  1. Yes, very good combo. It should also be mentioned to do the updates to the software before running them, otherwise the programs may not catch everything.
  2. Those won't work. LS1 heads are completely different then GEN-I and GEN-II SBC heads. Check your e-mail.
  3. Whiney, bitchy threads get locked. Remember people, we are trying to clean up the board. - If you want to have a FUNNY conversation about pissing on people, that's one thing. This isn't funny, it is people bitching. - If you want to have a conversation about boating watersports (which I'm into as well as some others on this board), that's perfectly fine too. Regardless, this thread is done.
  4. I want to hear more about these collectors plates. My car has no chance in hell of passing e-check....not by a long shot. I'd either have to: - Bribe the e-check person (trust me, I'm not above slipping a $50 handshake to a guy testing my car) - Find some way to register my car in another county - Collectors tags if that gets me out of E-check. The last one seems to be my best way out, if it works.
  5. It's an amazing invention they came out with a while ago. What's it called again....oh yeah, the FUNNEL. Try it some time. I don't even have the option of a filler neck w/ my LT4 covers, and don't miss it anyway.
  6. Josh, you really need to pull off the filler neck for the oil fill. The oil cap will screw directly into the valve cover, and look a LOT better.
  7. Don't be a wussy, get some oil on you. Makes a man out of ya, seriously. Grab a rag, wipe it off, then you are good to go. Why pay $15-25 for something you can do yourself for $8-12? The time it would take me to get my oil changed I'd already have it done.
  8. My ET Streets aren't bad on the street, but don't try taking corners on them.....it gets VERY shakey out back. I run rims screws and no tubes, 26x11.5x16. Normally they are only on the street for the drive to and from the track; they don't make a good street tire. Bird Of a Different Motor (69 Firebird) runs 27" Hoosier QTP's, and drives them on the street all the time, but he doesn't put a lot of miles on his gas guzzler either. For normal every day street "drag tire" I'd suggest a Nitto DR. They have a good amount of life on the street. BFG DR's hook better, but won't last nearly as long as the Nitto. Haven't seen the MT DR yet, but I'm definately interested in seeing what it has to offer.
  9. My roomate may be interested in the memory stick if you are willing to part.

  11. That sucks; always sucks to see a car you rarely see wrecked up.
  12. My mom's b/f wants a set of heads for his truck. I don't know jack about this truck (what size it is, hell brand for that matter). All I know is he needs a set of heads for it, my mom gave me a little sketchy info and asked me to look for a pair. I'm going to guess just a plain, jane carbed truck 350, and probably wanting a little more performance over stock. Price is iffy; I think he is wanting to spend ~$200 but would probably go up to $500. He is wanting something better than stock, though an aftermarket set of complete heads at that price are probably a bit of a stretch. Basically, what does everyone have??
  13. When it comes to porting heads, good + cheap don't go together, period.
  14. Doesn't surprise me at all. I had my Hooker LT's coated inside and out by Jet Hot (most small online companies offer to have this done prior to shipping it to you). My collectors started rusting after a month. My headers look like total ass now; no coating on the collectors, primaries rusting up here and there, rust around the flange as well. Luckily, there's a 3 year warranty on them, and it isn't up yet. Whenever I can get to it, I'm pulling them and shipping them back to Jet-Hot to be recoated.
  15. Wasn't expecting to see this. I'm more curious as to how this will unfold, as this will be the last time I can get online for a week.
  16. I have no clue how much it is worth; I'll have to do some research. I know in crate for it costs around 2k, but of course this motor isn't worth anything close to that.

  18. I'm not sure, the weather has been crappy on my days off work, so I haven't taken the time to jack her up and find out.

  20. +1.....that wing is worse than the STi's stock spoiler!
  21. Engine is pretty decent. As with pretty much all older 4.3L's, the valve seals leak a bit, so she smokes a bit on startup. They don't leak bad, though, because I go 3k miles between oil changes and the oil level doesn't go down a noticable amount between changes. The starter might be on its way out. About once a week it would freewheel the first time I tried cranking it. Crank again and it would fire right up. She idles a bit rough. Plugs/wires, cap, rotor, ignition control module, and coil are all new. The idle isn't terriable, but isn't smooth. She drives smoothly and has full power up to redline. The CPI motors are known to have the fuel injection units die on them, or the regulators. My guess is it needs a new regulartor and nut kit, which isn't too expensive. It's done this for a while now and never got any worse, so I haven't messed with it. Otherwise, it needs a new knock sensor and wiring clip for that. Easy junk-yard item to get for next to nothing. That's it otherwise. Brand new fan clutch and waterpump were recently installed. She runs strong and gets decent mileage. As you can see I'm being up front about every problem this thing possibly has.....I'm not going to lie and say this was some perfect truck before the accident.....it wasn't, lol. But I put a good chunk of change into it this past year, and has been running strong for some time now.

  23. Alright, I'll set a price: $900. I came to that price because I can sell the parts that are fairly easy to remove AND would still allow the truck to be towed away (well, I'd have to get a set of junk rims/tires, but that's easy) for that amount of money. BTW, the truck DOES move under it's own power. I had to move it from where it was hit in the road to the side of the road, and it moved just fine....I didn't know I wasn't going to be able to drive it home until we saw the tranny leaking. Even if you don't want to fix it, I'm sure you could part this truck out and make $1500+ on it fairly easily. All of the glass is good, running motor, tranny is probably only something minor, good rear end, fresh front suspension, etc. People on an S-series board would eat that up. But I need the money ASAP, and don't have time to be parting it.
