You said $25,000 of the principal was paid down in 24 months, remember? (math mine for emphasis) Thats 1041 a month to the principal, plus the 1325 which is a month's worth of interest that you owe the bank for the privilege of borrowing that much money. This is what a typical 15 year mortgage will be at current interest rates, a total of $2300 a month. Note that this is before taxes and insurance, the bill from the bank will probably be closer to $2700/mo depending on the locality. If you didn't mean to say that, then you should rethink your math. You can't borrow money without paying it back.

Um they are? See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Bunyan_Trophy. What I want to know is wtf do I say to the Penn State fans I know. It's just like wow, you didn't lose as bad as Notre Dame but you did lose to the team that got bitch-slapped by a community college. Awkward silence...

So, you are putting down $1041 in principal every month plus the $1325 a month for interest at 6% apr... If you can afford a $2366 house payment I am not worried about you. Nope. Not one bit.

That's the take-home message. If you have an income, coverage for disaster (via insurance or otherwise) and have a plan for managing your finances, you should not think of yourself as in debt just because you borrowed money to be where you are. You are only truly in debt when you can't afford to pay it back. And I might add, if it weren't for borrowers, saving money would be pointless. Of course, the opposite is true but the point is that you can NOT have one without the other.

To anyone in doubt about the benevolence of the coming Alien occupation, I have a copy of 'To Serve Man' for you to leaf through as you get ready for the big day.

That picture is an obvious fake. NOTHING escapes Master Chief...

I hear this all the time and no offense, but it's a rather ignorant view on economics. You are in debt if your assets don't outweigh your liabilities. If you have a 100k mortgage on a 110k house, you are NOT 100k in debt; you have 10k in net assets. Conversely, if you borrowed 20k to buy a car that can only be resold for 15k, you are 5k in debt. Of course, it's not that simple when you consider the cost of borrowing, taxes, fluctuating market prices, etc. but you either need to see the whole picture or you need to pay someone else to do it for you. It irks me when this sort of thing comes up, since I am apparently the only one who paid attention in finance class!

Looks like Anthony is starting college 40% ahead...

This is an 'ad hominem' fallacy. GET IT!! HOMOnem! No, seriously. If someone were born with a genetic mutation in sexual behavior, it would not necessitate their concerned organs be removed. Remember, evolution happens one byte at a time. Saying 'you have x organ so you should know how to use it' is an ad hominem attack on gays. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Oh, and back to the topic at hand. If I were looking for a bachelors AND graduate degree, I would probably steer away from Devry. As many have said, credits don't transfer and you may find yourself better off in a MBA program at a different school, and if so you will be SOL. -
Has that guy been on a bike before? He had exactly none of his weight on the front fork. What does he think is going to happen when he starts to accelerate and all thats stopping him is that thin little front tire?

Best thing I saw in a while, although it blocked traffic on 270 for about half an hour: A guy's work van went up in flames, by the time I drove past FD was already there trying to put it out. The driver? Standing no more than 10' away from the flaming wreckage, smoking a cigarette. If I only had a camera...

Not to threadcrap or anything, but what are the details of this situation? Details are everything. When you finance a vehicle, the title is in your name and you get a copy of it, but you don't get an actual title until the loan is paid in full. They still own your vehicle until you're done paying for it, plain and simple. Did they not deliver the bike? That's a different problem altogether.

I would go back in time, and I would take state! /obscure? p.s. I would also regain my ability to throw a pigskin a quarter mile.
-
I would go back in time and rob a bank, then return to the future since they can't chase me. I would, of course, also make time travel impossible for anyone else, in case any of you gets the bright idea to go back in time and rat me out! See, I think of everything.

Pulling the trigger is 'use of deadly force' no matter where the gun is aimed or what you hit. This can get you into a shitty situation if you shoot the guy in the leg as he runs out of your house. Plus, there are plenty good odds that the fucker runs into the woods and dies of blood loss, and then you're just as screwed. If you shoot someone, it had better be square in the chest, at close range, and there better not be any witnesses that suggest he wasn't directly threatening your life... At least that's what they say, as for me I pray my pistols and training will only ever be a deterrent. Where is this shop, anyway? I would guess either cleveland ave or West broad somewhere in the Sullivant area. And the police wouldn't do anything to help even though it's obvious the thieves are hitting it on a predictable basis?

They sure tax us enough, Hilliard schools should be in the Ivy League or some crap. Overcrowding is definitely going to be a problem since there are so many 'first home buyers' aka new parents moving to Hilliard to escape the urban blight of Columbus. Up until recently Hilliard schools were very well regarded (ask any Realtor) but the demographics in the area are changing quick and we may not have that distinction for very long.

That's weird. He didn't try slashing his nose... Too soon? Sorry, my mind is Farked. He's a funny guy, hope he recovers.

Don't forget that in almost all cases business owners are actually property lessees, they lease the building and don't have any special rights to the parking lot. In cases like Iron Pony they either actually own the property, or they have enough pull with their landlord to get their way. Either way, make sure you know who actually owns the parking lot you're in before you do something that someone might get pissed off about.

What is IEEE 802.1X Terminology??? it it good to have enabled
jeffmeden replied to CJINOHIO03's topic in Dumpster
There are absolutely trade-offs and saying 'use WPA2 in every situation' just doesn't work. Try setting a WPA2 login on a TiVo, and you will realize that not all networks support it in the first place. In a perfect world we would all be using quantum encryption for downloading pr0n and sending stupid joke emails, but reality is much different (the pr0n and jokes stay the same, sadly)... -

He's still young. And it's true that theres an obvious trade-off, if someone wants to go to the (minimal) effort of cracking wep they can, or they can move down the street and get the fully open access point, or they can break your door down and just steal your computer. It's all about what you're protecting; you aren't hiding something that mr big brother should know about... Are you? -

If you don't want to mess with it, leave it off. It's an authentication mechanism that requires specific configuration, and is usually only used in large scale networks. WEP is an OK first line of defense, if your clients support it you probably want WPA or WPA2 though, since it's not as easy to crack. MAC filtering is another popular protection if your router supports it. -
+1 for the XD .45, if you can't put the threat down with 14 rounds of 230gr JHP, no gun will help you! As for the Sigma, yes it's basically a cheap Glock, and don't beat yourself up when your groups aren't that good. It's not a precise gun, the trigger is long and stiff.

Downshifting is a bitch in the rain, that's the only thing that I worry about. I am too far into the habit of engine breaking as much as possible, I have to rethink the whole time as I ride on wet roads. Other than that, riding dry is for pussies!

Thumbs down for the larger V6... who buys a Honda wanting a torque monster? I would only check out the 4 cyl version, with gas prices are on the rise again. IMO the 3.0L was the ideal balance between economy and power, that 3.5L is probably lucky to get 25MPG.

The S5 IS is the latest from Canon in the high-fidelity point and shoot category. If you don't mind carrying a larger camera (definitely not pocket sized) it will take stellar pictures, second only to a full DSLR that would cost two or three times as much. http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canons5is/

It sucks, doesn't it, that even the pro-war news outlet is having a hard time spinning this to make the US look good...
