Sully
I need a new jack. Mine broke last fall, so I threw it out. I need something that will fit under the TA, has an approximate lift height of 20" and will allow me to drop the car slowly. What do you use? What would you recommend? Looking to keep the cost under $200.

AudiOn19s
Cheap aluminum jobbie from Harbor Freight. It's lasted 4 years with little or no drama. Probably needs replaced (leaking fluid) but used it last night and it still managed to do the job. Only jack I could find that would actually fit under my lowered cars. Won't lift the highest but that wasn't a requirement for me. They do have a couple of sizes though depending on your needs. I think the one I have was listed in their flyer last month for like $59. TimTaylor751647545500
Cheap aluminum jobbie from Harbor Freight. +1 I got mine with two stands for ~$129. No issues to date. I also have a HEAVY 3 ton Craftsman that has never failed either.
RyM3rC
Some aluminum Roush Racing thing from sam's club. Check the open-box item area, that's where I got mine from for like $60 or something. Works great, is super lightweight, and the price was right.

It's heavy as hell but goes a little taller and is rated at 3.5 tons. Works okay, though I think it could stand to be bled. http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/80038/10002/-

GonneVille
Hard to beat... http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/80033/10002/-1 My Brother and I have that one, but the older version with the round pad. Still the same hydraulics, though. Last time I used it, it came down, wouldn't lift the car. It may have been because of the very cold temps, haven't tried it again to see. Ramsey
the big kobalt. I think the older craftsmen stuff were made better than they are today.
Richard Cranium
I was going to buy the craftsman low profile racing jack, but read a bunch of horrible reviews on the sears website. One was the universal joint to open and close the valve would break. Guys were getting stuck with their car up in the air and no way to open the valve and lower the car. The other was the guts would leak, not under warranty and the replacement components were more than the jack was. So, picked up a similar jack at Harbor Freight and haven't looked back. Less than half the price of the craftsman. Works like a charm, and if it breaks I can buy another and still be ahead.
BloodRed
This reminds me, I need to buy a new jack. My old one was barely tall enough to lift my jeep up to get the tires off. Now that I have lifted it and put some taller tires on, it isn't going to do anything.
smokin5s
craftsman aluminum 1.5 ton jack.... been great and it's light weight.
SRTstan
i have had my dads sears one that he got back in the early 80 that just took a crap. and i had a craftsman one that took a crap after about a year and a half. neither fit under my car so i picked the one up from Jegs. Fits under my car and works pretty good

Adam L
I have a heavy-ass Craftsman. Does a great job and lifts the car fast, but it's a pain in the ass (and back) to pick up. For his birthday, I just got my dad an aluminum jack from Harbor Freight. It's silver with blue wheels, has handles on the sides, and jacks the car up relatively quick. It was $59 with a coupon. Guest Spam
I would suggest against the Craftsman aluminum low pro jack. My friends lasted 2 years before it started acting up. It wouldnt jack and then all of a sudden it would????
Archie
my harbor freight jack has worked flawlessly since I bought it 2 years ago...
