  1. In a way, I look at contact of intelligent alien life as a GREAT WAY of rethinking our faith and belief in the afterlife...isn't that what religion is rooted in anyway? That belief in the divine will favor us eternal consciousness? Until I'm shown irrefutable evidence AGAINST a monotheistic belief structure, I'm proud to be behind both Judeo-Christianity and SETI.
  2. Well said. Growing up Roman Catholic, I distinctly remember hearing on the news (I remember going to a Boy Scout troop meeting in fact ) that the Pope had officially declared that it's OK to be Catholic with a biblical belief system and still acknowledge the potential for alien life. That would've been in the 1990s? I think it was Pope John Paul II? Then, in high school NASA announced that they found evidence of microbial life from Mars on a meteorite. There's undoubtedly life out there. Now...in the grand, GRAND scheme of the Universe, having the ability to detect signs of intelligent life AND re-communicate - let alone visit - said civilization are mathematically like hitting a bullet with another bullet while riding on a horse.
  3. ...and I was afraid that global warming had affected CR's ability to shittalk during the winters. Subscribed.
  4. So....many of us love Roadkill and other MT shows. I just finished Finnegan and Freiburger's latest Roadkill Extra talking about season 7. I'm looking at Junkyard Gold, and also thinking about the need YouTube has made to further monetize their content channel...should I shelve my cheapness and subscribe to MTOD? I feel if I hold out, something else will take it's place or Discovery will find a way to plug their content into Netflix or something. Curious as to how many of CR's folk are paying for Motor Trend On-Demand?
  5. I got a Nano a few Christmases ago and it's been a hell of an indoor toy. It's taken a licking and keeps on ticking.
  6. Smart move. Any of you guys talking 500%+ gainz REALLY need to take your original investments out and let the rest ride.
  7. For anyone who jacks a Jeep up 6" over stock just to cruise a mall or traverse 2" of snow on the highway, PLEASE don't give me any crap over the usefulness of a Street-setup for a Jeep Wrangler. I love the uniqueness of this sort of arrangement, and it's still a set of wheels/tires away from dealing with 99% of what normal Wrangler drivers deal with in their lives! http://www.hotrod.com/articles/meet-cone-killing-jeep-hot-rod-power-tour-2017/
  8. Thank you. That video did more for helping my understanding of Net Neutrality than Kerry’s interpretations of the law ever will.
  9. My only concerns would be lack of the rear wing (is it there somewhere?) and the rust you can see on the inner rocker when both doors are opened...
  10. Curious what Rustlestiltskin would say...PP's owned some good cars in his day!
  11. I miss my Suzuki Samurai. Seriously, back in the '90s you could get a Sidekick/Tracker, Isuzu Amigo, 1st-gen Kia Sportage or Toyota RAV4, even a Daihatsu Rocky to combat the sea of grumbly YJ Wranglers. But the Samurai was the best little Japanese 4x4. I loved that thing.
  12. This sounds silly, but I don't like putting "H8" on any license plate. Someone might think something about what "SWRLS" and get all pissed off. As a man where his wife's Odyssey was keyed for having a "Women For Mitt" sticker on it, I'm against ANY message that alienates part of society.
  13. I've got a Philly trip coming up in the 120k-mile Odyssey...I'm thinking that some SeaFoam before running can't hurt!
  14. Did you do the whole SeaFoam treatment, with sucking it in the vacuum line, letting it sit once it's warm? Or just added a can to the fuel tank?
  15. I haven't regularly run fuel treatments since high-school (Suzuki Samurai, baby!). I've had cars from 0-183k miles and - at least for street purposes - dirty injectors have never been a problem provided the car is ran at least occasionally and basic maintenance is up to knick. For the 6.2L N/A Detroit Diesel in my '82 Chevy C20 a few years back, I ran Diesel-Kleen as it really did smooth out the engine and noticably gave it more power. Every once in a while I'd throw a bottle of ISO-HEET in my old gas tee-ruks, especially in the wintertime. If your car is odd enough, or high-performance, where quality of fuel is vitally important, I can see an occasional booster to clean/enhance performance.
  16. Oh man, I just saw Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 on Sunday night and Kurt Russell is driving a sweet Mustang II. Not in the market for this (unless it's got working A/C ) but GLWS! http://www.imcdb.org/i001058310.jpg
  17. Oh shit! Yes...this is real. I’ve had 3 of those tickets in the last several years...$30-45 each I normally park at Columbus Commons though...so most of the time I’m not at a meter. If you park downtown on Sunday, they don’t enforce anything.
  18. PLEASE post these for sale on Facebook. If you post the link here I’ll share it with Ohio Pilots and a few other plane guys!
  19. We've had a lot of discussions in the past on this, but I'll bring it back up. From my first new car (2001 Nissan Maxima) through today, the only vehicles I've owned with front plates were older Cleetus' (cleeti??) where the stamped steel bumpers had a provision for front plates. Corvette, CTS-V, Passat, BMW, Lincoln, LeBaron, etc...never had plates, or as soon as I brought them home I pulled the front mounts off the cars. The only time I've EVER had problems is when I was speeding. Recently, I've been lucky with a string of pull-overs, but my CCW license has gotten me off with warnings - and I'm guilty of no front plate, too-dark window tint, you name it... If you're doing 0-9 over the limit, I would say front plate isn't going to get you.
