Might have to back it down a little from the pace we ran together with Jacob.
-
@HeavyDuty I appreciate you posting this here. I personally never served, but have the utmost respect for those that have. I hate the idea of people kneeling for our national anthem.

That problem could be solved if the wife would started riding again. She could take 1 and I could take the other. On second thought that may not be wise. My guess is pace would be a bit slower than I would like. I think the answer is I just need to ride more often to keep both of them content.

On Labor Day I took my youngest daughter Ally out for a ride. She has never really expressed a big interest in riding with me other than a ride from school or to a friend's house. I always felt she wanted to be seen on the bike more than she enjoyed riding. What's crazy is this Labor Day ride together was brought on more by my wife than anything. As I was prepping to leave to test out my fuel pump swap, my wife asked her if she wanted to go for a motorcycle ride with me. Her response was I guess so. I took her to the best curves close to us and ran a nice pace through them. When we got home, she said "dad those curves were fun". That setup today's 3hr ride over into Pennsylvania on a road that definitely is better than what we ran a couple weeks ago. When we got home she was smiling ear to ear. She now wants to try a 5-6hr ride with me down south. Now both my daughters enjoy riding with me and for some reason the wife doesn't seem to be as worried as she was in the past about me taking the girls. It's a blast taking my girls for rides and having them enjoy it as much as I do. Now I can give my wife the excuse that riding is quality daddy-daughter time. ?

Glad you were able to keep the rubber side down.

Dunlop Roadsmart III's - $100 rebate during September
durk replied to waynesworld's topic in Reviews
I like the RS3s so far. I have not been to SEO yet to really get a feel for them in corners, but I have hit a couple of esses near home I like. So far I can't really tell a difference in feel between these and the Pilot Road 2s I was running prior. I'd check with Mike at Riders Discount before I ordered from anyone else. He beat all the prices I researched. -
Every time I've ever had pulsating it has come down to a warped rotor. I can't say for sure if that is your problem, but it would be my guess.
-
I love the feeling of new tires on the bike. Felt like I was floating in the air the whole ride to work. Can't wait to get out of here and ride home to push the RS3s a bit now that I have both the rear and front mounted.
-
I don't know if I'm supposed to post the price, but I will say he beat it.

I got caught in a little bit of rain on the way home today from work. I only had the rear RS3 on. It seemed to grip well in the wet. I spooned the front on tonight. I hope to ride to work again tomorrow and see how the bike handles. @2talltim I would recommend you check with Mike next time for the RS3 if you go with them again. I think you've mentioned you get tires from Rocky Mountain. I have done the same in the past, but Mike has given me better deals.

Rode it to work. When I got home I had an hour to change the rear tire. I managed to get the tire mounted and clean up the swingarm before I went to watch my daughters' volleyball games. Tomorrow I hope swap out the front tire before another volleyball game. I got 6000 miles out of pilot road 2s. That's 3 times the mileage I got out of a set Q3s. I'm giving Roadsmart 3s a shot this time. I could not pass up the $100 rebate and the stellar price Mike @RidersDiscount gave me.

I sure did. I'm glad I pulled the pass the same time you 2 did. I made sure I kept pace with you 2 just watch you at work Derek. Nice riding - both of you.

@Connie14I have ridden at 2 trailheads on Hatfield. I rode Rockhouse and Bear Wallow I believe we're the names. I ride a quad off road. I'm not sure which 1 you're going to. If it's Rockhouse, it is appropriately named- rocky, rough, and hard on your machine. Bear Wallow is no paved road by any means, but it it is not as rough. I enjoyed both places. I'm no extreme hill climber but I felt comfortable on all the black trails. I don't believe I tried any of the black/red. I went in with the same attitude you're approaching it with. I'm sure you'll have a good time. It's been awhile since I've been there I'm kind of jealous.

I had a couple of you ask about my fuel pump swap on Saturday. Thought I'd give an update. Bike is running like a champ now. I did not realize how much it was running like a dog prior to the swap. It feels as though I gained 50hp back.
-
Take it your knee is back to 100%. Have you ridden Hatfield before?

Home safe as well. 550 miles today. I'm tired. It was great to see everybody. Thanks for putting this together @NinjaDoc. Thanks for leading me around most of the day @B-Mac. Great riding with you as always @TreeFime. @Skinny guy (Rick) I hope you enjoyed the ride home. It was great to ride with you. You handle that BMW well. We'll have to ride together again sometime.

I would think you should be able to get a nice track bike with that money. Do you think it will go up that much? Progressive payed out like $3500 to me when I cracked a quad frame after wrecking it. I don't remember my policy going up. At least not a significant amount to make me do a double take on it. I realize it was a quad and less money paid out, but it was still money they paid out.

I plan to be in Lisbon around 7:20. From there I'm running 164-9 into Cadiz around 8:20. Then 22-800 meeting @TreeFime at 70 and 800 around 9. From there 800 to 78. I plan for my stops to be quick and the pace to be brisk. If anybody wants to meet up post in here or PM me. I'll try to keep an eye on both. Can't wait to ride with all of you tomorrow.

@B-Mac I like the sound of the Ninja.
-
I'm looking forward to this ride as well. I rode to work today and I'm pretty sure the fuel pump swap I did cured my issues on the bike. Saturday can't come soon enough.
-
Sorry to hear this. Glad you're okay and made it home. Gravel?
-
Great to hear from you Jerry. I have been, and will continue to pray for your recovery.

Installed the new-used fuel pump I got off EBay on Saturday. Took the bike out 2 up today for 1.5 hrs. Pulled in the driveway and dropped off my daughter then went down the road to test the bike out. Bike seemed to run great, no hesitation. This is good news. The last time I tested after my commute from work (30 min ride) I could notice a hesitation. I'm not 100% it's fixed, but seems it could be. The mechanic at the bike shop I stopped at mentioned it could be a bad fuel pressure regulator When I explained my symptoms to a buddy of mine who is a much better mechanic than I he also mentioned the fpr. On the 06 1000rr the fpr is built into the pump. So, maybe that was my problem. Thanks so much to all of you that mentioned things to check out, and help with diagnosis.

Took my youngest daughter out for a 1.5 hr ride. May have hooked her on riding just like her sister. I took her to the best road we have nearby. When asked what she liked best. "The corners dad". When I explained there are much better roads out there, she seemed more open to a longer ride. Just may have to take her to Deals Gap next year.
