I got down to Mid O yesterday for what turned out to be a superb day. Track surface temps got up to 100 so we had really good traction. No Lifeflights (thank goodness). After the 1 session, I came into the pits and noticed my oil pressure light was ON. Fack. Before getting too wigged out, I took a look at oil level. Check. Next I looked at the pressure sending unit .... hmm, oil seeping out of it. Good, at least in the sense I had not lunched my engine. But no spare on hand ... I head out into the paddock looking for fellow Duc eurotrash owners ... 1st guy I come across reaches into his tool box and pulls out 2 sending units he's welded up for just the problem I experienced. Says, here, take this welded up sensor and give me your failed unit. Riding day is saved .... Helping our fellow riders and racers .. it's how we roll. BTW, it was really good to see Rusty out on track ... had been a while!3 points

get the right gear... and you wont have to worry about it again.. if the right gloves are holding you back go to iron pony and get a set of 50 buck gauntlets ... this sport can be cheap (trackdays that is) but you still need to set your self up right1 point

Glad to know the real reason OR is here. At first it seemed like a bunch of 14 year old moderators and admins talking about each other's lack of sexual prowess, but then, once in a while, they say something that sounds like they know about motorcycles so I figure they must be 16 or 17 at least. Not sure about the guy who looks like that Korean dictator whackjob - they can probably ride at 14 where he's from. What really confuses me is the guys who only talk about serious moto-related topics. What are they doing here anyway? Something to do with the sock puppets, maybe?1 point

My rf1200 is awesome compared to my Bell... Riding fully naked bike I don't get excessive noise or turbulence etc... Only complaints are : 1. Speaker cutouts too small for my sena, had to use spacers and now my ears fold over putting it on and I have to adjust it some. No issues after that 2. The vents are designed, I think, for riding position on a Supersport bike. The vents work, but not as well as they're designed to, because of seating position... Tipping my head forward slightly while riding creates additional ventilation as opposed to normal riding position. I ride in up to 120 degrees, the helmet is very hot, but I'm not sure if any helmet can be comfortable in those temps. The GT Air, last I shopped, is not Snell approved due to internal sun visor. I ride at the drag strip occasionally and Snell is required, that's why I went with the 1200. Owned an 1100 before and I'm sure I'll own the 1300 if they ever make one. I'm a shoei fan boy for sure, especially after owning Bell and HJC1 point

Public record or not, it doesn't excuse sloppy data security practices. Analytics beyond public records were exposed as well.1 point

Yesterday ended up being a perfect day at Mid-O. Rain held off until the last session was over (except for novice). They were lined up in the pits as it was sprinkling but i think the coaches made the right move and cancelled the last session. I set another PR for the year with a 1:44.2. I was consistently running in the 44-48's without traffic. It's hard to explain but i think the more experienced riders will understand. But as i was riding faster, everything seemed to slow down. I was carrying a lot more speed through the corners but it felt slow; maybe slow isn't the correct term. I'm assuming this is just from experience and learning the track more. Either way, I greatly improved my turn 8, 9 and 13 corner speeds. The next corners to work on is 1 and 11b? (the right hander over the hill going into thunder valley). Those are both fast turns i know i slow down too much for.1 point

Triple Nickel was in good shape with minimum gravel washed out of drives. The only real issue was the unexpected appearances of oversize loads of pipe that popped up a couple of times. The lead truck was only about 50 yards ahead of the pipe truck, so no notification. We HUGGED the inside.1 point

Novice at Mid Ohio is very structured. Novices are broken up into groups based on pace (you are not stuck in one group if you find you are faster/slower than tou thought). Just bump up or down based on how you are feeling. (Within N of course.) Groups are lead around by a CR that sets the pace and shows you the line. Pace picks up as the day goes on in all groups but no CR will leave you hanging. I believe you are lead around by instructors the entire day (but pace increases as the day goes on.)1 point

Or, someone can get so annoyed that they end up telling a certain Jack A$$: "Get a new f'in chain because I'm tired of hearing the damn thing grind and I'll put it on!".... so I did and Whaler put it on at 12K miles.1 point

Yea, big time fear. Wife doesn't even tell me it is comming until a few days before. The Valium is to get me through the night before. Atavan the morning I go. I get there and they gas me. I wake up at home around 3pm with no idea what that sadistic bastard did to me. According to my sources I insist on a quarter pounder and a chocolate shake on the way home.1 point
