  1. Want want want, but not in a position to buy, sorry. GLWS!!
  2. Well, at least you can still ride the Harley, so...
  3. I totally agree - that is a damned good sound, until folks chop their pipes, wasting horsepower for noise, as if to say "look at us, we're so fabulous!" Then there are those impressively massive gearboxes. I swear you can feel the ground shake when a group shifts out of neutral to head out. Clunk, clunk, clunk-clunk, clunk, blub blub a bluba blubablub blubablubablubabluuuub! I've been to a tractor slow-race at a county fair, and no lie, it sounds a lot a like. Though one of the ARC attendees last night had a white ultra glide. Beautiful motorcycle and great sound. By comparison, you can barely hear my DL650 when a nearby cruiser is running, but I didn't buy my bike to make sound.

    Intro...

Welcome and great call on the MSF course!
  5. Welcome and great looking bike!
  6. I have it on direct authority that Mr. Mack has not ridden his bike in several weeks. What's the OR punishment for said offense?
  7. Yea, No S. I'm feeling a lot less comfortable dealing with/through them now.
  8. I could not agree more - well said.
  9. I agree, and I'd love the ability to pair headsets with groups so easily (and I could have been a much better sweep on the Romney trip with one) - I'm just wondering if the new 20S is $100 better than their SMH10. I'm seeing the '10 go for about $150 and the '20S for about $250 right now.

    Iron Pony A+

I think the best thing is being able to try stuff on and take it home that day (gear and luggage both - I love how they'll walk out to your bike and check the fit before you buy). I'm willing to pay some extra for that convenience, and it's even better when they can price-match. Occasionally their clearance items are outstanding deals too.
  11. SMH10 pricing is really getting good and I'm starting to consider swapping out my Cardo Q2 for a pair. Brian and others, does the new 20S offer enough compelling features/improvements to warrant $100 more per headset?
  12. Iron Pony's Marc Iafola (sorry if my spelling is off) was great to work with for my two bike purchases in mid-2012 and late-2013. He's an older dude, medium-build, zero-pressure, unassuming and especially good with new rider and pillion considerations. My experience is that he's fair if you're fair, and won't play any stupid dealer games if you're equally honest and respectful of their time.
  13. Unless it involves a missing jetliner.
  14. I bet you could get a few wingmen on that trip.
  15. Very nice, I wouldn't mind owning one of those one bit... Envious! I missed Hanging Rock last weekend to ride with some friends and do some pressing yard work before it rains again. My CRF230L is much too clean.
  16. I'm curious as to who that was. I've had good experiences with two purchases and a bunch of tire kicking with Marc.
  17. I have almost the same model and can attest that it's awesome for chilly mornings and throughout the winter. It'll warm a 2-car garage enough to comfortably work in about 15-20 minutes. Then just run it 5-10 minutes every 15 minutes or so. I used mine regularly over the winter to top-end an old Honda. GLWS!
  18. He's not talking about worship, he's just recognizing EPA mileage figures for what they are - a baseline prediction based on benchmark conditions. Aviation performance figures published by Cessna, Boeing, etc. are made the same way - takeoff and landing distances, fuel burn per hour and top air speeds are based on altitude/air density, temperature, weight, throttle, etc. and they're even expressed in performance charts instead of two numbers. It's not a conspiracy or representative of worship.
  19. Thanks to this multi-year ammo hoarding and pricing BS, I'm letting my range membership end. I can't afford to shoot often enough for it to make sense.
  20. In my experience as both a cat owner and a dog owner, cats are smarter but sometimes selfish jerks too. Dogs are basal and easier to understand. Intelligence is sometime but not always better, just like with people.
  21. Too late, a family member already turned me in to increase their food rations.
  22. How stalinistic of you to say! This is SO just like 1940s Germany...
