct line, they are blown away at how much easier the effort is... Just get with me and I will tow your ugly ass around and show you what I mean.

Craig's always a winner in everyone's eyes. So, he's got you beat already. Nah, in regards to the wanna quit and knowing they were joking, just as Drew stated - there is ALWAYS someone faster. The key to all of this is learning and the willingness to learn more. The thing cool about Drew when he was around in this at a serious level was that he was a sponge. I cannot say that about some of the young pups. The fact is that if you think you are fast and better than everyone around you, you've already lost. It may not be today or even tomorrow, but there is someone faster and unless you are Casey Stoner, you aren't the best ever. Everyone learns all the time. You guys hear me state that so many times. But, even the all mighty Valentino Rossi learns and I would say there isn't too many people that can say they are at least as good as he is. If he is still learning at this stage, I can too. Seat time, asking questions, learning, riding. Check the ego and have fun, but realize that how serious you take it, it gets harder and harder. If it was easy, everyone would be fast and do great things.

Typically, shavings in the oil are from bearings and things like aluminum being slowly shaved off similar to what Recon mentioned... The steel idea is silly. Most things that will wear and show signs are bearings and such. Typically, those are copper colored or look like gold in the oil. Spun cranks look this way for example... This is when oil is coming out. The steel idea is fine, but it is so minimal, that you will sometimes see small shavings collected on the drain plug as it has a small magnet on it to catch them and isn't anything to really worry about... If it is something showing on oil drain and seen in the oil as it is hitting the drain pan, you have serious issues. If it is a tick and not at idle, is it a tick when it comes down off a slow rev for example? If a tick is present off a slow blip of the throttle, it is most likely a cam chain tension issue (Could be a tensioner or combo of tensioner and chain). My thoughts are echoed with everyone. If in the oil on draining (Remember that you will get some steel shavings on the plug) and looks like you are panning for gold, it is done for and could be caught to be fixed. An engine rebuild is typically much more than a used engine off Ebay, but a used engine off Ebay could be just like what you have now.

Dude, you need a chick or need to get laid... If you are coming on a public forum to ask what artwork to hang in your room and above your bed that isn't something like from a famous artist, etc., you need a woman or a social life that allows you interaction...

It must be slower than before as those were expert times now from both WERA and MS... I know it was bumpy as SHIT through the kink... Also could be that they don't race there much anymore. 1:01 on a SV would be SICK!!
-
In Moto Series, that would have put you about 6th or 7th... Actually, the WERA guys were slower... Moto Series has some fast dudes, man. Sammy did high :03s there.
-
His gayness is not... Plus, he and his sidekick Neyra smoked me by doing low 58s and high 57s... Turds... But, this year, I will have at least a little more seat time there... I don't know what I turned exactly, but for the first time racing there, it didn't turn out too badly...

The deal is that they are a spec tire and will not nor can they be sold at any lower a price. The upside is that no matter how good or fast you are, you pay the same whether your last name is Hayden or Stone.

Have yours dropped yet?

Remember, Putnam is HARD on tires. Commercials will get warmed up quickly and should be ready right after the warm up lap... -
The things you need to ask are: -Am I a top runner to get the available contingency money? -If I am not, what will make that gap smaller? Better tires will reduce that gap in many cases... As for the tires and warmers questions, Q2s shouldn't be ran with warmers... But, you SHOULD be using the Dunlop GPA-211 in the new compounds if you want to be a contender. Realize one simple idea - better tires will make your chances better. Finishing in the money will build up those dollars and while it isn't going to allow you to break even, depending on your speed and abuse on tires, you CAN make it a lot cheaper... The point is that Dunlop is going to get you further than B-Stones. More guys run them, more notes, more answer to questions, etc. B-Stone is going to have to rely on Quinten and honestly, he is about 5 years out of date on info. He tells you like he's an ex-AMA pro, but the reality is that he isn't and his feedback isn't as in depth as what Dunlop guys will get you. So, if you stick with the cheaper tire, you will save money and will NOT need warmers (More $ saved), but you will be at a disadvantage and most likely playing catch up to the guys finishing in the money.

Just remember that all bikes (modern sportbikes and most older generation sportbikes) can be swapped. BUT, some need a special kit to allow the arm to clear the frame, work with the shifting collar, etc. Not all are like the Suzuki pictured. For example, the RC8 needs a $5 piece that allows for GP shift... My bad... Pic is correct...

DO NOT use warmers on Commercials. They are a street/track tire and will get too hot with warmers and through the race, will get greasy early and leave you with a sketchy feeling towards the end of the race... Commercials are cool, but for that money, you could have paid a bit more and got GPAs for race use. MUCH better tire for race use... I know you guys feel that you aren't going to go fast enough, but the reality is that you will get faster and honestly, you will go faster on better tires... Or, buy the US slicks from Dunlop and spend the $450 or so and they will last for a very long time as long as you properly heat and let them cool with the warmers on them at the end of the day... There is a process to letting race tires cool. A LOT of guys just stop in the pit area at the last race and throw the bike in the trailer... That's killing them slowly... -

So, you ditched the Dunlop idea? Power One race? If the race compound, you really need a geny, man... If Power One street, you really need to get some better tires... I suspect the former so, I have a spare set of warmers as a back up set and can loan them to you... -
One of the cleanest bikes I have seen. Professionally painted and looks like if the Factory Honda would have run that paint scheme. Well maintained also. Super fair price with the extras.

Yup! Haven't been this year yet so, wouldn't do it off the bat, but usually around June we go or for sure towards end of the year when cooler...

So, are you going to race with a legit race org or stick with the track day races? You should run Moto Series with us. Faster groups, bigger grids and actually more tracks.
