What were the roads like Rick after those storms rolled through, or did they not hit you guys? I wanted to ride today but my other half squashed that last night.

Mounted a set of Contimotions because I needed to replace my Roadsmart 3s and $150 to my door sounded good enough for now. Took a quick test run in the dark at 8:30 and they felt a lot smoother than my 3s with nearly 7000 miles. I’ve ran conti’s before but never on the 1000. We’ll see how they hold up.

I would but since we share the same birth date it just wouldn’t be right.

Tuesday everybody’s mommy called and complained to the superintendent when we had school. So, my school decided they would contribute to raising the softest generation ever in America and cancelled today. I took advantage of their softness and took a ride. 154-170-7-WV2-WV27-WV88-WV250-WV310-WV50 into Maryland. Once I hit Maryland I punched in Home on the GPS. I had to get Home in time to pick up my girls from practice. I rode 550 miles, only bummer was I rode over 200 on the slab. It was cool to hit roads I have never been on and add Maryland as a state I’ve rode in. WV 50 between Grafton and Maryland is a cool road and whatever backwoods road my GPS sent me on to get to 68 definitely had some sweet spots when the road wasn’t all cobble stoned.

Wish I would have saw this last night. My school decided to be like every other pansy school in NEO and cancelled today. I took a ride today, would have been great to ride with you.

So is this good news top secret or can you share it with your friends?

I received the email about this and I’m debating going.

I went by both on Wednesday they both had road closed signs up.

I think around 21000. It’s got 45500 miles total.

Pulled fuel pump, cleaned it and the filter. The pump was starting to make a squealing noise like it did last year when the bike started hesitating and losing power at high rpms. It never was hesitating yesterday but I noticed some similar behaviors that were occurring last year. Last year I replaced it with a new used EBay pump. I decided to try to clean this one instead of replacing it. It seemed to do the trick. No funky squealing pig in the tank and the bike ripped through the gears on a short test ride before the sprinkles came tonight. I also fixed my front turn signal.

Took 1 last big ride before it’s back to teaching. Put down 579 miles today in about 11hrs. Reality starts Monday.

Jim I don’t want to derail your thread so I’ll just say I’m really glad you’re doing well.

That’s good news if they’re going go all the way through it including the transmission. That’s the right way to do it. I’d hate to be the guy doing it. Sounds like you have a quality dealer you’re working with.

That should take you back to stock on the cylinder. Head???

As far as cylinder goes, my guess is it is nikasil coated. They would have to send it out to be coated. I would assume that is being done as well with piston and valves. For my quad I had a buddy who works at Wiseco he had it sent out for me. I’m not even sure where he sent it.

I’d think they would obviously be putting in new valves, piston and rings. The things I would be concerned about on top of that are the rod and valve guides. Looks like there was some major contact with the piston and valves there. I’d be asking about all the shrapnel that went through your motor as well. My advice is just based off of damage I’ve done to single cylinder quad motors, so others may have better advice. Sorry to hear they’re changing things up on you. I hope they get the bike back to you before the end of the season and it’s as good as new when you get it.

Having a bike for close to 9 years and putting 21,000 miles on it, then selling it for just $500 less than you paid for it is impressive.
