I have zero desire to ride it over the BMW. I am pushing toward trading the Vulcan and the Ducati in on a newer R1200RT for 2-up touring.

Kentucky is one of the best motorcycling states I have been through.

I think most heavy cruisers will fade away in the next decade. Why buy one when the GW is so good? The Voyager is a decade old and is $20k. I would gladly spend another $2-5k to step into something modern if I were in the market for a new bike. There is no chance I am spending GoldWing money on a 900 lb bagger. I am NOT in the market for a new machine, but I am supposed to be HD's demographic (I am 43 and make enough to afford one). A giant HD/Kaw/whatevs isn't even a blip on my radar.

425 miles. Had a great ride. Had decent BBQ (not awesome, but warm and convenient) and good company. I rode Jason's 2008 K1200GT. Nice bike, FAST.... but cramped. WV-20 is partially repaved. WV-7 is brilliant, as always. 250 is becoming mainstream and I will begin to quietly shun it for the rest of this season. OH-800 is always a treat.

HD had its heyday, but all things come to an end. This is what happens when you build your product on an ideal, rather than market research. Good. Maybe one of them will buy my Ducati.

Meeting in Cadiz @ 8am. Taking backroads into WV. Taking different backroads home. Looking at 5-600 miles of riding for the day. Fuel stops will be about every 100 miles. A lunch stop is not planned, so bring snacks or plan to eat gas station food. I anticipate a 12 hour day of riding. The pace will be heavily spirited, but not idiotic. However, this is not a newb-friendly social ride.

I have AAA w/ RV coverage. Covers everything.

Insurance tow packages are trash.
