If you were in the market for a full size luxery car would you drive this?

I've never been a fan until our van...but in the case of Champagne Knock-Offs they are doing pretty good lately.

I like it.

I thought I would start a new thread for the pricing (as I think I do for most new Hyundais).

From Hyundai:

CHICAGO, 02/11/2009

Genesis Coupe Images

Hyundai Motor America announced pricing for the new Genesis Coupe, starting at $22,000 for a well-equipped 210-horsepower, 2.0-liter, turbocharged, four-cylinder engine 2.0T model and $25,000 for the 306-horsepower, 3.8-liter, V6 engine model. Genesis Coupe will begin arriving at Hyundai dealerships later in the month.

“Genesis sedan set a new benchmark for the premium sedan segment and we think Genesis Coupe will do the same in the sport coupe arena,” said John Krafcik, Hyundai Motor America president and chief executive officer. “From our 30-mpg 2.0T with its low-pressure, intercooled, four-cylinder turbo, to the 3.8-liter Track model with 306 horsepower and Brembo® braking system, Genesis Coupe offers a wide range of powertrain and performance choices for driving enthusiasts of all stripes.”

Equus me, but do you think we could come up with a less retarded name for a car?

P.S. Yes, I'd drive that car. The interior looks nice, and the exterior isn't bad at all. Hyundai has come a long way since the Scoop.

I'm not sure on either account. I saw a running version of the V8 coupe at their regional HQ in Chi-town back last summer. It was nice  My buddy is their RSM for the dealers here in the Midwest. Wouldn't/Couldn't tell me if the V8 coupe is slated yet. My guess is it will depend on how well the other two do sales wise. He also got me into the ride-n-drive when they showed the sedan up against the BMW and Mercedes and Lexus.

The Equus is headed here for 2010. The V8 is slated to be a 5.0L displacement version of the current Genesis motor. Est. is 400+hp. Flies on the wall told me 425hp is the target for Emission tested ones here in states.

I might considering debaging and driving one.

I can't tell, but the badge in these photos looks like a completely new one. Almost and upside down Acura Badge. Hell, one could put the Acura bade on the steering wheel and shifter and create a rumor that it is a new RL :D Either way, it's far better than the FWD platform of the previous generation car sold in Korea.

If they change anything I would recommend ditching the vertical seams in the seats. Just doesn't fit IMO and look circa 1980's Buick. At least make them a bit more sporty or something.

However If I"m buying something big and boring to drive it better have a TON of power to amsuse me.

Saving a bit for the new Sig to be a reality?

Scoop? = http://tbn2.google.com/images?q=tbn:rmiWZ0tiXrgs1M:http://www.bakingshop.com/bc/img/DS-6.jpg

Scoupe:D = http://tbn2.google.com/images?q=tbn:kuBG__P7h32hmM:http://www.moratuning.com/images/scoupe.jpg

I like it, but I probably wouldn't buy one. I really like the steering wheel controls...from a generation of gamers, the thumb buttons are the perfect way to multitask all of the different functions without moving your hand from the steering wheel.

EDIT: I wouldn't buy one just because I'm in love with the new CTS-V, and would get one of those before I grab an Equus. I think Hyundai/KIA make an excellent product.
