Advice: When a tiger is looking at you licking it's lips; RUN LIKE A MOTHERFER!!! Other than that, nice shots. Are you shooting raw or jpeg? And auto-wb or manual? The tiger shots could be improved with a warmer wb, in my opinion. It would take down the 'shot on a shitty ohio day' feel. It definitely works for the wolf, though.

I got sick a few days before newyear, and am nearly over it. My secret? Lots of those little Halls defense cough drops, the occasional Ricola, multivitamins, juice, fiber, and most importantly, activity as usual. The more active I am the quicker it gets flushed out of my system.

Sony decided that the best way to reward their paying customers who wanted to listen to their Sony produced audio CDs on their PCs was to install a 'rootkit' which is essentially a hacking tool used to undermine the security of your OS for an unknown purpose. The alleged purpose was to restrict the ability of the PC to rip audio from the disc, but the actual purpose could have been *anything*. This is what they consider legitimate business practice, as a content producer. Just think of what will happen when they are near-exclusive content AND hardware producers... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2005_Sony_BMG_CD_copy_protection_scandal

You guys were wrong; http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/dc409afa-bd75-11dc-b7e6-0000779fd2ac.html *now* it's over. Cliffs: Paramount is preparing to drop HD-DVD, and given their close relationship with Dreamworks, they both may go to Blu-Ray very soon. I for one welcome our new Rootkit-installing, Gran Turismo 5 publishing overlords.

Since there are two certanties, 1; there will never be an end to the Ron Paul debate, and 2; he will never get elected president: I have a question for you all. Why did he divest from the GOP, and was it good or bad for his career as presidential hopeful? Personally I think he has a lot of good ideas, and I would have had more respect for him if he committed to being a reform Republican and his policies were based on fixing what's wrong with the current system. His hypothesis that we need to trash all of our internal and external organizations in order for the country to move forward is both batshiat crazy, and the reason he has no chance at getting elected.

There's a certain point where it probably makes more sense just to get a projector and screen. Not sure, but 73" might just be that point.

I will never buy a DLP for the sole reason that I want that stupid little girl in those commercials to be out of work. Mirrors are for shaving, crystals are for TV watching I break it down like this: Plasmas are better for movie watching (higher contrast), but consume a lot more energy, weigh a lot more (harder to hang on a wall), and have less resolution for the $. The huge Olevia at Sam's is only 720p if i recall, which is OK if you're going to be 20' away at all times but when you get up close its cheapness will reveal itself. They also have a tendency to deplete certain colors over time (like green) and will eventually wear out, the cheaper ones MUCH faster.

Is that strictly for RR customers? My company is on TW telecom and the page shows 403 forbidden. I'll have to try it tonight from home.

It depends on your insurance but it may be worth it to ask. Most companies have a grace period of a certain length, whereby if you are a customer in good standing for long enough you can have an accident and not face a premium increase. An old boss of mine totalled a Jeep in the snow and didn't pay anything more to get it fixed, thanks to this.

Easy, make a RFID-proof wallet. The problem isn't that the RFID chip is in there, it's that the purpose is to 'scan' them from some distance to tell who you are instantly and silently. Mag stripes have been in cards a LONG time, and they don't pose a threat since the only way to read them is to physically swipe the ID. RFID capability in the card isn't the problem, it's what they want to do with the readers that you should be worried about.

Don't forget, that if you use it to store files, you better not plan on editing them! See this article for how well 'home server' handles your priceless photos. http://www.computerworld.com/action/article.do?command=viewArticleBasic&articleId=9054178

Do they usually have good deals on ammo at these shows? I have heard that you can find good prices at shows, but then again do I really want to be running some random guy's reloads through my pistols? Oh and LOL at the 460XVR survival kit, I like how it comes with that 'when bears attack' book. Perfect reading for when you get stranded in the middle of nowhere! In all reality, the full size 460 XVR is an ideal self defense gun for anyone, since the mere sight of it will likely cause a perp to lose control of his bowels. Inquiring about his current feelings of luck will probably cause him to drop dead from sheer terror.

Am I the only one annoyed that the posted text didn't include any way to tell who said what once you got past the very first line? Hell if I'm going to read that hour and a half long snooze fest, this one is going in the fail pail.

This is the point. The numbers will NEVER be accurate, if you subscribe to a voluntary voting process, especially one based on the internet, spread with the help of forum-dwellers. Don't cry about how Ron Paul is the man because 'the internet says so'. He is a fringe candidate, plain and simple. No amount of polling will overcome this fact. Statistically accurate surveys bear this out, and this is why we don't use the internet to vote!
-
This sums up your experiment. Unless YOU go out in search of RANDOM people (which is what any good polling service does) then your data is from voluntary participants, and is biased. Just because you "posted this to a bunch of forums and anyone can vote if they want" doesn't make it scientific in ANY way. It is an interesting sample of forum-participating internet folk, but it is nowhere NEAR a true cross-section of the voting public. Sorry to burst your bubble.

This is an even better read: http://www.misunderstooduniverse.com/Global_Warming_Problems.htm If you think this site has actual facts on it, I have an encyclopedia to sell you...

How many Five year olds could you take in a fight?

It's easy, just pick up one and use him/her to beat back the rest. That way you only have one biting you at a time. -
Does anyone else end up with like 3 line items for additional services? The only thing I use now is one standard definition DVR, but theres a 'digital converter device', 'digital subscriber box' and 'dvr device' line items for like 7 or 8 dollars a month each. Am I getting taken? Can't I just pay for the DVR? I took over the cable service as-is from another person in the house who moved out, so it was invisible to me until now.

Solid metal skillet, none of that pussy non-stick crap. Little bit of olive oil, salt and pepper to taste on the raw steak. Get pan hot, have lid ready. Apply steak, put on lid, let 1 minute go by. There will be smoke, it should stay under the lid. Flip steak, replace lid, turn off burner, let 2 minutes go by. This is where the quality of the pan you are using comes into play. If it's a good pan, you should still hear sizzle after 2 minutes. If so, it's done, eat up! If not, you may have to apply some more heat, your pan pussied out. This should result in a 'rare' steak, cut of meat, pan, heat of stove can vary cook time. You can also deglaze the pan afterward, and make gravy if that's your thing. Edit for the naysayers: Sufficient skill and a good pan will result in a steak that is in every way as good as one from a grill. Open flame is a myth perpetuated by grill companies. Don't believe the hype!

That's the estimated distance from your internet provider's gateway, to the test server in Cincinnati. There are other servers, try picking a different one from the map.

I only watched about 20 seconds of it, but is it Laguna Seca? I like how the camera whites out as the car approaches the speed of light. That's some serious power!!!

I've checked them out a few times and gone in to look, and am consistently unimpressed by the selection. They sell cars with little or no warranty, often with a lot of miles, for what amounts to too much money IMO. If you find a nice car there, don't hesitate cause they apparently are gone in no time.

That's pretty messed up, what a lousy way to go. That being said, this is a good example of why paying attention and driving defensively can save lives, if the supra driver had managed to get his car swerved enough to avoid a completely head-on collision he would have stood a much better chance at surviving. When you play chicken, the last one to swerve is either stupid or dead (or both).
