  1. And for a democrat to touch one of those icky-poo guns. HORRORS! Too bad she wasn't present, there's an outside chance it might have driven some damn sense through her bliss-ninny skull. Failing that, a JHP would have been okay.....
  2. Looks like a "last-ditch" type 38 Arisaka to me, but the early sight is odd. The "last ditch" rifles are some of the worst rifles ever made, ABSOLUTELY under NO circumstances should you fire this rifle, reduced pressure charges aren't safe either. Basically, in 1945 the Japanese government KNEW that sooner or later, America would have to invade the Home Islands to end the war. Their principal arsenals were high on the target list, so they dispersed their armament manufacturers. Basically, if you had a shop with any metal working tools, you got put to work making rifles, pistols, or machine guns. You can imagine the results when people who have never even held, let alone USED a rifle, suddenly have to MAKE one. Substandard steel, hand-filing instead of machining, tolerances along the lines of "Eh, looks close, toss it in the crate!"....
  3. The universe just became 3% less bad-ass mo-fo'd. I'll bet St. Peter had expected Evel to arrive with a bit more, you know, VELOCITY....
  4. Dunno why there were so many, probably turkey day related. Didn't see a single one Friday or Saturday. It was crazy. If you started from 0mph at one cop car, you wouldn't have had TIME to get to 65 before you passed the next one.
  5. Music Man on High Street. They did good work when I broke a Pioneer sub's tinsel lead. Took a little while to get it back, but they get my endorsement.
  6. Literally. Good God, I haven't seen this many cops since the last 20 minutes of "The Blues Brothers". It's a little surprising one of them hasn't pulled another cop over, they've gotta be getting bored waiting for somebody to crack 66mph.
  7. I've had friends do it on various rifles, they all seemed to be happy with the durability aspect. None of them did anything beyond a simple matte black though. Me, personally...I'd rather spend the money on either better parts, or another rifle altogether.
  8. All I can say is that Jose Feliciano must be killed now, before he can sing again.
  9. Now that is different! Not what I'd do, but it's certainly neat the way he did the car.
  10. Besides the obvious visual appeal, the same section width and ratio tire (i.e 325/35, for example) will have a slightly larger contact patch on a larger rim. A 325/35R19 has a larger contact patch than a 325/35R18, and so on. BTW it's a LONGER patch, not a wider one.
  11. If it's Russian, it'll use the .51 round (more properly, the 12.7x107) which is a heavier and faster round than the BMG. The gun system itself has NOTHING to do with John Browning's design, either.
  12. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FySEPsr3jeE Holy FUCK!!! The fake guns are dumb, but.....

    $900,000

I gotta admit, the fact that I've NEVER gotten even one scam email (and yes, I do check my spam folder weekly) is kind of annoying me. I'm actually feeling a little left out.
  14. I've called the DUI number a few times. They usually get a cruiser on them within 10 minutes. I've also called 911 on a car trying to run another vehicle off the road. They transferred me to "Property Code Enforcment" halfway through my second sentence. (BTW the conversation was, "I'm on 70 right at Miller/Kelton, there's a car in front of me trying to run a truck off the road. He's hit him twice now and...hello? Hello?") I was calling again when they both whipped off onto Alum Creek. BTW it turns out Property Code Enforcement doesn't answer their phone at 1:30 A.M. either.
  15. Decreasing radius, sight reverse camber on the high side, on loose gravel, with no view of the tue corner exit, but a gap in the trees that LOOKS like where the road goes. Throw in the amateur and club drivers, and you'll get a lot of offs with a corner like that.
  16. The medical term is prolapse of the rectum, more commonly referred to as "EEEwwww." That chick has just all kinds of problems, both mental and physical.
  17. 14. Dunno how, I wasn't looking for anything in particular, the GT5 pics just don't look right to me somehow. Maybe it's the lighting, or reflections, or who knows what. Some of them are obvious though. The one with the Audi I got because I recognized the picture itself of the real car.
  18. Ah, ya gotta love the Japanese....

    Owned!

Next time, he ain't gonna run. Because he won't be using a foot shifter. Or running. Gotta love the permanent injury to a vehicle thief.
  20. Black suede primer and red steelies with whitewalls. Drop the nose about 1.5 to 2 inches, the back just a little. I know everyone wants you to do a motor swap, but keep the flat-six, and maybe see if you can find one of the 4-carb manifolds. That junkyard near the tracks on Williams Rd had one, it was in a Corvan of all things! Dunno if it's still there, but I doubt it. There are a ton of parts out there if you search hard enough.
  21. Looks like ass, but I wonder what it does for the top end?
  22. The oddball air pressure only applies to the first generation cars, up until 64 or 65. It was something that GM came up with to combat the tendency of the rear swing arms to tuck under in sustained hard turns. BTW Nader was a dingbat, at the time he wrote "Unsafe at Any Speed" he owned a Mercedes that used the EXACT same type of rear swing arm suspension, but was even more prone to tucking due to its higher center of gravity. VW used the same thing, Pontiac was exploring it for use in the Tempest, and most live axles used thin leaf springs that wrapped over in hard corners, causing the inner tire to rise suddenly.
  23. Do NOT, repeat NOT, touch that paint! The only thing you could do to make that car any better looking is to install some old Cragar rims, the 60s style 5-spokers, on the rear with steelies up front.
  24. I've seen that kind of clutch wear before, albeit not on a LSx anything. That looks like somebody has been leaving their foot on the clutch pedal, causing a tiny amount of slip. Just the littlest amount of pressure will do it, most people don't even realize they are touching the pedal. Dunno if that's the case with you, but maybe the previous owner did it.
  25. I tried the original version of the Sigma out back when they came out, and I frankly hated the thing. The DA trigger was absolutely horrible, literally 3/4 of totally slack travel, and then 10+lbs of draw with no feel whatsoever. Now the revised version is worlds better, but I still wouldn't really want one myself. BTW those Wilsons are TITS! Absolutely accurate, just no doubt about where the round is going. Probably don't even need to have sights on the things, just look, point, and make a hole in it.
