  1. No harm no foul, Derek. I could smell what you were steppin' in
  2. Wish it was that simple man, calling in on a weekend shift guarantees a written reprimand. Skeleton crew gets shafted. But let me try to sweet talk the help into covering my shift and I'll chime in with the verdict
  3. For now, I'm out. Scheduled to work that day, but I'll see what I can do to get out of it
  4. Kind of late to the party, but I do see Brembo and ABS in the pics
  5. ^^True story.....mind you, she has to decide WHICH foot touches the ground, but it did happen
  6. Horrible news. He was one of the greats.
  7. Should just be the State's standard maneuverability test, no other written tests should be needed.
  8. +1 for the MSF basic rider course. May as well get actual riding lessons while earning your endorsement. Not to mention that a lot of insurance companies offer a reimbursement for taking the MSF courses which virtually pay you to take the course. Enroll asap before classes fill up, unless you're local to a testing site to where you may get lucky enough to walk-on if someone else cancels
  9. Nice buy. Sharp and clean, looks fairly unmolested
  10. http://www.lasercuttingshapes.com/ This place in Cbus says they custom laser engrave wood may be easier than my torch stencil idea
  11. Hush now.......I'd like another 2 cars worth of garage, and that's the trade off for more bikes Your offer is on the table. More garage = more bikes
  12. Could probably find a local steel supplier that would have "drops" ( small leftovers ) in a heavy gauge or plate steel on the cheap. Finding a company that could torch/cut the pattern would be the tough part I'd guess. 2x2 sheet shouldn't cost too much to cut as long as the design is fairly simple. Water jet may even be a relatively cheap possibility now days? What are you looking to have put on it? Just names/date? A passage of some sort? Edit - reread your initial post, just names and date. I'll do a little diggin myself and see what I can find too
  13. I'd have a template cut ( waterjet, laser, or plasma, locally? ) from some steel plating, then simply torch the script through that onto the surface, polyurethane it, done. Even the hardest of wood still burns right?
  14. For a couple weeks prior to your next MidO trackday, watch a lot of YouTube on it. Thats what I did last month. You'll find a lot of good linework to reference and remember. I had trouble with making myself run later entries at the keyhole and the carousel to push both their apex further for better exit speed/angle. We go back August 25th, but only my wife is riding....I'm playing pitcrew for her that day
  15. Well put. Although I do understand the physics at work here, my vocabulary to explain it was found wanting
  16. No doubt, cheaper-than-ricepaper-stickers. My wife and one of my buddies both stuck 'em dead center of the windscreen. That's what Tony said to do in the first meeting. Once I saw what shitty quality they were, common sense kicked in and I slapped it to the headlamp Ah, yes.....and yet another addict has finally hit the trackpipe. Good for you man, now we'll have to take one in together someday
  17. Bradl has done well, be interesting to see how he does with NGM.
  18. Exactly. This is the same complaint on the Honda Fury, but I think it's even more anemic at 2.9 gallon or so
  19. ^^This. FMF repack kits are cheap, Think I did my old CR250's silencer a few years ago for around $30?
  20. Sounds great Doc, what exhaust did you go with?
  21. Thats some iron butt ride. What kind of seat is on your FJR?
  22. Seriously though, is that an encased rear axle drum brake? Whats that out of? Didn't think drum brakes were still used outside of the 90's on atv's?
