  2. It's all my neighbor's fault. He wanted somebody to ride with on gravel roads and trails so he nagged me about it. Well, maybe twice. Then he found a good deal on this mostly street legal bike that's just the right color. Thankfully I have long legs - this bike is tall! I had to put DOT tires on it, a license plate bracket w light, and mirrors - but it already had the rest of the required parts and was titled as a street vehicle. Next I just need to sort out a carb problem. The bike sat unused for 2 years. I think whichever jet handles the mid-range throttle position is messed up. And then the fun part will be remembering my dirt bike skills. It's been 40 years since I owned a dirt bike, 75 Yamaha DT400b. This one is a much more capable bike! Chris

  3. Bikes needs to be a hobby not a profession for me. Going to a job with substantial pay increase, 4 days a week instead of 6, full benefits vs none, etc.

  4. I have a dirt bike now 😁 At least sort of Picked up a set of used dirt wheels with nearly new sprocket and rotors. Spooned on some new D606s and took her out to the farm for some fun in the mud. The 21/18 knobbies are definitely much better offroad than trying to run knobbies on the stock 17s. The wheels included a chain sized to fit the larger sprocket so now I can swap between dirt and pave setup with minimal hassle. The sumo setup is still alot more fun on pavement.:D Also just got a 4gal tank delivered. That should be the last thing I need to make a good TAT vehicle. Hopefully next fall!

  5. The website was never the best and we didn't have the specialty parts on there. That said we tried our best to respond to the forum messages/posts with a sense of urgency. The new company should be up and running in February.

  7. I just have a steel cabinet. It’s primariky to keep my kids out. A motivated thief would get in easily enough, but it’s hidden pretty well, and situated in a manner that you’d have to take out a wall to use a pry bar to open it. Not that i don’t have power tools in the garage that would cut through pretty quick, but that adds time and noise. I’m realistic about who it will and won’t stop. Thus one reason i am keeping the serial numbers handy... my guns are probably only worth $1400. I may have more than that in ammo 😂

  8. Agree, 100%. I did the whole "motorcycle lifestyle career" and it didn't work out. I found you actually miss out on most good days of riding. Plus, most Ducati owners are insufferable cunts to deal with.

  9. Awesome man! Welcome to the club. My guess is your needle jet needs adjusting. Best to pull the carb completely out, give it a good cleaning and go over all the components making sure the diaphragms are not torn.

  11. Hybrids are a good option for most people. I would personally not buy one with a suspension fork. It just ads weight and really doesn't provide any useful benefit for crushed stone paths. Far be it from me to take the joy out of buying your first brand new bicycle, but your money will go a long way with a used bike. A decent hybrid can be bought for a couple hundred dollars. A really nice (used) first bike can be had for $500ish.

  12. Isabella has had timing belts that lasted longer than that Triumph engine. How dare you stick her in the corner while you praise that British POS. Have some respect and at least do it in another room.

  14. I’m cheap so I don’t mind waiting. They often beat the best price I could find by $40 or so even on items that were below $200.

  15. Why do you need to place an order at midnight? It's not like it ships that late. RD made stuff so simple. Send a PM, pay the invoice when it shows up via email... The prices at RD were substantially better than anywhere else.... Are they no longer going out of business? *nvm just saw the link... This is good news!

  17. What the fuck are you talking about? RD has been the greatest place ever to order things from. You shoot them a message they do the leg work give you a better price than anyone and send you a invoice to pay. You might want to check your meds.

  18. We were on the schedule for today, they never brought it up. I don't believe there are any more sessions and we are probably dead.
