Sure is!! Gotta say it's impressive what these are worth piece by piece. If it happens I'll keep the 1200 motor and sell the 1100. I don't know though. Its a lot of work.
Sounds like about 2 weeks. Good detour should be west on rt40 past edge of town...left on Rix MIlls rd.....left on sr313.....brings you right back to 83. Pretty fun detour as well.
Good call. I checked into availability of some general maintenance parts and it wasn't good. I ride to much to have something I can't maintain. Sure do like that bike though.
Been talking to a fella interested in my Meanstreak. He has a Buell he'd like to trade. I don't know shit about them. Anyone with experience or opinions. I did notice it has the Rotax engine less than 10,000 miles.
Thanks fellas I had to vent a little. By the time I made it in the garage I was somewhere between rattled good and mad as hell. Just happy to keep it vertical.
I was up a little early this morning and had some time to kill so I decided to take a little blast up sr83. Still just a little foggy out and early enough that deer were still on the move so I took it a little easier than usual. Let's call it a brisk pace. It seemed like it was gonna be a great morning. As I started into a left hander along came an SUV in the opposite direction but 2/3 into my lane. I stood the bike up to miss it riding deeeeep into the corner before I could throw it over. Edge of the road mid corner deep. The rear started to slip (guessing trash along edge of the road) and my reaction was to hold steady on throttle and try to counter. Shit happened fast and there was no thought involved just reacting to what the bike was doing. I nearly had it straightened up when the ass end bit. I can't believe I stayed on the bike at this point. I'm shocked at just how violent that snap was when the bike straightened up. Other than being a little rattled all was well and I felt very lucky. Needless to say I headed for the house. 5 miles from the house I see a truck with blinker on to turn onto a road to my right. Unsure if he saw me I ease up and the truck straightened up as if to wait for me to pass. At the last moment he decides to make the turn. Pretty sure I was up on one wheel before coming to a complete stop in the middle of the road about 2 feet from the ass hats trailer. What are the odds of this shit twice in one day. Seems some folks need to pay a little more fucking attention behind the wheel.
Don't think I'll be making this ride tomorrow and if I do it's gonna be a very relaxed pace. Today was hands down the worst day I've ever had on two wheels. More on that later.
As mentioned above clean rotors. Then clean up the pistons while you're at it. Uneven pressure from sticky pistons will sometimes give a low speed pulse.
Got all 3 of them washed up before the rain hit. Maybe give em a little wax tomorrow. Gotta mount up a rear tire for the red one. Damn thing melted right down the middle
Sunday 9-24. No ball games scheduled and I refuse to work. A buddy and I are planning a little ride thru Hocking. Meet up 10:30 Fuel Mart in New Concord kick stands up at 11:00. Fuel stop in Nelsonville before heading south past lake Hope. Plan to stop for a bite to eat at the corner of sr13 and rt40. That could be a good spot to split off. Anyone from the north could pick up 62 to shorten things up a bit. I'm usually an OR medium pace I think but in typical OR fashion the plan is to hold up at turns.
This will have to do for now. Google maps and In-Route are not playing nice together.
South on 83....R on 313...R on 146...L on salt creek drive....L on 60.....R on old river rd...R on 669....L on 555...R on 78....R on 33....L on 278....R on 56....R on 374....R on 664.....R on 256...L on 13 to the crossroads at rt40
I'm out. Gonna be tough to play catch up after juniors ball game. Work and football are taking a toll on my time on two wheels. Putting a ride together for the 24th though.
