  1. Stunting in traffic is unwise as it takes longer to react to emergency situations when you only have 1 wheel on the ground. Wheelies are fun & can be habit forming though. Pick when & where carefully as they are a 4 point offense.
  2. You gonna make us guess or what? I've been tempted by what Europe has offered up as of late but have held off due to concerns about things like what you just went through.
  3. A good friend of mine did Colorado Springs to Dayton Straight through on a 305 Honda Dream back in the day so if you don't do the Denver trip on your SV you will be the one who misses out.

    Vulcan s

Back to the original but unanswered question. I happen to have a Vulcan S parked in my garage. It's my wife's. She loves it. She was originally attracted to the "ergo-fit" feature because she is 5'4". The bike really fits her well as she got the "small" option. I have ridden it a couple times. I'm 6'1" so it was a bit small for me but I would recommend it for you. It's not your classic cruiser but that's a good thing. It is much lighter (approx. 500 lbs wet), leans further, better engine performance (55 rear wheel hp), think hp to weight ratio) 9500 rpm or so red line, decent midrange torque for such an engine. The engine was actually borrowed from the Ninja 650 but retuned for more midrange torque & less top end. If you seldom exceed 105 mph that shouldn't be a problem. The antilock brakes are also a plus. I can't complain about the price for a brand new bike either. Good luck with your decision.
  5. Noon to 5 means 9:30to 7:30 for me. I seriously considered but decided to take a pass on this one so early in the season. Speed appropriately for road conditions & have fun.
  6. Sorry the rain forecast put a dampener on your ride. If it's got to rain though, I hope it rains good & hard & puts an end to salt & cinders season.
  7. April 23rd is good. I'm on a clean living kick so the hookers & blow are out. I'll bring some Amarillo Brillo & some cash. If it rains & is nasty I'll be riding anyhow. Snow or meteor shower, I'll be driving.
  8. Hope you have a good day tomorrow. Glad I'm far removed from the educational system.
  9. When I was in 2nd grade it was Playboy magazine. Glad I didn't have a "big brother" like you. Very glad I don't have a job like yours.
  10. I'll be down for this. I had a good time at the 1st annual. Thanks for hosting Sam. Let me know what to bring. Food, beer, cash, hookers, blow?
  11. Been doing elliptical workouts & bicycle mag trainer workouts over the winter just to offset winter eating & beer drinking. I will do the motorcycle specific exercises on the motorcycle when the weather breaks. I know my thighs will be a little sore after the 1st brisk ride or 2 but that goes away. It's better just to be loose on the bike & let it do what it needs to do than to muscle up & try to fight the bike anyhow.
  12. It's refreshing to see a cop who is down on real crime. IMHO 80%+ just take the path of least resistance, harassment of motorists.
  13. Yes it has sir. I got you out of bed for one decent ride & then you quit. Hope to ride with you again some day. (Please don't wait till I'm 80 years old).
  14. Yes, this is where the high speed sweepers start. Wooster makes more sense for a meet spot. Anybody else along the way could just fall in. Maybe we should have a couple different groups on this so we can just reunite in New Concord if we should just happen to get separated. Subscribed.
  15. Revzilla is a decent vendor although Riders Discount will beat them in price any time & has great service too. Sportbiketrackgear is also good. Hopefully The link between Revzilla & Cyclegear will elevate Cyclegear a bit. That would be my hope because Cyclegear has a brick and mortar 10 minutes from me that I would patronize if they weren't trying to sell low quality crap almost exclusively.
  16. Friends now became followers? I opted to not notify & the new system opted to get rid of all my friends. Wtf?
  17. Just curious, coaches. Assuming I am riding safely & not gaining 5 seconds by being ruthless and riding like an asshole. What lap times are appropriate for Novice, Intermediate, & Advanced?
  18. You guys that are riding now- Wash your bikes thoroughly (unless you don't give a shit) There's too much salt on the roads up here to ride for me even though the temperatures are ok. Salt devours aluminum.
  19. If the good lord is willing & the crick don't rise. Thanks for organizing Derek. Have you ever considered a career in cat herding? Pace depends on who shows up.
