When my boat was stock, with an agreed value of 10k, collision, liability, theft, etc, full coverage all around was under $20 a month. Kohones Posted June 14, 2006 Report Share Posted June 14, 2006 I owned a boat for years. Forget what the law is!!! Boats are a liability & expensive just like a car. You want to carry insurance. Cover your passengers, cover the boat. People drown (its expensive). Run over a tree trunk & tear up the bottom & your prop - its expensive.
