Disclaimer
Well, start at the 10,000 ft view... an engine needs fuel, air, and spark to run.So, I'd try flooding it to make sure you're getting fuel, then I'd pull the plugs to make sure you're getting spark. Or probably better to do the plugs first, I dunno - if you flood it then pull the plugs, wet plugs would indicate you're getting fuel, but if you pull the plugs first, you might be able to just smell gas from the plug hole. If you're getting spark and fuel... something must be choking the airbox.Figure it out from there. And check the dumb stuff first...like that your petcock isn't off or on reserve. rick37
Is it turning over or is it complete silence(hit the button and nothing)If it is the latter check the fuses or a lose wire
hue jass
Listen to Jrmmiii! have you raised the tank recently? Does sound like fuel
AOW
I agree it sounds like lack of fuel getting to the engine.
Benyen Soljax
is there like a click or anything when you hit the start button? if nothing at all happens when you hit the start button its likely a short in your wiring or a bad starter or battery, etc...whether or not that will fix it from stalling once youre going is another issue... Kahooli
is there like a click or anything when you hit the start button? if nothing at all happens when you hit the start button its likely a short in your wiring or a bad starter or battery, etc...whether or not that will fix it from stalling once youre going is another issue...no click is starter solenoid is bad, wiring is bad, or battery is dead. gixxie750
when u turn the key are the lights on? Can always be a simmple switch(kickstand, neutral switch, clutch switch). Also i would double check the battery also. Cold is a funny thing.
bluestreak
lights on and everything no click when i hit the starter button
gixxie750
try pulling back and UP on the clutch. Clutch switches suck. Aslo make sure kickstand is down and bike in N.
magifesq
I'm voting electrical, check the switch on the clutch perch, sidestand up, make sure the wires to the battery, starter, starter solenoid, and starter button are all nice and snug. Like JRMii said there's only so many elements to a bike running so based on your comments it appears to be electrical.
Cheech
You say the lights are on, are they nice and bright? Do they dim when you attempt to hit the starter? Drained batteries are really tough to figure out, almost random stuff starts to happen.
