scottb
As the title says, possibly looking at the Yamaha as my first dirt bike.Needs tires, Ran good before parked ( parked all of 2014) Price $700. I think i want to try riding in the dirt with a decent bike to start out on but not spend too much .I work with the guy selling it, so I can be reasonably sure it is decent. I am 6 foot tall, and read that the seat is 31 inches. Not sure if i would be too big for this bike until I get to see it in person and sit on it. Then, the expense of getting gear for myself. Thoughts?
rawlins87
I wouldn't get it as a first. I would suggest a ttr250 or dr200 or dr350.
M_Quick
125cc sounds a little less than adequate for a adult, even if it's the 1st bike. Unless you have a teenager to pass it on to, I'd be looking for 250cc or larger like rawlins suggested as well.
oldschoolsdime92
There's a huge difference between a TTR250 and a yz250f. I would look for a trail based 250, not an MX based 250. Something like this, ( I know its not a 250) Would be a great starter trail bike. http://dayton.craigslist.org/mcy/4952413243.html

Dr350s can be had closer to 1000-1200. Already have lights and 6sp tranny ftw.
bowdog
you will be very disapointed with that bike. That bike is meant for a 12 year old and will be way to small for you.

I agree, I wasn't implying it was a good deal, and that he should by that exact bike. I guess I should have stated that. I was just using it as an example. jacobhawkins
A 2003 TTR125-L was my first bike, when I was 13. I had a lot of fun though!
