there's two types of the flu shot, the normal one is not an attenuated virus but just contains the proteins I believe to allow you to have the immunity. The second one is a nasal spray and that is the attenuated virus which is usually only given to healthy adults, not immunocompromised individuals or the young and elderly. Got my flu shot for the first time in my life today Have a 7 month old and didn't want to get her sick if I caught it (she got the second part of shot as well and didn't even cry!) That being said I've only got the flu once in my life ( i was 13)... There's something called "herd immunity" which basically means you receive indirect immunity by everyone else being immunized because they are no longer carriers and statistically your chances of catching the flu drop dramatically. So don't worry about getting the shot, just worry about everyone around you getting it

The suspect has been identified as Charles Wayne Bennett, 37, of Blue Ash. Officers said they were forced to fire upon Bennett, who was unarmed, because he reportedly tried to run them down -- not once, but twice. The incident started just before 12:30 a.m., on Cornell Road near Sycamore High School, when the black Chevrolet Bennett was driving was spotted driving suspiciously, police said. When officers tried to pull the car over, they said Bennett turned his car around and drove back toward their cruiser, almost hitting it. Officers tried to get him to stop, but instead Bennett led them on a chase of several miles through Blue Ash, at speeds of up to 100 miles per hour. As Bennett's car approached Reed Hartman Highway at Glendale Milford, he was seen driving left of the center line and without his headlights on. The car then slammed into a Blue Ash cruiser at Reed Hartman and Cooper Road. As two officers approached the stopped car, they said Bennett accelerated towards one of them. Both officers fired into the car in response. At that point, Bennett reportedly took off again. Just 200 feet away along Reed Hartman Highway, Bennett hit another Blue Ash police car. A third officer was struck by the car as it lunged forward. He was slammed onto the car's roof and then fired additional shots into the car to get it to stop. The chase finally ended near the intersection of Reed Hartman Highway and Cooper Road in Blue Ash, after the driver crashed into a Blue Ash cruiser. Blue Ash Police Captain James Schaffer explained what happened next, "Further down the road at Reed Hartman, the suspect crashed into a second police car. Then the car lunged at several officers as they tried to approach, and more shots were fired." Bennett was shot by police and was taken to Bethesda North Hospital in Montgomery where he died. There are numerous bullet holes in the suspect's car, which police said was reported stolen out of Clermont County. Two Blue Ash Police officers suffered minor injuries. One was taken to the hospital and released, while the other refused treatment. Police said the suspect had, what they refer to as, "an extensive criminal record." Bennett's passenger was injured by flying glass and was taken to the hospital, where he was treated and released. He is not being charged. The three officers who shot at the stolen car have been placed on paid administrative leave while the pursuit and shooting investigation continues. Bennett is well known among Blue Ash Police for charges of drug trafficking.

CO2 isn't necessarily bad for the environment. As a matter of fact its a life-source for vascular and non vascular plants. Imagine if the plants were producing more oxygen than normal... do you think us humans would complain? And fwiw earth's atmospheric composition is almost 80% nitrogen anyways. And sorry for the double post, but having a background in science I think I can speak to this. If you look at all the ways the EPA has come up with for remediation, superfund sites, etc etc... The single best way for pollution, contamination to be remediated is through natural attenuation. I.E. just leave it the hell alone and mother nature will correct itself. I don't think anyone is for pissing on our environment. I think where the line gets blurred is when people manipulate their science disciplines to push a personal agenda. In this case, the "green movement" is just another way for a particular set of people to create profits by inducing a not so real pandemic. The truth is our environment is leaps and bounds better than what it was in the 70's and 80's due to increases in efficiency, data recording, and environmental legislation. A lot of people can see through the personal agenda's of politicians to create a profit off of people's naivety and unwillingness to inform themselves with accurate scientific data. Crisis will drive innovation. But if you manufacture that crisis or implement unnecessary regulations in an already down economy, the only thing you do is continue to cripple our nation for the benefit of a few. The cash for clunkers program is a great example. The biological impact of recycling all of the old vehicles, along with the increase in production of new autos far outweighed the negative impacts of a few more "mpgs" on the highway. But maybe we needed to create an "energy crisis" to sell more cars for a few companies we just bailed out that now HAVE to succeed.

everyone can arm chair quarterback the situation. I didn't see the officer jump on the hood of the car, I just saw the tape go to him on the hood of the car so maybe I missed that part of the video? But a car is a deadly weapon, so I'm assuming the driver tried to run the cop over (because the car was moving when the officer was on the hood) and thats how he got on the hood of the car and then used deadly force. Its a terrible situation, but they have to assume the worst. How often are police officers shot unsuspectingly when they pull someone over for a speeding ticket, missed stop sign, etc. There was an officer on the r6 forum that was shot in the arm (the bullet bounced around from someone who he pulled over for a tint violation. http://www.r6-forum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=89991&highlight=officer+shot&page=37 Also, the first officer radioed that the suspect tried to ram his car (use of deadly force right there). So we don't know if the officer who was on the hood was the same as the original officer, but if he's not you can assume he's only going by what he heard on the radio. So in his mind he thinks this suspect is going to try and do harm to the police officers with his vehicle again given the chance. One thing I know is that if I plan on "running" from the police, I have to assume that I'm going to face the possibility of getting tazed, killed in a car accident, or shot by the police. If you think otherwise, you're just as naive as the guy in that car.

I'm personally against it, but I think it is a state issue not a federal issue. The problem is there is a double standard on the sanctity of life. If a doctor fails to deliver a child properly, does an amniocentesis wrong and causes a miscarriage, he can be found negligent and face a lawsuit and or lose his medical license. If a pregnant woman is murdered, the suspect is then charged with double homicide for killing an unborn fetus (ex. scott peterson). So when is it okay for the government to recognize that life as a legal entity? Because right now they pick and choose, either it is a life upon conception or it isn't? I agree that there is a greater financial cost to society to support someone through welfare to raise their kids rather than to pay for an abortion. However I don't think that justifies the abortion. Maybe if we restructured or got rid of the welfare system, it would encourage people to be more responsible with their ovaries. Right now, many indigent people view kids as a tax write off and not as a responsibility. Our government does too much to reward irresponsible behavior. Paying for their abortions is no different and fails to correct the behavior from the beginning. Quit putting a bird feeder in your front yard and the birds will quit shitting on your car.

I don't take orders from the federal government." U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement stripped Arpaio of his power to let 100 deputies make federal immigration arrests, but renewed another agreement that allows 60 jails officers to determine the immigration status of people in jail. The sheriff's sweeps in some heavily Latino areas of metro Phoenix have drawn criticism that Arpaio's deputies racially profile people. Arpaio said people pulled over in the sweeps were approached because deputies had probable cause to believe they had committed crimes and that it was only afterward that deputies found many of them were illegal immigrants. The U.S. Department of Justice is investigating Arpaio's office over allegations of discrimination and unconstitutional searches and seizures. "He is doing this to thumb his nose at the Obama administration," said Lydia Guzman, president of the Hispanic civil rights group Somos America. Pryor isn't progressing, he actually looks worse with each game. I'm pretty sure we'll be lucky to get into the detroit motor city bowl by years end. And yes OSU's defense is the only reason that game wasn't 40-18, and the only reason the bucks aren't 3-4.
