A good place for lunch? Dublin/Hillard area

I just started my new job this week and it is soo fantastic. My boss told me that we go out once a month for a lunch meeting. He picks up the tab and wants to go some place where we can sit for two hours or so. He also told me since I was the newbie that it was my choice.

I don't know that side of town very well so I really don't know many restaurants in that area.

Suggestions of good places to eat would be great. Also there is a picky eater in the group so no Chinese food and nothing raw.

Jesus christ... unless your new career is as a McDonald's manager most of these suggestions are will get you some condescending looks.

Rule 1: No chains

Rule 2: No servers wearing personality pins

Rule 3: No more pictures than words on the menu.

Hyde park, M, Trattoria La Tavola, Z Cucina,

No BD's Mongolian BBQ, I guess they went there last month she (picky eater) is still horrified by the fact that she had to put raw food in a bowl to be cooked on the same surface as everybody else. Whatever, I just don't want to make anyone uncomfortable.

There is no budget, Boss is paying.

Possible choices....

What kind of food do these places have?

Starliner Diner_what kind of food???

Hyde park- ??Steaks and lobster??

M_ what kind of food??

Trattoria La Tavola-Italian???

Z Cucina-Italian???

Macaroni Grille(how ever you spell it) I had brunch there once it was fantastic.

More than likey out:

Genji-I like it but she won't.

BD's Mongolian BBQ - nope good food tho.

PF Changs- Chinese right??? I have never eaten there.

Hyde park- Classic Steak house.

Trattoria La Tavola- italian food made from scratch.

Z Cucina- Eclectic traditional and contemproary American

M: More traditional American than Z, but more unique and diverse.

Ill add J.Alexanders if you can make the drive. I used to lunch there on the regular but the portions will make you a fat kid quick... Also, The Refectory if you want to do a fairly formal French meal.

My favorite of the bunch is M. So good that my friends and I have done our New Years Eve meal there the last few years.

Sheesh, don't bother trying to satisfy your picky eater. She won't be happy no matter where you go. I cna't believe she was horrified by bd's. ALL food starts out raw, and ALL food goes on a grill that other gfood has been on. Does she think food cooks itself for her? Sheesh. Forget satisfying her. She's the type that lives to complain.

Genji is Japanese, yes. But you sit down and have a Salad. Then you can get Steak, Filet Mignon, or cooked Shrimp and plain white rice. It's a Japanese atmosphere, but the food isn't very Japanese.

Forget the picky eater and find a place that you and your boss will like. Hell, pick a spot the picky eater won't go near and you'll be able to have a pleasant lunch for once.

EDIT: For those that DO like sushi, I had the Spicy Tuna rolls there. Superb!
