That idea died back in the 50's.

 

In the late 40's through the 50's, there was a decent amount of development work on Tip-Jet Helicopters. Problems stemmed from the extra drag caused by not only the tip jets, but the stronger rotors required to support them. Noise and costs were also an issue.

 

Howard Hughes had a neat tip-jet helicopter designed for moving heavy object. A British firm name Fairey also had a tip-jet Gyroplane that was to basically be a flying bus.

 

Neat concept, but it never panned out for a reason.

Yeah the store bought stuff is 3%, that uses 70% which is incredibly explosive.

 

Well duh, or else we would all be blowing shit up in our yards! Although that 70% will get your teeth sparkling white with one application, or de-skunk the dog quick and turn em white, or clean a cut fast and melt your leg off. :bangbang:
