In WVA a lot of new pavement was put down on 250, but when I was there near the end of June there was a fair amount of gravel so watch yourself. Awesome road. I took it down to 79.
I can believe it happens often, but it surely shouldn't. It's simple stay in your lane. Don't ride above your level. Especially at Tail, you know it's dangerous and there will be traffic.
Totally agree with you Tonik that people live the life they see. I see it very often as a teacher. The idea that the apple does not fall from the tree holds very true most of the time. Sure you have some rare cases where they don't. My problem is I don't have an answer of how we intervene.
Nice riding with you again Nivin and Al. Nice to meet you Jim, Jim and Tim. I had a blast. Pace was great. Route was great too. I still ended up with like 350 miles today.
I carry a small can of wd40 with me when I need to lube my chain before returning home and just lube the chain by rolling it section by section. Not the best job but it usually is effective.
Tonik do you have a link to this information? I was always taught we are the wealthiest country. This obviously puts a twist on that thought. I would like to read more about it.
I really seconded Pauly's post to push for a fall ride. No pressure Derek. Knew you originally were only planning 1 ride. I like Doc's idea. Keep it simple. Plan a ride and let's go. No complaints here about the 2 rides I've made. Rode with different groups both times and had a blast each time.
Thanks for posting this topic Derek. I too have a desire to do a track day. Not sure if I'll go for it this year or next. Thanks for all of the info the rest of you have posted.
