mikera67
Went out alone, took rt 33 to lake logan(rt 664) to took it to rt 56 and headed east. Went into Athens, then took 550 east to the triple nickel. Being a new rider with 2000 miles in less than a month I must say I did surprisingly well. I took my time, and a bunch of breaks. Dove off on 669 and got back on 204, stopped over at buckeye lake for another break, my back was killing me at this point, then rode the short distance on 204 back to pickerington. I was gone 10 am to 4 pm, rode 211 miles, several cigarettes, 3 bottles of water and 2 bathroom breaks, and a BMT from subway from some dinky burg.http://picasaweb.google.com/mikera67/July1520091?feat=directlinkHere is some pics from my phone, forgot to charge my camera again.Mike

mikera67
I didn't want one on the bike as well, until I rode the wifes a few days, now I can deal with the looks, plus its a quick release if I want to go naked.

I gear up, for protection, and I usually don't need it.I Rode next to my buddy on his cruiser all the way down to SC, he looked like a bobblehead from the buffeting. Complained about his neck for the next three days. Sometimes there are more important things than looking cool lol

I wear my gear, but so far every bike i've owned has been shield free. And...i don't plan on installing, or looking for a bike with one. Maybe, it's just me...and i can deal with it...? Who knows, hasn't really bothered me. Yet again, i wouldn't know the difference of a bike with a shield.
