I am building a system to retract the sides of a greenhouse. I am using a simple rope/pulley setup but the greenhouse is 48 feet long so I need a few things. I was going to use a shaft suspended in Pillow Blocks with pulleys on to pull the rope up. Weld a bolt to the shaft and use an electric drill or a handle or whatever. But I am having trouble finding round bar stock to use. Any ideas? Remember this thing is 48 feet long so 36" pieces found at lowes or home depot won't cut it. I would like 8 foot min. I can get pillow blocks at Roush Hardware, pulleys at TSC but I have no idea where to buy things like Box Channel or round bar stock.

I can probably fix it, I learned to solder when I was a navy Sonar Tech. But there is nothing like fixing it yourself, soldering is pretty easy.
