  1. I saw them last year and was disappointed. Some A-hole in the crowd was throwing shit at Les and he got rightfully pissed and almost canceled the show. They played on and did their set but it ruined the whole show.
  2. I'll bring my M44. Fireballs and shoulder realignments for anyone willing.
  3. I worked for me. It would be really cool if it shows up in the wooden box they had on the cart.
  4. You can quad wield that bitch. You dual wielding fools better bow down.
  5. Call the local PD and file a complaint.
  6. It's only on the cheap China ones. Mine is on the opposite side and fly's the correct direction.
  7. I must have a better quality one. My flag has all 50 stars and the hat was made in Bangladesh. I didn't get the membership for the hat. Most times at the gun shows when I re-up my membership I tell them to keep the hat.
  8. Yes, please add me to your list as attending.
  9. First street legal street bike was a 1985 Honda Interceptor VF1000F. Back in the AOL days I tried to use "vf1000rider" and those bastards cut the last R off my screen name. I have been using it that way ever since. Sold off the bike back in 2001 but keep the name in memory, or well, just lazyness to change it.
  10. How many shells you recommend? I have a little over 200, if I need to get more its not a big deal. Just want to plan ahead.
  11. $3.59 just 10 minutes ago at my local Marathon station. Guess they were wrong.
  12. Alrighty then. Count me in. Please PM me the location, I will see everyone there.
  13. Is it a bunch of hand throwers or do they have machines (actual skeet towers. ). You have my attention but want a little more info before I change my drinking plans for next weekend to do this.
  14. I already live in a better neighborhood. Criminals live in all neighborhoods though. Heck just look at public officials, how many of them turn out to be crooks and they usually live in really posh communities. Granted they don't usually kick in your door to steel your money. They just put it to a vote and send you a bill in the mail.
  15. I've run the road2's on two different bikes now and love them. No experiance with the conti's, sorry can't help with that. I road my first track day on the pr2's and had no problems. Seams I keep changing them out early as it seems I plan long trips close to the end of tire life. I am still getting 6-7 thousand from the rear. Somebody with better self control on the throttle should see a fair bit more.
  16. I have tried the double or nuthin route and ended up with 2 bags of chips hung up and not dropping down. These days I just beat the shit out of them.
  17. I keep mine fully loaded and one in the chamber. Keeps the element of surprise mine and shortens the amount of time needed to make the gun ready. As for a light, I have a Streamlight TLR-1. Its mounted just forward of the pump handle on a small rail so I can activate it with my left hand. If you want to see the pics of my setup check it out in this thread; http://www.ohioriders.net/showpost.php?p=758766&postcount=6 I think a light is a good thing. You just have to use it correctly. Don't turn it on as soon as you get spooked. That will certainly give away your position. The idea of the light works best to stun the bad guy just briefly enough when he comes into view so you can get the best first shot you can. Both of you will have your eyes adjusted to see at night. If you can fire a very bright light at his face without warning he will be forced to close his eyes and turn away even if it is ever so brief you will gain advantage.
  18. What caliber are you looking for? As for the primers, use new ones. Soak them in oil for a day or two and then just pick the core out of the brass cup. Then install them in the cases and away you go.
  19. Everything I have is either mil-surp or handloads. Nothing commercial in my inventory. Here is what roughly 3000 rounds of M2 ball ammo looks like
  20. If your gonna take it in the rear, make sure the bike is in gear. I have seen wind push a bike forward that was in neutral and cause the side stand to fold up. Dang if they don't still fall over at that point.
  21. I think they blamed the guys with the covers also. Would have sucked to have owned any of those bikes regardless. It was out at the MotoGP in Indy 2008 when the bad storms rolled through. This was the only pileup I took a picture of but there where bikes on the ground all over the place at that event. Mykill, hope yours makes it till morning without any problems. Like others have said, if you can face it into the wind it is your best bet.
  22. I think if you asked any of these people they would tell you that wind can blow your bike over.
  23. This is very true of the military loaded ammo. The flat based 152gr M2 ball ammo is not known to be very accurate. It won't shoot better than a 5-6 inch group @100yards in any of the 4 guns I own that shoot it. The majority of what I reload is the same thing, 152gr flat base FMJ ammo mainly just as utility/plinking ammo. I do have a small lot (around 100) of some really well researched handloads that I worked up just for my match garand. They are a Sierra 168gr HPBT Matchking with all matching lot military brass that have been custom trued and prepped. I have my groups down to a honest 1inch pattern at 100yards for all 8 shots in the clip. It will hold the 1MOA group out to 300 with no problems. I can't compete with a match tuned AR but it will hold it's own against any 30caliber gun out there. (Edit: any semi-auto 30cal) Now granted, the gun I am using is not your normal worn out gun show special either. It is a 6 digit, pre-WWII Springfield M1 that has over a grand in upgrades to it. Barnett Medium weight match barrel, trigger work, all brand new parts in the sights, front gas system was all new and it was fully re-parkerized. Oh ya, and one of the best looking wood stocks I have ever owned.
  24. That's cool, these days I don't doubt .308 is cheaper. I have the two Garands, a Springfield M1903 and an Eddystone M1917 that all shoot the 30-06. I used the old adage of buy it cheap and stack it deep a few years back and have roughly 3k rounds in sealed cans. That's on top of the roughly 400 loaded on clips and another 1000+ ready to reload. For me all it takes is time and effort, the 8lb keg of powder and 5k pulled 152r bullets are sitting there just begging me to be loaded into brass. That shelf is nothing but empty 30-06 waiting to be processed and put back into service.
  25. It will actually be about 2 inches shorter than a tanker. Staying away from 308 was one of the biggest reasons I haven't purchased the Socom 16. Keeping with the .30-06 caliber was the deciding factor to convert this gun as I already reload for it and have 4 guns total that shoot it. The Eotech 517 is the AA battery model with side brightness controls (non-nightvision) Has the standard 1MOA dot reticle with the outer ring. It feels really natural on top of the gun despite it's size. I was playing soldier around the house earlier and it really is amazing how much faster you can come around a doorway and pick up a target in the room with this sight and both eyes open. I just need to remember to keep my eyes focused at distance. I found myself wanting to focus up close on the sight and all that does is ruin the whole effect.
