I think $4800 is a little high for an '09.I have an '08 and I seriously doubt I could get more than $2800-$3000 out of mine...but I have about 20,000 miles on it. To my way of thinking the KLR is basically a road bike...it's pretty heavy for anything offroad.If you're going to be playing in deep sand or a lot of off road I'd look for something lighter,maybe a KTM or DRZ.If you're planning on long rides and some off road,KLR might work for you.

Do I have this right...you're going to take the wheel of the bike,mount the tire,put the wheel back on the bike for $35 plus a reasonable travel fee? If this is right,I see a VERY busy summer ahead for you.

I agree with wicked94s10,I would be happy with one set a year.I go through two sets a year...at least. I've had 4 different brands of tires on my FJR and none of them got over 8000 miles. If you really want high miles you can do what some folks in the FJR community are doing...mount a car tire.They're geting about 30,000 miles.They refer to it as going to the dark side.It's not for me.

What's your ETA for your fuel up at 278/33?

It looks like it would just be me and you.I just got back from riding the route...it takes a little over 5 hours and about 200 miles.River road is closed so we'll just go down 60 and start the good stuff with 376.This is a really good route,if you like VERY twisty riding you will not be disappointed!All the roads are clean and in good to great condition. If you're still in,let me know before 9 tomorrow morning.I'd like to meet at 11:30 at the Exxon on 146(Underwood St).Take the 7th street exit(Exit 155),you'll see a Subway at the bottom of the ramp,just go straight beside the Subway.146 will be about two blocks up at a stop light,the Exxon is right across the street(146). I could go Sunday if that works better for you...the weather is going to be better Sunday. Denny

I've been doing a lot of scouting for an upcoming FJR ride and I'd be happy to lead a ride of some of the good stuff on our route.I'd be on my KLR,which is NOT the king of power,so it would be at a medium pace. Here's the tentative route; From Zanesville...60s>555s>669e>River rdn>cross the Muskingum river and pick up 376 @Gaysport>@McConnelsville pick up 78e>83s>@Beverly 339e>@Dexter City 821s>CR11>565e>260s>26w>Colgate Dr>CR375>CR43>CR11>821>530>60n back to Zanesville. When we get back to 60 from 530 we can just slab it up 60 or cross the river and continue the twisties. You're probably looking at 150-200 miles from Zanesville for the loop.Since most of you guys would be coming from the Columbus area I don't know if you're looking for a ride that long...but there it is if you're interested. Plenty of twisty roads,check it out on google maps at 1 mile scale.

This thread is one person's opinion so far.I would wait and get some other opinions on these roads before I would put it in the forums "must do" roads list,but I can't imagine a curve carver not liking these roads.

SR339 is about 5 miles north of CR11(Denzell or Danzell Rd) on SR821.That's one of the routes I take when I come down from Zanesville.Nice new pavement on SR339.

Spring is right around the corner so it's time to start posting up those "new to me" twisty roads to check out this season.Here's a couple to put on your "to do list"...CR42 and CR11.They're in that great riding area east of Marietta and can be used as a connector between SR26 and SR565 or SR821.If you want a fun TWISTY loop try this;Just after you go under I-77 on SR26 west on the eastside of Marietta take a right onto Colgate Dr,then right onto CR375 Glyndale Rd for two miles then veer right onto CR42 (Stanleysville Rd),CR42 will T into CR11,take a right on CR11 (Dalzell Rd),CR11 will T into SR565,take a right to SR260,right on 260 to SR26 and take another right which will take you back to the eastside of Marietta where the loop started. I know some people might be a little skeptical about how good a county road can be,but these roads,especially CR11,rank right up there with most of the good state routes in the area.CR11 is endless medium to tight sweepers for about 10 miles,it never stops,just constant turns! One caveat...all of the Washington county section has great pavement,but the last mile before you get to 565 is old pavement,not real bad,but not good.If you come in from 565,just be patient,the old pavement is just one mile and then the fun begins! Here's a little teaser ...a small section of CR42...

I'd probably handle it the way Scruit suggests.I wouldn't give them a negitive feedback.I buy and sell on ebay and I would only leave a negitive feedback if there was a problem that the seller refused to correct. Good to hear the engine arrived in good condition.

Hard to understand why they wouldn't give you a phone number or do a better job of responding to your emails. Nothing good can come from bad communications,it puts a negitive feeling on the transaction before the product even arrives. Good luck.

I like the top one in the first set...brake roter behind the dog,dog's head resting on the rim gives the logo a more accessible tone.Less biker,more rider feel.Easy to read. BTW,I was just looking at the definition of accessible...first definition;easy to approach,reach,enter,speak with,or use. Seems like good criteria for a shop logo.My 2 cents.

Thanks Casper,I just ordered one. The Black Diamond I've been using is about 7 years old,it still works fine,but it's looking a little rough.One of the best things I ever bought for motorcycle camping.

I've also debated on that one for a long time,but I can stay pretty comfortable down to the high twenties so I'm still on the fence on going heated.Besides,below 30 the road surface is my main concern. It looks like your riding season just got 3-4 months longer.
