BS in Mechanical Engineering, Ohio University a long time ago for me. Working in the field the last 33 years. I've been a Bingo engineer the last 29 years. Pay is good, 45 hours average work week on salary. Mostly work doing machine design & equipment selection for automation in a manufacturing environment. The nice thing about Engineering as opposed to something like marketing or business administration is that you aren't required to kiss ass so much. Good luck in your choice.

Don't go with what it says on the tire. This is the absolute maximum pressure that the tire will withstand. If you ride a moderate pace in the corners stick with what it says in the owners manual for the bike. You will get the longest life from the tires that way. Both my bikes manuals call for 42 R, 36 F & I find this good up to about 75% pace (commuting). At track pace 30 R, 30 F is a good start for street tires heat up to grippy temperatures. If you are somewhere between commuting pace & track pace you will have to interpolate & adjust tire pressure accordingly.

I guess I'm not into motorcycles that much. I just like to ride. I think 330 should get the trophy.

I see from your posts that you are prone to overthinking everything so I'll get in there with you & help you overthink. Moving your foot laterally is just wasted motion. If you have to think about this matter every time you shift it is detracting from what you should be paying attention to (the road). You should have your shift lever adjusted so that you can snick a shift & not even have to think about it.

Nice choice. My wife had a M696 that I used to borrow on occasion for romps in the squiggly sectors. It was much fun. I imagine a water cooled 821 would be even more fun. WOT.

Sorry for the misinformation. I had some diablos on my 600rr way back when so I googled "history Pirelli Diablo" & that's what I came up with. Maybe a new front next year then.

Don't let these guys scare you off. Here's some insight on how this group ride pace thing works. Nobody should be concerned much with what the lead rider or any other riders pace is because the group will be waiting at every turnoff for the last rider to show up before proceeding. These are not Isle of Man style/ Mach retard rides so straightaway speeds will be limited to the point where little or no braking should be required at corner entrys. If you attend this ride all that I ask is that you "ride your own ride". This means that you must be able to recognize when your corner speed starts to feel uncomfortable & back it off a bit when that happens. A good sign that you are uncomfortable is when your arms & shoulders start to tense up. When you slow down, the rider in front of you may disappear into the distance but that's OK! We all would rather wait a little bit for you at the next turnoff than see you injured or dead & your bike smashed up. That being said, if you are not totally comfortable with going 70 in the straights & passing safely in double yellow zones you should probably opt out of this ride so the rest of us can get home at a reasonable time. Pirelli hasn't made the 1st generation Diablos ("only say Pirelli Diablo") for a while. They were superseded with the Diablo Rosso in 2008. Maybe you should consider a new front too considering it's at least 8 years old.

Meet spots/departure time: Millersburg Marathon/8:00, Otsego (83 intersects 93)/9:00, McConnelsville Marathon/ 10:15. Take a look for my post in this thread Saturday night. If it doesn't look like we'll have at least 80% dry roads I probably won't be going.
