I'm sticking with bad/incorrectly gap'd/old plugs...lol.

your thinking backwards. bad plugs will make it go rich, not burning all the fuel off.....

a weak fuel system(ie plugged filter, weak pump , or just not enough fuel system, cause of the dumb reg in the tank crap on these you see fuel pressure drop at high rpm above 400ph, till you move the regulator) will cause a lean issue.

but high mileage plugs dont help either.

I'm no mechanic, you're probably right. I know there's a certain order you usually do when doing diagnostic work like this. I just know in my car I had one bad plug and it took me 2 goddamn weeks to figure out why it didn't run so well WOT...LOL. I'm kinda a moron though, I'm sure someone more knowledgeable would have realized it sooner.

floor mat was in.. stock plugs were just removed.. showing almost .080 gap.. new plugs wires pcv and fuel filter getting finished now.

try to blow thru the fuel filter and see how plugged up it is

I do the 1-2 shift at 6700, the rest at 6900. I was shifting at 7000-7100 but the trans is getting weaker and weaker so I had to lower it to keep it off the limiter at 7200

you have a cam though. he is stock. I think your confusing him......

Funny. Nobody has mentioned the driver mod.

I dunno.. i drove the shit outta the mach1 had some of the better times around for a street car, and I gotta say.. his car was the most unchallenging boring "sports car" i've taken down a track... matt, his dad, and myself all ran 2-3 passes each in the 13.6x range.. so no driver mod here.

My car is auto, and currently shifts at 5500rpm. Using previous knowledge and glancing around on ls1tech it seems that ls1s breathe more up top and lots of people are shifting between 6200-6500 on a basically stock or bolt on car.

Now I know from my dyno that peak hp is about 5500, so what would revving the car out to 6500 do for me? Wouldn't it be diminishing returns? I.E., you're hp/tq is decreasing as you increase your revs? Or is it a catch 22 because the car has to shift more times and I'm in a higher gear going through the traps that I may actually be suffering at the track?

I'm just trying to see what the general consensus was, and what everyone felt was a safe rpm to rev to.

I am assuming from your first post it is all stock valvetrain. With stock valvetrain, 6k is all the farther i would push it. When my valvetrain was stock, i bumped the limiter to 6200 and ended up breaking 3 springs and 2 pushrods if i remember correctly.
