  1. Woman Hit By Wrong-Way Driver at OSU Edit to add pic:
  2. FieldSheer Lid Pack They are on clearance right now. - $14.99 http://newenough.com/parts/closeouts/luggage/fieldsheer/lid_pack_helmet_backpack.html And Newenough.com is a decent place to buy stuff.
  3. Congrats to suntorn! .... you owe us 3999 beers...
  4. gawd, memories... Brit bikes would snap the center stand up if they leaned a small amount. So picture me setting BSAs in a row, and one snaps the center stand up and wobbles over and taps the next one, and it's center stand snaps up. And I'm holding one in each hand, and looking at a row of a dozen BSAs, waiting to fall over. And bike two is already touching bike three. Help... a little help here... (louder) .... serious, a little help over here! we fixed it...
  5. Crushed walnut media is faster. You can mix corn cob and crushed walnut. Those are for dry tumbling. You can use corn meal if nothing else is available. That's the basics. Adding a few drops of polish or metal cleaner also works, but dry is ok.
  6. Don't people be hatin' on me for knowing this... Female wolves regurgitate food for the pups. Your dog just considers you part of the primary pack. A bit strange, you're not a pup, but maybe she just thinks you are hungry. My female Shepard used to do that also, walk over to belch at me... It's a friendly gesture for a dog, what can I say... Always look on the bright side, at least she didn't barf something up for you to eat. edit: Dogs don't normally fart, I suspect her diet isn't quite right.
  7. Backside lightning died down. Storm fail...
  8. Fermez votre bouche ! Ou je parlerai français à la place!
  9. There will be more. There's a huge amount of lightning behind this storm. And you should be seeing some large hail soon, from what they say. It's going right through Hillard and Upper Arlington, up toward New Albany. edit: ummm, looks more like it's going through the center of Columbus instead.
  10. Won't be much rain. But they say a hail storm is moving through Hillard and Upper Arlington. And there is quite a bit of lightning behind the storm front.
  11. +1 Bicycle cables are thin, and will do the job. Loops on both ends. Add a decent lock. Four or six feet long. There are heavier cables at hardwares. Look back around the locks. It's not necessary most places, if you're really close by. No one will mess around. Although I do remember one place where we left some one in the parking lot while we took turns going inside. Saw a couple of kids we didn't trust at all.
  12. That's what is in hard drives, but I'm still wondering how to get the magnet off the steel backing plate without breaking it...

    1909 Colt 45

I'm still crying about my Aunt selling an old Colt 1911 38 Super Auto that my Mom used to learn to shoot on the farm. I would have paid more to get it.
  15. The ODOT engineer said that the best spot to trip the light, is to put the bike in one of the corners of the box cut in the street. I tried the kickstand down on the cut in the street the other day, at the airport, and it appeared to work. It changed immediately, but still not sure yet on that one. There is an official email address to report lights that won't trip for motorcycles. ODOT actually wants to fix them. I'll see if I can dig it out of the ODOT internet... Aren't I special... that was quick: ODOT improving Traffic Signal Safety for Motorcycles and Scooters Actually, it's written up in the ABATE article that Likwid posted...So now we've told everyone twice, start calling in the problems!
  16. Left at 7am and rode 300 miles solo before Easter dinner. It was damp and cold early on...
  17. ok, is this one better? Should I switch them? Now that you've quoted the other one for posterity? muhahaha
  18. S&W re-designed J-frames were written up in a cover article in American Handgunner for May/June 2010 I'd like to see that 380. edit: Ruger LCP - 5.15 x 3.60 x .820 - weight 9.4 ounces empty S&W BodyGuard - 5.25 x 4.1 x .75 - weight 11.85 ounces empty

I bought the Lenovo S10-2. Love it. The only drawback is the smaller keyboard. Which means some keys are in a bit different location. I'm getting used to it. LED wide screen, which extends battery time to 6 hours claimed. I get 5 1/2. 160Gb HD. SD card slot. Webcam (turned it off). SIMM slot but I don't know if that works yet. Bought 500Gb external drive and a mini-mouse, and will be picking up an external slim CD/DVD burner. It also has 3 usb ports and an external monitor connection. (for running a projector or 2nd monitor.) It was $320. $340 for the one with the SD card slot. It came with XP Home. edit: You can zoom in and out on the touchpad, like people do with a phone. And other tricks.
  22. ok, I never saw that one. I was thinking of the car that entered the exit, and parted the bikes like the parting of the Red Sea. I moved over, took off, and didn't hang around.
  23. Added the RoadHouse66 start dates to the ad hoc Columbus 2010 Bike Night list... http://www.ohio-riders.com/showpost.php?p=455346&postcount=151
  24. I took the freeway home from Dyno Day. I figured I got enough experience riding in high winds. I behaved, and stayed behind other vehicles to punch a hole in the air. Constant corrections were needed to stay in a lane. And easy on leans, since I've seen wind put a bike onto it's side in corners and turns. I still got caught twice in straight lines, where the front tire jumped over suddenly a couple of inches to the downwind side. Weird. It was like slipping on a tar snake while upright. It wasn't as bad as I expected. I expected much worse. I suspect the sport bag on the tail was like a little rudder, and the wind was hitting that and keeping the bike a bit more upright. But nothing helps when the wind decides the entire bike should move over. edit: I forgot, at 670 downtown, all the traffic had to stop while debris was cleared from the road. A pickup truck pulled over, and a city kitty happened to be there. I was going to filter on up and help, but they got it right away. Big chunk of construction debris in the lanes.
