OK. I'm not going to get defensive here, but you seem rather matter of fact on your post so I will reserve the right to do the same. The fee for taking the course through the state is now $50. It is subsidized through motorcycle license fees. We are a "private provider" of the MSF/Motorcycle Ohio course. The class and the results are the same, but we do not use your tax dollars to offset a portion of the cost of the course. Iron Pony Riding Academy, to the best of my knowledge, is the lowest priced "private provider" in our state with our $200 introductory rate. Most programs are $300 or $350. I will not go into details, but I can assure you it costs more than $200 per student to go through the class. The instructors do not work for free, we have overhead in the building that houses our classroom, (it is not in the same building as Iron Pony) the cost of the range and maintenance associated with it, Insurance premiums, loaner helmets, 15 brand new motorcycles, (imagine that!) and course supplies, materials and equipment. I am a huge fan of the MSF curriculum. I encourage everyone to take the course. I myself took the beginner course several years ago when a friend asked me to teach him to ride. I told him I would not, but that I would attend a beginner class with him. At that time I had held a MC endorsement for more than 25 years. Like many sports and activities where "muscle memory" is needed the experts say your should learn from a professional trainer first, that learning improper form or technique when self taught or taught by a friend is challenging to overcome. Like many on OR I learned to shoot from my dad, he was safety conscience, but he himself lacked professional training- it wasn't until years later that I learned I had horrible trigger discipline. If you are going to seriously pursue something that is potentially dangerous to you or others you should be responsible enough to become reasonably proficient. OK, so why would you pay an extra $150 dollars to take the course at Iron Pony Riding Academy rather than the state? I think we have the cream of the crop instructors. All MSF/Motorcycle Ohio instructors are certified, but Iron Pony Riding Academy is not obligated to allow certified instructors to teach the way the state is. We have hand picked our instructors, I know they are the best of the best. I'm certain if you have some ability (being able to ride a bicycle helps) our instructors can help you learn the basic skills that will start you on the path to a safe, skillful and confident life of motorcycle riding. We have a really nice classroom and range, our facility is new and conducive to relaxing and learning the curriculum. We have brand-spanking-new-motorcycles, if any of you have taken the course somewhere else and they used beat motorcycles you understand my point. I'm going to give you a cool Iron Pony Riding Academy T-shirt. You are going to have fun. In addition to learning skills that will serve you well for the rest of your life, you are going to enjoy developing these skills. The flexibility of a fairly open schedule, I have spots available, right now, no waiting, no standby. As others have said, please take the course. It not only makes you a better and safer rider, it will help you enjoy motorcycling more. It might be the difference between riding for a couple of years (how many people do you hear say they "use to ride"?) and riding for the rest of your life. If Iron Pony does not make money on this why do it? I could easily sit here and spout some romantic notion about "giving back" and supporting motorcycling and those are good reasons, but a bit clichéd. We want to create new riders in the local marketplace. We want to help you discover motorcycling and then become a source for the things that allow you to enjoy it.3 points

My review this week is going to be from a band local to me. These dudes graduated high school a few years after I did. Just some troy boys who made it big.I love that they stuck with it and kept the dream alive and never gave up. This ain't your grandmas easy listening. They have a little older sound to them compared to some of the other bands, which is why they stand out to me. I love that they can quickly go from your normal metal growl, to some nice vocals. Much like Avenged Sevenfold. What stands out to me about this particular band is that their lyrics have a positive feel most of the time. Some metal just drags you down. This pumps me up, and makes me want to go raise hell! This particular album is pretty darn good. Heres a live video of one of my favorite songs on the album- Hey Mister . Heres the official video for " Hey mister" For those of you who say" I cant understand what they are saying" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSG3v0GtHkM This particular song is hits home for alot of kids these days. Its a shame how many dead beat parents that are out there. anywho; On with this.. I really dig this song, because it starts off showing of the other side of there vocal talent. I love that they can actually sing. Anyways, thats all I have this week. =)2 points

Not very confusing. Maybe just some mixed terminology. There are 2 methods to get a full Motorcycle license in Ohio. First 1. Pass written test 2. Get temporary permit 3. Pass riding test 4. Get motorcycle endorsement / MC license Second 1. Pass written test 2. Get temporary permit 3. Take MSF course and pass final test 4. Get MC endorsement The second method is the recommended method for new riders as you learn alot during the couple days on the course. Plus you get to use their bikes and dont have to worry about dropping yours during the initial learning stage. i separate test and license steps because these are actually different government agencies and may have different site or at least different desks in your location. Your temporary permit is good for one year and restricts you from freeways, riding at night and with passengers. Your full endorsement restricts you to riding with a helmet for the first year. Ohio has no engine size or power restrictions for any riders. Craig PS take the MSF course. Try walk in if local courses are full. Or schedule in a different county. I noticed that less populous counties seem to have more slots available.2 points

I made a whole lot of changes today. There are still a lot more to go, but I wanted to bring it back up so you all can use most of the site. If you find bugs, let me know. If you see something missing that you really want, feel free to let me know. I'll do whatever I can. I'll write up a full thing on what all is new tomorrow. Sponsors: I'll get your banners up as soon as I can. I have to convert them all over to this new software. It might take me a couple days, but I'll add time to your sponsorship to make up for it. ------------------- All bug reports and requests can now be submitted here: http://ohioriders.net/index.php?/tracker/project-1-bugs-and-requests/1 point

Use you can buy the wireless adapter for the pc or if you have a wired 360 controller just plug it in to the usb on your pc. Go to the games option and it will say controller or on some games it will just work right away. If you use windows it will download the drivers for the 360 controller right away.1 point

On a side note you can use the xbox 360 controller on a lot of the newer games if you want to. The original Crysis on ultra beats any 360 game or ps4 game. The programming on that game is on a different level. That game came out in 2007. Also more ram and processing power means you can play Battlefield 3 with 64 people on multiplayer. The 360 and ps3 can not do this.1 point

Just spoke with the investigator and he's gone ahead and submitted his findings that the allstate agent was in the wrong that there was human error on their part and that its his recommendation that I be extended the coverages that I stated that I wanted. He also said that by doing so today will get the ball rolling before the holiday and that it should be handled by no later than Wednesday. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 21 point

I'm really kind of torn on this one. I like some of the features (like fantasy sports integration) but the used games thing really bothers me and really shows the greed of these companies. I really have no desire to watch tv on my xbox and the idea that they're selling about not having to switch inputs on your tv to play games, watch tv or watch a blu ray doesn't really matter to anyone who has bought a home theater receiver in the last 10 years since you can already do this. I really do prefer pc gaming and I do a lot of that but I also really like being able to play console games that are hooked up to my plasma and home theater system. Moving my pc into the living room isn't really an option either. Also, a lot of my friends aren't into pc gaming and I like playing with people I know. At the end of the day I'm not sure if I'll buy one or not. If the $500 price tag is accurate and XBL is going up to $120 per year that would really discourage me from buying. For that kind of coin, I could future-proof my pc for the next few years.1 point

Change can be difficult, no doubt, but this isn't a case of a bunch of asshat's trying to make a name for themselves and turn a good thing into a clusterfuck. Casper is onto a good thing here and it isn't too difficult to figure out how to navigate and manipulate....if you can figure out the intimate details of any number of fine weapons and motorcycles, you can figure out this new forum.1 point

I tried to get ahold of the FZ1 guys with no luck. I posted back a while ago saying worst case scenario we just use our cabin's firepit. We will for sure Thursday night be burning wood at our cabin and having a meet and greet. This way everyone can meet each other and plan when/where they're meeting and riding.1 point

Why cant they simply take their little knuckle draggers out to the midnight showings to stay in contention for the shittiest-childmakers-of-the-year award so I dont have to change MY schedule? In all seriousness.....it doesn't bother me much at all to wait and watch new flicks at home, more of my preferred surroundings anyway since I can drink what i want.....hit the latrine, wipe, and be back to the movie in a couple minutes flat WITHOUT sprinting aisles and knocking down slow folk.....my recliner remembers MY ass and not every other paying customer.....if it's too quiet, I can turn it up - and if it's too loud, I'm obviously getting old1 point

Also I use Steam for all my pc games and dlc. My friend has several of the same games and dlc that I have. Game dlc does not go down on abox live unless they have a sale. You can buy a crappy game for $10 and its dlc with still be over $100 like several EA games. I can buy a game and all its DLC for $10 on steam while my friend paid over $100 for the samething. That and MS forces game developes to put a price tag on DLC. Remember when DLC use to be free. Most people dont know this but all your really paying for is the key to unlock most of the DLC that is already programmed onto the game. Its content that is already on the game on release date lol. I understand companies need to make money but at this point its just looked at as a profit value and were just a number. Steam sales are great and I have saved hundreds and own more games and pay less for the samething. If I'm going to be paying for xbox live then all there games should be dedicated servers only. Im tired of buying so called ms game like Halo and being on a host based connection. PC games do it and even Counterstrike has more dedicated servers and that game is old. The constant shit talking on xbox live by little kids is annoying. The pc community does not have this lol. At least in the 10 years I have met better people. Its just my 2 cents but I'm sure this console will sell great.1 point

This does not suprise me.... There have been talks of another fee to activate a used game for a few years now. I look for Playstation to follow the lead. If they do I don't know if I will continue console gaming.1 point

I haven't been active on here, but just checking on my riders back home occasionally as I do my thing in the Navy. I really wish I hadn't found this thread, because I'm honestly hurt and my stomach sickened. IP, jbot, and others, I'm thankful you're hear to articulate thoughts of reason so well. I love to hear how much of a piece of shit I am due to serving in the military, when I've spent the last 2.5 years training to save other people's lives. In a few months, nearing 3 years of training, I'll finally accomplish my goal of becoming a Navy special amphibious reconnaissance corpsman. I bet it was a challenge to sit on your ass watching the Discovery channel's "Surviving the Cut" episodes of Marine Recon, and combat diver training while I was living it. You fat fucking dependapotamus. Asking why this guy was special? wtf? "huh, whats so special about the published Navy SEAL whose death made national headlines?" Kyle was a chief petty officer (higher enlisted), SEAL (small community), sniper (even smaller community). A group of bikers, friends, etc doesn't have shit on the brotherhood that exists in these communities. If the military is one big extended family, then the special operations communities are the analogical equivalent of immediate family, and chiefs our fathers. So put it simply, yes, its very fucking personal. Anyone else have problems? Send them my way with your name and phone, I'll be sure to forward it to the SEAL medics I work with every day. I probably shouldn't even post this, but I needed to vent... and its already typed out so fuck it. Sorry for reviving an old thread.1 point

...I will be giving away my shitty open trailer. I know it doesn't really come close to making up for all the awful retarded shit I post, but hey, it shows I care, right? It's ugly, but very functional (at least, last time i used it, which was last year). It has a 3000lb limit (doubtful) and weighs approx. 300lbs (likely). I forget what size ball it's setup for, but it's smaller than what your mom is used to. Should be 1.5" or 1.75" (whatever the common size is) but it is less than 2". If you don't like your things to be ugly, you'll want to give it a better... umm... "paint job" than I did. The turn/brake light on the rear right side is also a bit goofy... sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Should be a couple bucks to fix. I also recommend doing a grease/repack job. The criteria for eligibility is the following: 1. You are doing at least 1 track day this year 2. You must pick it up (I ain't delivering a free trailer, biatch!) 3. You will actually use it for a while. You won't just get it and resell it within a year. That would be lame. If you do sell it, please donate it to a charity (like air fence, or something with cancer, or put a laughable bounty out for the murder of Kony, or whatever). You could also give it to the next person that needs it. Below are pics (it looks shittier now cause of my "paint job(s)" loolololol post here for your candidacy and how you meet the requirements. posting funniez for the benefit of all is recommended. Oh yeah, trailer is located in Mentor, OH. about 25-30 minutes NE of Cleveland. EDIT: I guess I should put a arbitrary "cut off" date for candidacy posts. Let's make it Weds, April 11th. I still don't know how I'm going to decide who is winrar. it will probably involve a litter of puppies with name tags that have usernames written on them, a curb with peanut butter lathered all over, and a timer.1 point
