  1. I don't agree. Some people love to live out in "BFE". First of all, one persons definition of this may differ from the other. Many have commented that my father lives way out in the country but in reality, he is 6 mins outside marysville city limits and the same to 33. I have lived in plain city for most of my life. I plan to stay in the area but one day would like to live further out. Some people like out in the country where you don't see traffic or year noises. If that's what someone likes, who are you to say its stupod to build a house out there? Besides, some of the most expensive houses in these areas are sold out in bum fucking nowhere. If the guy is going to be working at Honda, it is way more economical for him to live in the marysville area driving to work everyday and still be able to be 20 mins from Columbus one day a week.
  2. Plenty of land that is on the cheaper side and more available on the west and North west side of marysville. Do a search for Bear Swamp Road and houses in Raymond. My Dad lives towards Ostrander and there are places out there but the prices go up higher. Plain City is great but is very expensive to buy. You will pay a lot more to move to PC than you will places that are around the area. My ranch home sits on 4 acres and would have been 225k+ if I wouldnt have bought from my inlaws.
  3. Wheels are a good start. I don't believe this qualifies you to create straight repairs on your car yet though, especially when dealing with filler. Keep in mind, my definition of a straight car and great paint job might be different than yours and many other here. I want to cry every time I have to look closely at the paint on my truck after 100+ man hours, $7,500 later, and allowing someone to help my finish my truck when I wasn't able to. Do you need 3 guns? Not at all. Just saying what I use for example. It all depends on what you want to invest. Can you get away with a 20 gal compressor? I could never see how. I painted a car once with a 60 gallon single stage once and fucking hated it. Like I said, I advise you pick up a fender, put some dents in it, and then repair them to a state ready to be refinished and repeat. After you can make solid repairs then i would move to refinishing stage. If you don't mind your car gagging the body lines of cottage cheese, by all means, sand and spray away.
  4. I understand you hate paying people to do these things for you but it wouldnt be costly if everyone knew how to do it. For many, there are alot of years in learning how to paint. Experience is most of it in my opinion. At the same time, you cant ever have experience if you dont start somewhere. Time with a gun is the smallest part of painting. All of the other work is that hard shit that makes the paint job. How do you know you are fine with sanding if you have never painted anything you have done all the prep work to? My first car turned out great, but I had a lot of time and help in the small stuff leading up to the painting as well as a lot of time with a gun before ever spraying a car. Not jumping this guys shit at all. I am trying to save a guy who is asking for advice a lot of headache and money. If you are really serious in wanting to learn to paint, I would take your time and practice with all of the aspects going into painting a car, just not on an actual car. Get some fenders and practice body work, prep, and painting it. Get comfortable with your tools and materials you are using. Maye even try different manufactures and paint systems. As far as equipment, be ready to invest some coin. Again, if you are serious about it, this should be expected. I would buy an 80gal-2stage 5hp or better compressor, I prefer Sata HVLP guns. I have a dedicated primer gun, an digital HVLP for base, and a Sata RP for clear. Build yourself a little booth out of 2x4s and plastic with some fans in a heated garage so you can practice with some little stuff. More optional equipment will come over time. Your going to need a whole lot of tape, paper, sanding tools, sanding material, and information to get started. Start slow, and start small.
  5. Not to be a dick but if you do not know the answers to these questions already, you have no business painting your own car if you want a quality job. Anyone can spray a paint gun. The other 90% of prep and experience is what makes a paint job. There are many factors that go into equipment needed for a quality job as well. You can buy equipment that will get the job done, or you can buy some that makes the job much nicer.
  6. I take it that this was a system installed before you purchased the house? This is along the lines of what I am looking for. You happy with it? What options do you have setup? I am definatly planning on a driveway sensor.
  7. I like that kind of plan. The biggest thing I am worried about is that on the free installs they include door and window sensors and panel but they are all limited to just a couple. I just see that after needing 12 other sensors, the cost of installation will go through the roof. Read it a few more times and bleed away then. Maybe after enough bleeding you will refuse to post useless information/opinions in the future. Somehow, I strongly doubt that though.
  8. I am getting ready to replace the headliner in one of my beaters. I went to Jo Ann fabrics to pick up some material but it was the shit that has foam backing. I dont know how easy that stuff would be to work around corners and such. I think I would rather just use the cloth alone. I am sure that replacing it will be easy. Any advice on which material to use and where to get it?
  9. Anyone else have any more input? Was hoping that someone had some experience with ADT since that is what I am leaning to so far.
  10. Insanity workout- end of story! There are a few places you can download it now or buy it on eBay for half the cost. It is like p90x magnified 10x. Give it a shot and push yourself hard an you will see results in fat burning, strength, and endurance fast!
  11. Yeah its just that time of the month where we waste tax payers dollars on bullshit flights and the rest of the dumb stuff we do on drill weekend.
  12. systems, installs, monitoring, the whole 9 yards, and anything else you want to add. I have never had a monitoring system. I don't even know if they are really worth it. I like those options. I live out in the country but I have 1 neighbor and I am on a well traveled state route that would notice the attention.
  13. Just recently bought my house and one of the first projects I want to tackle is a good security system for my family. Basically I am looking for everyone opinions on their systems, use of it, brands, prices, blah blah. So far I am loving the ADT Pulse system from what I read but the fact that they dont share the price or even a base line makes me figure it is stupid high. I have really only browsed ADT so far due to getting specials from USAA bank.
  14. Sell ya one! Running stock charger as of now but slap an upgrade on it with prop and it will run 80+ all day long. I think I had it to almost 77 on stock charger and mismatched prop this summer.
  15. You won't find near as many running propane as you will meth and nitrous. Propane just isn't as efficient and a lot more unstable. At least in terms of performance. If you are interested in terms of mileage, it has proven to help but in many situations plenty of air is needed from aftermarket turbos to keep it from wanting to get hot.
  16. Sell, sell, sell! I have already taken charger and fuel back to stock on my ski. Prob going to turn it all back to stock and sell it and the rest of the aftermarket to start fresh with a newer X model. This is my plan if things go well with some other things going on in life.
  17. Before you replace it, try removing it and cleaning the end with some sand cloth. 9 times out of ten they can be cleaned and last for years to come
  18. I heard this mostly 10 years ago so I am sure a lot can change. This is just the only thing I know about them.
  19. I always heard that mad hatter was the place to take your car to if you wanted your converters removed without a paper trail.
  20. Let's talk about it. Who's got it? What do you think? Any tips? My boy picked it out for me for x-mas. Im loving it but I am sucking hardcore. I have been out of practice since not playing cod for a couple years.
  21. What about the lady who lives with you and runs a rescue? Lol I'm hooked on these kind of dogs but it is hard enough to take care of one. Good luck finding it a home. Anyone looking for a first dog would be perfect for this one.
  22. How many miles? I know of one with a bit of miles on it. There is a chance he would come off of it for the right price but he isn't looking to get rid of it. Solid truck that is fully loaded and I could almost guarantee that you won't find another as nice in the same price range.
  23. I heard it at a neighborhood by 315 and 270. I thought it had to be an accident on the freeway but it sounded like an explosion. It was just after noon I would say.
  24. I have a few through USAA. For me it was easy to set up online and automatically transfers a healthy sum of money to each from my checking account every month. I have one for retirement and money for my kids down the road.
  25. Thanks. I can't even explain my feelings towards this boy. As far as I am concerned he is every bit of mine and I will not let someone jeopardize his future and well being. He wasn't made by me but I am his father. I have not done everything that I have because it is something right, but just because I couldn't imagine doing it any differently. Just to clear things up, I do not have money issues. I have a decent bit of money that I am always sitting on. Other than the new house, the only debt I have is a bit owed on my boat. No other payments at all. The problem in this situation is that I was planning and budgeting to go through with this after the start of 2012 and realistically saw it happening come late spring. With everything going the way it has been recently I am starting to feel that I need to take care of this right away and not waste any time. My budgeting for this time of the year makes it harder to feel comfortable with that. The biggest problem isn't that it could cost 5k to do so. I would write a check tomorrow. I am worried that after the way things went last time, it would easily flow right past 5,000 and who knows where it would stop. Eventually I could run out of money just like everyone else. What if I was in the middle of a drawn out case and the attorney says she needs a few more thousand? Then do I just walk away saying I have no more to give and worry about it next year? While 10k or higher is not likely to be spent on fighting white trash with no money, it is the unknown and possibility that makes me me uneasy I would spend 10k on either one of my kids if I had to but I would rather it not take that. I would also not feel comfortable in taking that much out of our finances. In the end, I still have to ensure that their future is in good standing and that I am prepared and able to take care of them regardless of what comes my way. I would sell everyone of my toys in a heartbeat if needed to take care of this. However, it is also not realistic to think that tomorrow, in the dead of winter, someone is going to give me what I need to get out of my boat. Giving it away for half of it's value is not productive to my family either. Being realistic, I am trying to prepare to do something right now. I have a good bit of money in the bank. Like I said though, it has a limit like everyone elses. How much money should a person have in the bank to feel comfortable with an attorneys who virtually has no limit to the amount of money they can take? Buying our house is something that is just as important to our family's future and well being. You have to consider the possible situation that I may be in as far as the deal I got along with interest rate and so on. I understand a lot of this. Infact, I understand better now after reading some others opinions. Like I have said a few times, I have had little exerience with this type of stuff. I obviously know that the number 1 concern of an attorney is to make money at the end of the day. I just wasn't sure if this particular one had been doing it in a fair manor. It is especially hard to understand for someone like me who has worked his whole life in fields where most of the time a quote is given to complete a job and it is MY responsibility to know that I understand from expert experience how to quote the job accurately as to profit upon completion while ensuring that I stay within the price given. I never felt as if I could really trust that my childs best interest was the final goal with this particular attorney. I felt more like everything was a opportunity to charge more. It is just a very unsettling situation that does not carry much reassurance at all.
