iwashmycar
Came out of work at about 4pm today started the car, then proceeded to walk past it and over to the dumpster to throw out the garbage. Now from there I turn around and am like 200 feet away and see something on my pass door. WTF? Im praying out loud at this point that its just a reflection, but I know (car is FILTHY...no reflections). I have only had the car in my garage and at work this week, so I know it happened at work. My first guess was the plow guy, but I cannot be sure. He was absolutely tearing though here on Tuesday in his black Suburban ('03ish)(whenever that giant snow was), and I never looked over there. BUT, it seemed to have scratched though the salty residue drips which would have been there, so it most likely happened today... Which would be some inconsiderate fuck backing out of the area to the right of the car, or trying, and failing, to pull in. There is black residue left on it, which could be rubbery. Also pretty certain i have a 1000.00 deductible, so it could hurt the pocketbook pretty well. Doublt its a PDR job, though I wish it were. Being 110% OCD about my car, i'm just sick to my stomach. /rant http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a299/iwashmycar/Hit%20and%20run/DSCF1001.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a299/iwashmycar/Hit%20and%20run/DSCF1002.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a299/iwashmycar/Hit%20and%20run/DSCF0997.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a299/iwashmycar/Hit%20and%20run/DSCF0998.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a299/iwashmycar/Hit%20and%20run/DSCF1007.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a299/iwashmycar/Hit%20and%20run/DSCF1005.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a299/iwashmycar/Hit%20and%20run/DSCF1004.jpg I think the hit caused the top dent, and it also messed up the bottom corner of the door and I can sort of see where the door skin is pinched on... POST FIX EDIT: (in case this ever gets searched to) Charlie at CSN Motorsports in Plain City did an incredible job. Cannot even tell it happened. He ordered up a new door, and had it all done in about 4 days. I would definately recommend his work to anyone. TTQ B4U
Sucks man. I've seen your car and it's hot. Upside if there is one, is that the damage appears to be on the door only. Does your office complex have cameras? I can't recall. Definitely check out the corners of all the vehicles in your lot next week. Especially once they get washed. evan9381
1k deductible, it might be cheaper just to pay to have it repaired out of pocket. or see if you can find a used door in good condition...i did this years ago, $500 deductibe, but i got fender, 2 doors, and a rear view mirror for like $700 or so. all were in great condition
iwashmycar
Tim, no cameras sadly. I plan to pay it out of pocket. Dont know if John Schroeck can work his Dent Magic on this one...
BloodRed
That sucks. But I understand how you feel. Someone backed into my truck a couple weeks ago and scratched up the rear bumper. Waiting till it gets warmer to clean it up real good and hopefully touch everything up.
Nitrousbird
Have you checked into seeing if your deductable at 1k is really saving you any real money? I know the difference on mine between $250 and 500 would take almost 12 years to add up to $250 - so I would only save money if I didn't make a claim in over 12 years. I have never went a span that long without a claim.
04SVT
You may want to check with your insurance under vandalism. I've had some customers get repairs done through insurance because they had a lower deductible on vandalism. Some were zero.

Fiji ST
We use a company called Collision On Wheels at MAG. Depending on who you get, they usually do a great job on stuff like this. I bet you can get the dent popped out and have these guys touchup the scratch.

iwashmycar
Took her up to Dent Magic, and the quote is $1200. Door replacement. (375 for a door, with 4 hrs labor, or supposedly 10 hours to repair...comes out close to same) Trying TruePerformance tomorrow, though I certainly do not see them being any cheaper given the stuff they work on, but whoknows

Aaron
I highly doubt the outcome of a pdr plus repair would be as good as a new door skin/paint. My wife and something similar on her cobalt, and it turned out perfectly new. Went to Rife's on westerville rd behind roush used cars. If you are as anal as you say, it would be the only way to go imo.
iwashmycar
Yeah just the thought of mud anywhere in there is absolutely horrible... but at the same time i want the jambs and all to look 100% factory. They are painted and cleared very nicely from the factory, But I assume a new door would get painted just the same. They didnt show a skin available on this one....just the whole thing
