  1. Drive fast and take chances. Screw the po po.
  2. Looking at the wheels in the car, I bet I can fill in the missing parts of the story.........
  3. LT1's have stamped steel rockers. LS1's have roller rockers, but don't have a roller tip for where the rocker contacts the valve.
  4. Looks like we have a fan of body kits and big wings. Care to share yours???
  5. Let's just pray it burns to the ground.......
  6. I've tried w/ non-rollers and it didn't work out at all for me. That said, any vehicle I touch rockers on usually has rollers anyway.
  7. A co-worker of mine (one I rarely talk to), had a latest gen Prelude that was alright other than the Altezza's. He sold/traded it for a full riced out one of the same vintage. From what I've seen of and heard about the car: - Medium blue w/ body kit. Has the stupid front end w/ the really big driving lights; look like huge ralley lights molded into the front fascia - Lowered w/ rims - Fart can - Mandatory stupid aluminum wing - Jackson Racing Supercharger (I could hear it whine when he drove off, so this sounds to be true) - Said to have nitrous on it - Aftermarket seats - Some display hanging off of middle of dash; didn't get a look at the front of it - Big ol' tach on the dash next to the A-pillar The car looks hideous, and sounds just as bad. I was figuring I might be able to squeeze a few bucks out of him (if you know what I mean).....no one at work has seen my Formula, and only a few know about it. Wouldn't mind dragging him to the track and embarassing his ass.....just need to see if the bottle needs cracked open or not. Probably not.
  8. Some people go as far as 3/4 of a turn for pre-load, but IMO that's too tight. I've lashed mine a number of times, and some other fellow F-body's; I tend to use between a 1/4 and 1/2 turn. If you have roller rockers, you can do it while the motor is running. I've done it both ways w/ equal success.
  9. I have the A/C setup out of my 4th Gen, which I have been told works in a 3rd Gen as well. About $700 in parts if purchased new.
  10. He's wrecked one of those too, remember??
  11. Or ask about my dad's 93 GMC Safari. Untouched original auto tranny and motor, I think she is on 290k miles now. Biggest expense, fuel pump. Or my dad's 84 S-10. It finally died at 300k miles, body rusted away to nothing (it went through a lot of work use). Original tranny, motor, CLUTCH, etc. Had the rear-end go out in the 200 something k miles due to never changing the fluid (fluid in tranny still original). Regular oil changes are about the only thing this beast has ever gotten). My roomate's 94 Mustang GT. Has a few bolt on's. I think it's at 185k miles right now. He bought it at 90k. So far he's done a U-joint, waterpump, tie rod end, and that's about it, other than normal wear items on any car, like brake pads. Whoopie. Very inexpensive, easy to do items. That car still runs SOLID, and is his very dependable daily driver. Original tranny, rear, motor, and he's never done the clutch in it, so that has at least 100k on it, if not much more. Do you need more examples. These are all cars of people CLOSE TO ME, not some douche bag across the country over the internet. I can't use my Formula as an example, simply because it is far too modded. My Blazer was a badly abused hunk when I bought it, so that had problems. My Jimmy has been great. My CRX I had was a piece (and this was an 86 I bought in 95). That car loved to suck down parts, especially for me not putting that many miles on it. Just because you hear some reputation about Honduh's being these great, long lasting cars doesn't mean it's true. My mom's 95 Civic she bought brand new. Has maybe 70k on it now, and is driven VERY easy. Both CV joints have died. Both battery terminals have required replacement. Exhaust rusted apart. Paint faded badly (except for where it was repainted from being keyed), even though it has spent some of its life garaged. Not to mention needing the full slew of general maintance items (brakes, tires, batteries, etc.). I'm not saying this is a bad reputation, and nothing really serious has went on it, but it sure isn't some bulletproof car.
  12. I believe it should be: DEH-P9300 Item from Pioneer Website Tends to retail new online for about $280-350 + shipping. It's similar to my Premier DEH-P630 except has the steering wheel remote instead of the car remote, a little bit better EQ, more display options, and voice command ability. I like my head unit, and had the Premier 930 been a better price at the time, that's what I would have bought (the Premiers tend to have an extra feature or two over the similar model number Pioneers for the same price). Overall, it's a good HU, and was online retailing in the $450-500 range when it was the current model.
  13. I'd still bang the bottom out of that. And REPOST!!!!!
  14. Being the cable guy, I get to work in the bad parts of town (luckily it's pretty rare for me, usually I'm in the expensive homes). Champion is a hole, but I'm not scared there during the day, unless doing cable disconnects (for obvious reasons, but I don't have to do that anymore). I've never been given any crap by anyone there. Most of the homes are total crap-holes, yet I'm usually treated pretty well. That said, I wouldn't DARE be there at night, and I've been in a couple apt. complexes that heavy drug use is known for.
  15. But I thought Apples were perfect and didn't break. I think it's a sign to ditch the Apple for something else.
  16. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA **choking laughing** HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Man, talk about someone falling for some marketing bullshit. Tell that to the little stock Honduh motor in my garage w/ a big hole in the block. Or the motor swap we did on my roomate's old Accord not too long ago where the cam seized in the motor.....then the NEXT motor only lasted 2 months (lower mileage longblock). Or the fact they rust like nothing else. Let's not forget that half of them are made w/ paper thin metal, and breathing on the wrong will ding them.....nice.

They are alright. I bought their first CD based off of the single for it; but most of the CD was just too mellow.
  18. Also download from download.com Spybot - Search and Destroy. Run the updates on that. It can usually catch a few things Ad Aware won't.
  19. TREV Posting... Zaino is expensive, and a bit inconvenient to get your hands on, but Joe is right....Zaino is amazing. Seans formula, Adams TA and My 30th Anniv TA look amazing with it. And it just needs a gloss enhancer to bring back the luster... it is quick and easy. And they are not lying when they say, the more coats, the deeper the shine. I could tell the diff between two coats and i have a white car. it also puts a protective barrier on a car like i have never seen before. Excellent stuff, but probably only worth it to folks as anal about our cars as we are.
  20. THIS IS TREVOR POSTING::::: I have meet the guy. he has several and does have the dealership. has a rare colored daytona. It is almost a vomite brown/green with and orangish red stripe and wing. has painted rims and dog dish hubcaps. This weekend will definitely be a fun time to own a True American Muscle car, especially over here on brice road.
  21. Go take a look at Blackbird 99 T/A's car (4 year old black car with no swirl marks) and tell me Zaino isn't worth the money. Or Trevor's new car. Zaino is awesome, it just costs a lot and is time consuming.
  22. Man, talk about a bunch of dickheads on that site, geesh. And they thought the Viper sounded better passing by??!!! graemlins/puke.gif
  23. But look how many Hondas are on here and around here w/ motor swaps that can't even go faster than mid-14's. So your theory from the start is tainted, and most of those have more than 4k into them. Why waste money on a freaking econo-box that just isn't a good basis for a performance car. Yes, you can make anything fast, but that doesn't mean it is worth making fast. Of course you hear the "I want a challenge" excuse. Usually by the people who have never had a fast car = making a car w/ potential fast would also be a challenge, and a more realistic one at that. I don't think anyone is giving props for someone picking up a 305 (and honestly, those have more mod potential than a freaking Civic, and can be made pretty quick if the right combo of mods are done). Of course, the car sporting a 305 is also a good performance base to swap a motor into. Economy cars are built for economy. Performance car are built for....do I need to answer that?
  24. Cobra was mid 90's in the MPH range. Guess they all run that, right??? And WTF does the GTO being a NICER car than the Mustang have to do w/ it's looks? I don't recall mentioning its looks anywhere.
