  1. What contest is being held after the chili contest?
  2. Good question, not real sure on that, same as a trike, yes. It is still a form of riding.
  3. I got dumped on shortly after we split until halfway up 270.
  4. Will we be riding trikes by then, I know I probably will be, I do like the Can Am Spyder's by the way.
  5. Night & Day difference, a much less aggressive riding position, the lower foot position, and the sport touring type handle bars are the biggest difference. I was not sure that the riding position was going to be for me at first, nor did I think it would handle well in the curves, but it does, and I am starting to really like the riding position too. The engine is a great engine, not at all in the same league as the ZX10R, which I am sure you already knew that, but still a great engine for this style of motorcycle.
  6. Leaving home in a few, gonna be a damp and foggy start for me. Only 3 1/2 hours sleep is rough at my age!
  7. I like the N1K, still getting familiar with the riding position, but all and all no complaints. It looks like Thornville (meeting point) is 2 hours from me, a 6:45/7:00 a.m. departure is gonna be tough, not a morning person at all. Hopefully I will be on time, if not, an I70 blast to catch up will wake things up for me in a hurry!
  8. I have boots, coat & gloves that are water proof, at least they are supposed to be...Heading out now to see if I can find some waterproof over-pants. It looks like I am probably in regardless, I will post back later after I take the family to dinner and the grocery. All for the cause, a chance to ride, and meeting some new people, but "super-slabbing" just sucks...
  9. A friend of mine just bought a 650R and loves it, he also has a GSXR750 and has a hard time deciding which to ride...He claims the low end of the 650R is great, but he also claims that it runs out of steam fast as you get into the higher gears. I agree on the FI point mentioned, that would certainly sway my decision to the 650 rather than the 500. Best of luck with your search!
  10. Please tell me more about the 1050 Speed Triple exhaust, mine is a 2010? Just curious, a 2011 Ninja 1000, should be the same as a 2010 & 2011 Z1000 if I am not mistaken? Thank you!
  11. Not much help here, but my SV1000S had a bolt on exhaust, so no all will not work if yours does not have the 4 bolt exhaust. Bike specific will cause less headache on the install usually. http://www.holeshot.com/
  12. 148 had a closed detour 2 weeks ago, I rode up to it and there is no getting around it, if it is still closed IDK, the road was completely gone, it looked like a bridge replacement. 536 is not that fun since they replaced the speed bumps with tar patches, the bike gets very shifty when crossing them. Have a safe ride!
  13. I never thought I would say this, but the sport touring tires available today, from just about all the big motorcycle tire manufacturers, are truly good tires for the street, wet grip, mileage, smoothness & plenty aggressive for spirited rides...I've been sold! I like Michelin's so PR2's work for me, then again the S3 might see a Metzeler Roadtec Z8 Interact real soon for the rear.
  14. Just turned 40 in July. The first brand new bike I ever purchased was a 1995 ZX7, as you can see I am still happy with Kawasaki's too.
  15. Ninja 1000, best of both worlds, well kinda!

    Saturday 8/27

Leaving for a West Virginia SEO ride with a guy from Youngstown in about an hour here, I should get to Bethlehem, WV (starting point 3 1/2 hours away) around 11:30 a.m....Is it really worth it, hell yeah...
  17. I rode 555 South of 78 last Saturday to 7, open from that point, actually pretty clean too.

    1001 mile ride

Sounds like a great ride, minus the rain of course.
  19. I would certainly look into the history of the S3 first, but yeah do it, fun bikes.
