Kohones
My new Z06 has that stupid skip shift feature where you can't shift from 1st to 2nd under 15 mph (I hate that). Took car cover off (Mike)!! went to Jegs & bought the part, my brother put it in, now I can shift her normally. Radar detector got installed too & fresh mobil 1. C'mon spring and rid the road of road salt debris!

ImUrOBGYN
I always wondered how much that would get on my nerves. Quite often, I'll skip gears just driving around anyway. However, I don't like my car telling me what to do, so Im sure I'd change it, too.

I also skip gears often, but like you, don't want my car telling me what to do. -Marc
Richard Cranium
Was one of the first things on my list of priorities when I had my car re-tuned.

kirks5oh
don't think i've ever had it skip shift on my z-06. does it all the time in my GTO. my z is an '09 as well. i'll have to see if it does it, but i almost never shift to second under 25-30mph
noobiemcnooberson.
Is it really that big of a deal that you need o shift to second under 15mph? Not trying to be an ass, Ive never driven a manual LSx car. Is there a performance benefit to it?
Kohones
h22eg6sir = Not a big deal, however if I'm in a parking lot I don't want to be in 1st (sometimes) reving up when the car can creep even better in 2nd. There's just times that being in 1st at low speed it not where I want to be. I have a manual so that I can CHOOSE what gear I want to be in. Additionally I don't need our govt telling me how to drive my car. Govt dictates too much already -

El Karacho1647545492
I liked clarkson's explaination; "I paid for the car, don't tell me I can't shift when I want to"
CRed05
I didn't realize they still did that...figured it was one of those "ok it was a bad idea in the 90s now let's stop doing it" things. +1 for spring

nurkvinny
No, it's 3 minutes and $15. And yes, it is that annoying. Always happened in my car when leaving a light turning a slow left, go to shift into 2nd... shift into 2nd... shift ... damnit! 4th.
Adam
I never understood the reasoning why someone would think it would be a good idea to shift into 4th under 15 mph
