JackFlash
We need more votes. Spring, March - May is in the lead.Realistically, March is cold, April's weather is very iffy, so May has the most promise ofthe three, but seems to have the most rain. Speak up, if you haven't. You have untilthis coming Friday, the 31st, to cast your vote for the season that works best for you. . DerekClouser
I know this sounds silly, but why not just have two big rides a year? 1 in the Fall and 1 in the Spring? Epic Ride - Spring Opener - Epic Ride Fall Finale. Edit: cause I'm an idiot and can't figure out what season's happen after Winter Edited January 27, 2014 by DerekClouser
JackFlash
Epic Ride - Fall Opener - Epic Ride Spring Finale. A......maybe Spring Opener and Fall Finale? Sorry. Have the day off with a case of cabin fever. You know how we get when we've been couped upin the winter with no riding time. .
JackFlash
I know this sounds silly, but why not just have two big rides a year? For as many riders as we have total, I actually think that twoor three rides during the season is not a bad idea. It makesit easier for those with scheduling issues to possibly squeezein a ride with OhioRider friends at least once during the season. We have votes for each season, which indicates an interestin rides at different times and possibly more often. .
tall_tracy
Multiple rides seems like a great idea... using the same area and route would make it easier to plan... unless someone wants to step up as the Epic Ride Event Planner Extraordinaire. JackFlash
I like the idea of 2 as well... It'll give me more opportunity to come to one From the beginning of May thru the end of September, this year, there are 22 Saturdays. We need some ride planners to stepup to the plate. We ought to be able to get in three to six rides inthat time period, even with smaller groups. That's a ride everyfour to six weeks if we add a couple weeks in October. Thosewho can't show for one, can show for another. . .

After we decide on the number and days, I'll be more then happy to help.
Bad324
I would HIGHLY suggest not doing more than 2 of these. 1 in Spring and 1 in fall. Making anymore than that takes the special event out of it. Plus good luck finding enough of the right people to properly organize and run it

rollnhot
Early May would be great, any closer to June and my liver might just run away from home. Two party weekend in a row yikes.

Bad324
Seven pages and there isn't even a date yet.Welcome to OR!!!I've learned the only way planing a ride works is pick a date, pick a time and pick the route otherwise nothing will get done
snot
Cdubyah is going to modify the poll to add the dates. He suggested we keep it to this thread for planning.
Helmutt
If there's gonna be 2 rides, I say set one in Spring and one in the Fall to give folks a couple options to plan for. I'd rather later in the year, than earlier. The brine/salt/debris is long gone by then, plan it prior to the leaves dropping, and everyone is more seasoned with their riding skills
JackFlash
A rain date would be nice, just in case theweather man is uncooperative. .

granda080
It was all just a bit too disorganized for my tastes, plus considering how HUGE my group was at one point due to unfortunate incidents "but we had no wrecks". I think the crowd was a bit larger than expected, and then not enough people were willing to lead a group. Leading groups of that size is really tough, add in not knowing riding experience and the fact that many are a bit rusty and have not ridden much that early in the season. I may not come this year, but if I do....I agree that Fall might be the best time for several reasons. You did a great job leading this HUGE group. Tonik
Need a spring thread and a fall thread? Yes. And two rain date threads. Four threads in all, seven pages each at least and no definitive date for any of it.
