  1. They just went out of season last week though. I would like to try coon and fox.
  2. Snare for a coyote should be up too high for coon or opossums. You may get a fox, but getting a bird would be really rare. My cousin had 3 follow him out of the woods to his truck this deer season. They spread out and started a half circle around him. This is a guy that has been in the woods since he was 4 years old with his dad. He said it was the most he had ever been afraid in the woods. He was bow hunting and did have a pistol with him. He said it felt like they knew just how close they could get and not have him shoot. Furtaker permit is required to sell the animal. Many places with take them as a whole animal. You don't get as much for them though. The more work you do, the more value you have. Bring in volume and they pay you more per animal. People who trap tend to sell. Coyote is still open season. There are coyote shooting tournaments going on all over the place right now. There was a team that turned in 80 in a four day session. Wild hog and coyote are on same regs here in ohio for shooting and open season year round. Someone shot a hog last week in Licking county. Mild winter may have them more comfortable pushing up from the southern states. Howard, it doesn't seem you read all of my original post. "I'm not here for animal rights activists to complain or scrutinize". You don't have to like it. I'd feel far better about shooting a coyote than someone losing their pet to one.
  3. Have you talked to ODNR about your options? You may not be able to shoot a gun in city limits, but snaring may be an option. I would post up with a crossbow and just make sure you have good safe background for a shot.
  4. $15 permit. No issue. Many people are saying there is a "season" for this year, but that's only for trapping.
  5. I'm posting this in the Gun crew, mostly as a feeler to start with. If you're in here, you have a gun or gun interest. What I'm looking to do is shot some coyotes. Many of these animals will be taken at night quietly. I'm looking to work with rural landowners in Licking, Knox, Franklin and Delaware county. I may entertain other surrounding counties. Concept of operation: You have a pet you love that goes outside and you don't want fluffy to be a coyote snack. Rifles and night vision scopes are legal for coyote hunting. I do have a crossbow with NV that I may be willing to use on a case by case basis, if in city limits. If you have hunting land, like a lease for deer hunting, and want coyotes gone, we can talk about that too. I don't want your hunting spot, I have a solid place that I have taken 2-3 deer a year from. There is no cost for this, so I'm not selling anything. I'm not here for animal rights activists to complain or scrutinize. I have been following and seeing more and more issues with coyotes. They are in every city (to include Manhattan) and state, except Hawaii. This is the reason there is no limit or closed season on shooting these animals.
  6. It should read it. Many of them them read for arrow, and those are 250-500 fps. I'd give it a shot. Pun intended.
  7. Looking good Alex. Let me know what scope you go with.

Do they run a proprietary mag? It looks like a fun shooter and the price is not terrible. I only did a quick look into them. Threaded barrel is great. The pistol thing just isn't a world I have played in. Need these damn ATF grey areas to go away. Let us have SBR's and suppressors without the paperwork.

Yikes, I stepped away from here a minute and didn't see all the AR9 interest. Alex, my reply was not targeted to your post, it just came after your post. Here's all I'm saying on the AR9 or 9mm "rifle/carbine" configurations. It is simply a fun shooter. There are dozens of more practical guns for people to buy. I got into my AR9 for a few hundred and had no real quality or accuracy expectations. Around Christmas, 3 years ago, Palmetto State Armory was running a deal on a lower that came with 40 Glock mags. That's a fuck ton of Glock mags, even if they were not from Glock. The lower was $2xx. The upper was on sale too for around $300, so I bought them. Changed out the butt stock and threw a Vortex red dot on there that I had laying around, and damn if I don't shoot that thing all the time. I have not had a failure with it either. I was expecting sub par performance and accuracy. I'm hitting "rabbit size" targets at 90 yards, with a 9mm and a dot, with no magnification. I have thousands of rounds through it now and have upped it to considering it a reliable gun. Likely would be the wife's go to gun if needed. Other AR's are not "fun" for her. Percussion, recoil and weight are all factors that many ladies dislike. Hell, originally I said it was her gun so she would shoot and not have all those factors. Now, well I'm just keeping it dialed in. https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-gen4-16-9mm-1-10-lightweight-m-lok-classic-rifle-5165450028.html I have shot the Scorpion and man, that's a fun gun! The cost and "pistol" aspect of it have kept me from owning one. I've messed around with a few drills, transitioning from the AR9 to a Glock pistol. There is something to be said for one round for the pistol and rifle. The limits of the 9mm round are what they are. Essentially this configuration was what the UN wanted with the request for a round that could be fired from the rifle and pistol. The FN5.7 and the PS90 brought that together, but it didn't take hold as they had hoped.

Anyone not running an AR9 or having not shot one, you are missing out. Absolutely one of the most fun guns I have shot for the money. There are several makes out there, but when set up to take Glock mags, I think it's great to pair up with a 9mm Glock.

With shipping, 1000 rounds came out to $131. $.13 a round, when most deals are $.17+ shipping. $6.55 for 50 rounds is another way to see it’s a deal.

I like the 12 round capacity in the same size as a Glock 43. I’ve had one in my hands, but not shot one yet.
  14. Sell the FD. Maybe put a new head unit in it if it doesn't sell.

There's a good bit of diversity in the interest posted. Sparks new ideas. Side note: Ammo, I was reorganizing last night and found 4000 rounds of .22 I forgot about and a case of 9mm. Is anyone shooting .17 HMR? I found a pretty stupid deal yesterday.

Shaun, you reminded me that a Sig 365XL is on my shortlist too. I'm far too committed to crossbow now. I had an interest in doing some compound shooting, but that's not happening any time soon. Let me know if I can be of help with the cleaning. I revamped all my gun cleaning gear two months ago and went with this kit, now I have two gun vise. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076CW7KWR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Let's see if there is any life left in this sub forum. This isn't meant to bash what anyone posts. As shooters, our skill level and priorities change. For me, I have a few other things I want to do with firearms, so I have some plans. I'm on a rimfire kick right now, so that's the influence. Ordered today, Ruger precision in .17 HMR, to be suppressed and used with an ATN 4K pro for skunks, coons, coyotes and other small game. When not shooting at night, it will likely have a Nikon Monarch 6x24 on it. Yes, the scope is about the size of the gun. As of now, the next project will be a Kel Tek CMR30, to be suppressed as well, with Vortex dot. Possibly having the barrel shortened. I'm having a hard time not commiting to a Bergara BXR in carbon fiber. I just can't get away from the 10/22 platform and really like this gun. I already have a silly bull barrel 10/22 that shoots dandelion stems at 100 yards, the BXR just needs to happen. For now though, they are a new release and hard to come by, so that my be later in the year. I'm working closer to home now, after 20 months of a 140 mile round trip commute, so my hope to to have a bit more range time and talk firearms a bit more. If there's anything I might be able to help with, free free to ask. If I don't know I'll tell you I don't. If I can help you, I'll let you know. Looking forward to reading what you all are working on.
  18. I'm no computer guru. In 2017, I feel I was looking for the same thing you posted. I'm no fan of a particular make, but function and competitive specs were a focus. I went with this one in 2017 and would do it again. https://www.amazon.com/Mobile-Advance-HP-Spectre-15-CH011DX/dp/B07F963B49/ref=sr_1_9?crid=1ACW3H151X4CL&keywords=hp+spectre+x360+15&qid=1578011418&sprefix=hp+spectre%2Caps%2C214&sr=8-9
  19. How can you look at this as acceptable? I have never had a daily drive towed. Having and RX* for a daily is like dating a crack addict. She me do some crazy shit you like, but you know damn well shows going to let you down a lot.
