  1. Rode some West Virginia roads today. 88S to 250S to 7W. 88 was a bit dirty from pipeline work primarily I believe. 250 had a couple 1 lane traffic light deals and some rough patches, but pretty decent overall. It was the least amount of gravel I’ve seen on 250 in a long time. 7 was in great shape. They repaved the area with the 1 lane bridges.
  2. I just coated the whole circumference of each with rtv and called it good when I went to mid O.

@Tonik tell Ty to double Durant.
  4. You just made me feel more confident/comfortable in the fact I never balance my tires When I mount them. I’m cheap, so I bought my own spoons for about the same price a shop charges to mount. I just do it myself now.
  5. I might be able to make this. Thanks for posting it up.
  6. I bought a Tao-Tao quad brand new for my daughter’s probably 6-7 years ago. I had to do some small things to it for the 4-5 years we owned it. Cleaned the carb a time or 2, a couple new solenoids, maybe new ECU, got all the parts dirt cheap on EBay. I had to repair the gas tank outlet, the plastic outlet tube cracked and started leaking. If you’re somewhat mechanically inclined it’s not terrible to own especially if you’re just going to be yard riding. I don’t think the quad would have held up to consistent trail bashing like 1 from the big 4 would. My girls did ride it on my track a bit and it withstood some single jumps, however. Not sure what you’re looking to spend but I picked up a KLX140 for $900 a few years back. Kawasaki ‘s KLX 110 and 140 are similar to TTR I believe.
  7. How did I get tossed in this mix?

    Ride Friday 5/25

Had an awesome day. Just under 550 miles. Ran into a couple of OR friends on my way home. I hope to plan more Saturday rides this year so others can join. A couple things to report on road conditions. 676 has a 15 mph turn section that is rippled pretty bad. It’s shortly after turning on to it off 555. 26 is closed between 260 and 537. Detour is pretty easy up 260N to 537. 255 is closed 536 has multiple issues, so much so that I was questioning if I wanted ride it ever again. Then I hit 556 and I realized all those tight twisty corners and disruptions made me so much more comfortable on a road that is not so technical.

Glad you had fun Rick. Occasionally I would think to myself he probably thinks I’m an idiot and then you’d reappear in my mirror again. So I just continued on with more of the same.

    Ride Friday 5/25

Rick are you still planning on this? I’m currently at Arby’s in Marietta having lunch. Just wondering if I should look for you. Probably leave here in 15 minutes or so. Not sure what time exactly that puts me in Beallsville. If you’re going where should I look for you at?

    Ride Friday 5/25

Rick I’m not exactly sure on the time. How long does it take you to get to Beallsville? I’m guessing it’ll be about 2-2.5 hrs from when I leave Marietta. I could text you when I’m leaving.

    Ride Friday 5/25

I know most of you probably can’t make this but I thought I’d throw it out there for anybody that can and wants to ride. Pace will be medium-fast is my guess. Route to Marietta https://www.mapquest.com/directions/list/1/us/oh/44047-286285678/to/us/oh/lisbon-282040601/to/us/oh/salineville-282022608/to/us/oh/cadiz-282028727/to/us/oh/old-washington-282093200/to/us/oh/new-concord-282022987/to/us/oh/bristol-283477805/to/us/oh/chesterhill-282035655/to/us/oh/chesterhill/43728-9403/9219-s-state-route-555-39.460853,-81.828166/to/us/oh/dale-283449848/to/us/oh/watertown-282912229/to/us/oh/marietta/45750-6545/19815-state-route-676-39.445410,-81.524296/to/us/oh/marietta-282031629?unit=m&routeType=fastest The return route is up in the air. Depends on how I’m feeling and how I’m doing on time. I was thinking something like this possibly though https://www.mapquest.com/directions/list/1/us/oh/marietta-282031629/to/us/oh/sitka-283399104/to/us/oh/griffith-283475364/to/us/oh/hannibal-282035598/to/us/oh/clarington/43915-9738/47555-state-route-536-39.722712,-80.962040/to/us/oh/clarington-282030589/to/us/oh/beallsville-282036339/to/us/oh/alledonia-283586308/to/us/oh/jacobsburg/43933-9798/60795-armstrong-centerville-rd-39.970789,-80.970746/to/us/oh/cadiz-282028727/to/us/oh/kilgore-283381684/to/us/oh/bergholz/43908-7962/5161-state-route-164-40.541694,-80.884746/to/us/oh/salineville-282022608/to/us/oh/lisbon-282040601/to/us/oh/44047-286285678 I plan to be in Cadiz around 8. New Concord around 9:15 then Marietta around 11. I will probably eat lunch there. Let me know if you want to join me.
  17. What did Kawasaki do for him?
  18. I’m 41 with some bad knees. ACL surgery on right about 3 yrs ago. Left probably needs looked at, bothers me at times. I ride a 1000rr and can have some aches on the bike for sure. For me to get to any good roads I typically have to spend about an hour on Rt 11. On the freeway I often throw my feet on my rear spools to keep from having to be all crunched up. Once I get to the better roads my adrenaline kicks in and I’m usually shifting on the seat. I agree with others on the idea of changing body position helping. My knees will definitely hurt but the smile on my face makes me forget. I always wear a pair of padded bicycle shorts because Honda puts bricks for seats on their sport bikes. I always carry ibuprofen along with Tums and allergy eye drops on my bike. Occasionally I will get some shoulder or elbow pain and that’s when I’ll pop 800mg of ibuprofen. Usually I need to get gas within 2 hours of riding and that break usually is good enough to relieve knee aches. When I put in 500 or more miles I like to stop for a good 30 minute lunch as well. It does my whole body a lot of good. I feel it when I skip lunch for sure and it’s not because of hunger or nutrition my body misses the rest.
  19. That’s a great looking bike.
  20. I plan to make this. I hope the weather cooperates. It has sucked so far this year.
  21. My oldest daughter Tory and I got for a little over 3 hours today. She snapped this when I had to stop and get directions to get home because who knows where Pennsylvania was taking me on their detour. Gave us more time on the bike, so neither of us were complaining.
