Yeah, but wasn't that always the rule?

I thought so too, maybe it was if both players were not on the field at the same time, it is legal, but it didn't specify that they can't be on the same team(offense, defense, Special). Or, it could be just a B1G rule before and not a NCAA one. I still would like to know the old rule before the change, but can't seem to find anything on it.

Not sure if anyone had heard about his, but this seems to be gaining some traction that may come back to bite scUM in the ass.

As long as Roby successfully completes a diversion program and avoids legal trouble for the next calendar year, Roby will not face a class-b misdemeanor charge.

Bill Rabinowitz of the Columbus Dispatch reported Wednesday evening that the disorderly conduct charge facing Ohio State cornerback Bradley Roby was conditionally dismissed.

The disorderly conduct charge, a class-b misdemeanor, stemmed from an encounter with a bouncer at a Bloomington, Indiana area bar this past July. Roby was arrested and subsequently until recently his status with the football team was up in the air.

Though he had been practicing with the second team, Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer announced this past weekend that Roby would be suspended at least one game, pending the outcome of a hearing that had been set for next week. As a result of the conditional dismissal, that hearing has been canceled. As long as Roby completes a diversion program successfully and can stay out of trouble until August 16th, 2014, he won't face the misdemeanor he'd previously been charged with.

With Bradley Roby out of the mix, Ohio State plans to start Armani Reeves opposite Doran Grant. Ohio State opens their season a week from Saturday at noon against the University of Buffalo.

Some new rules this year for the NCAA, a couple that stood out to me are:

"Two players may never have the same jersey number during a game, and if a player intends on playing multiple positions with different jersey numbers, he must inform the referee who will announce the change."

Does this mean that if a player wears #7 on offense, another player cannot wear that number on defense? 105 players on a team, 0-99 plus retired numbers....how exactly does this work?

"Uniform numbers and uniform color must clearly contrast each other, regardless of the bordering color. Teams cannot wear "black on black" or "white on white" as the colors must clearly contrast each other."

Seems aimed at Oregon really, since they have a dark gray jersey with black letters.

All the rules changed can be found here:

Maybe that has something to do with what Kiffin did last year...

Mike Mitchell's younger brother just committed to Ohio State's bball team! This is a very good pick up by Matta.

Cool video on that kid. He has some moves. Hopefully the ACL won't slow him down totally and he will be back to form this year.

Still one more brother in the Mitchell line, McKinley. Will also likely be a Buckeye at whichever sport he pans out at.

And Mickey is really good friends with 2015's #1 RB in the country, Soso Jamabo. Could help there.

Another family pipeline OSU has started is the Bosa's. So that'll be fun.

Do you think Urban is coming down harder at OSU due to allegations of him letting players get away with a lot while at Florida?

Ted Ginn is still the man imo:

I know there were a lot of arrests and shit at Florida but since I wasn't a Florida fan or a Florida hater I never cared to learn the specifics so I can't say whether or not it's all that different.

Murray was an idiot and his idiocy hit its peak during camp right after several players just got in very public trouble and Meyer didn't want to deal with it.

Yeah, multiple weed things with the last one being in the camp hotel supposedly setting off the fire alarm and causing the entire hotel to be evacuated.

Id kick someone off the team for being that stupid too.

nevada posted a big camp update type thing since everything has been pretty locked down. Obviously a lot of unconfirmable stuff but some interesting stuff... my favorite bit being that Ball is working with the ones in Hyde's absence allowing Hall to stay over at H-back where I hope Dontre Wilson takes most of his touches anyway.

Here's the big post, take with a grain of salt FWIW, etc., etc...

here is a summary of what we know, as Fall Camp has wound down--and game prep begins...

Offense---I really think Warren Ball lines up as the starting tailback when the season begins. Running almost exclusively with the "ones" right now, and looking good.

Jordan Hall will figure prominently at the "H". Wilson will be force fed the ball, and Marshall will get touches for sure.

Braxton Miller will be fantastic this season, much more assertive throwing the ball. In a pinch, Guiton can absolutely step in and handle things. Barrett and Jones both have done some nice things as QB's of the future.

Wide receivers seem to be lining up as Philly, Devin and Spencer. Other guys will have to make the most of their opportunities as they present themselves.

Tight ends is a strength with Heurerman and Vannett. JT Moore can provide depth.

Offensive line will be one of the best, if not the best, in the country. Backups who can play include Lisle, Farris, Elflein, Price and Dodson. Boren is a little on the small side. Brown and Baldwin are still question marks.

Defensively Spence and Washington have been outstanding. Marcus has been terrific getting after the QB, and Frazier has been a plesant surprise. Tyquan Lewis is going to be really good--just give him time. Interior of the line begins with Hale, Schutt and Bennett--those have been solid all fall, need them to be outstanding this season.

Linebackers will feature Shazier and Grant when in the nickle, and Perry when we are in a base set. Mitchell is coming on strong at the MIKE, and Cam is doing some nice things as well. Those two are the primary backups right now, as others need to step up

Powell has been outstanding at STAR, and will play a lot. Armani Reeves has come on of late and will start opposite Doran Grant(while Roby is out)

Special teams will be more than solid last year, as the new Aussie Johnston is a FREAK of a punter, and Basil seasoned and showing a bigger leg on kickoffs this fall.

Look for Marshall and Wilson to be back on kickoffs. And Philly and Jordan Hall back on punts.

the freshman have been one of the most impressive incoming groups in memory--

Elliott---STUD running 4.33 at 228 lbs...

Clark---raw, but unbelievably talented

Bell--already in the two deep at the STAR

Wilson--nothing more need be said

Corey Smith--just been "ok" thus far

Munger---out with blood clots

Worley--impressive athlete for sure

Mitchell--FREAK

Trey Johnson--coming on, having to figure out the defense right now. struggling a bit

Conley---impressive

Lewis---very impressive

Hill---very impressive, will play

Lee---very high football IQ

Bosa--FREAK---will play

Barrett--future star at QB

Sprinkle--very impressive

Baugh--future star at TE

Thompson--injured

Lisle--STUD future starter

Apple---hitting the wall a bit now, slowed down a bit

Price--looking good at center

Marshall----STUD

Burrows--showing he can play corner

OSU @ VT in 2015 will be the Monday night game for Labor Day. If Braxton sticks around for his senior season (I'd say it's 50/50 right now for various reasons) then that means whoever starts in 2015 (Barrett, Jones, Collier) will be starting their first game ever on the road at night... yikes.
