Well it was about time to get my Citizenship taken care so the family and I went to the courthouse downtown and with about 60 other people went through the process today to become citizens.

I took my Oath of Allegiance to the good old USA,they played the song God Bless the USA - I'm Proud to be an American and it did get me a bit.

Thanks.

I knew this country was going down the drain......

J/K bud congratz. I honestly didn't know you were NOT a full citizen for all these years.

Too late now suckers !

I have had resident alien status for a long time problem was it needed renewing every 10 years and mucho $$$...going a little further to finish it was worth it.

Funny the questions they ask....are you prepared to bear arms.....shit yeah ! I said... ok your in !

Congrats! File me under the people who thought you were a citizen. So are you able to retain dual citizenship or are you no longer a U.K. citizen? Don’t need to share if that’s too personal I’m just not familiar with it and curious.

Congrats man! Did you have to forfeit your English citizenship to become an American?

Dual citizenship is allowed in the UK and under U.S. law does not require a person to choose one citizenship or another.

However the questions they ask you mean that if you need to put on your boots and fight a enemy foreign or domestic you will do so and I have no problem with that.

I will probably never live anywhere other than the U.S.so its of little concern to me now if that makes sense, my kids are American and could not hack the English food.
