  1. So what exactly was he going WOT in the parking lot for? Yeah....he threw a temper-tantrum, peeled out, and smacked the building. The Deputy had probably been miffed since Toyota got into left-turn-only motorsports, so...
  2. My 11th grade English Lit teacher had one of those monotone voices, no emotion or expression in it at all. Plus she always picked the MOST boring pieces of stories to read out loud. The class was right after lunch, the room was ALWAYS hot.....people were falling asleep right and left. She would roam up and down the aisle, just waiting for someone to nod off, and then she would take that huge thick teacher's edition book, raise it high above her head, and SMASH it on the desk right in front of the sleeper. Goddamn thing sounded like a bomb going off every time, plus the desks were light so the shockwave would bounce your arms into your chin.....
  3. And each of those Magnetos is sending 44amps to the plugs...whose electrodes are vaporized to stubs in the first 1.25-1.5 seconds of the run.
  4. Fuck Mitchell. Their shit is scrubbed and restamped. No originality whatsoever. And HIDEOUSLY over-priced.
  5. http://forums.gunboards.com http://www.surplusrifle.com are places to start for more information.
  6. WOW, it's like 1991 all over again...God, I can remember when doing that with a mini was the absolute livin' end. Wonder what they did with the Enkei 5-stars or Hammers?
  7. Fuck...I had to stop the slideshow every 5 or 6 shots to look away for a bit. Some of those cars are gone, no way to bring them back.
  8. Jeebus, those ports look like they would require a Coast Guard cutter.....
  9. Quoted for muchness of veracity...and we all just noticed the MASSIVE spike in the selling price of every 1977 GMC van on ebaymotors.
  10. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/b/b7/1971_Dodge_Polara_Station_Wagon_1ff.jpg/800px-1971_Dodge_Polara_Station_Wagon_1ff.jpg
  11. I've heard of old-school small-cube small-block Fords turning 10k in drag applications. 260s and 289s, and de-stroked versions of those motors. And there are bunches of land-speed cars turning massive RPMs due to tire size limits (well, availability rather than size limit, really.) And of course there's Formula 1, with motors that can touch on 20k, but those are not EXACTLY a street motor, being constructed of pure money...
  12. My mini-van HAS handled a jump like that better.
  13. How long until the lightsaber sound-dub?
  14. The engines are sold as-is, where-is. You gotta transport it yourself, and GOOD luck with that. The shuttle 'price', on the other hand, is the estimated cost of transporting the orbiter to an approved airport by 747 Shuttle Carrier, then by truck to the museum after disassembly. And, while the actual airframe is donated for museum use, it is still OWNED by NASA, just like gate guard aircraft.
  15. Um, PLEASE use the word "Snap-cap" in clarifying how you practiced this..... What is the point of rendering a defensive weapon less usable in an emergency?
  16. "Ontogeny recapitulates phylogeny"....I'm showin' off my book larnin' tonight! Quick check of the search function: I'm not the first to show of their book larnin' here. Wow.
  17. I always liked New Albany. I stopped going about a year or so ago, got to be too much of a wait for a lane during the evening.
  18. Okay, now THAT is spooky. I was just about to post EXACTLY that name, in EXACTLY that way....capitalized the same, punctuated the same.....even the blank line.....had it all typed up, ready to post, decided to check everybodies responses.....FREAKY.
  19. Second verse, same as the first..... We got some at work on Friday, I can't tell the difference at all. Still has spaghetti sauce, still too doughy, greasy pepperoni with no spice at all, and delivered 30 minutes later than they said.
  20. What really rubs me raw is that the NBA is fining the guys who laughed at his "gun salute".
  21. The Thompson is an SMG, not a carbine. It's a close-in weapon, not a distance shooter. And original Tommies are $$$$, while the repros are usually pretty crappy. My vote would be for an SKS, preferably a Yugo. Accuracy is better than an AK, parts and pieces are EASY to find, and they are lighter and handier than an AK. Reliability is arguably a toss-up. If you aren't married to the idea of a semi-auto, you might want to think about a lever-action in .357 or .44. With the proper loading, they've got the range and the hitting power.
  22. Just want to point out one little thing: wanting other drivers to venture outside of their skill envelope is probably not a good idea. Accept that they can't manage, get around them when you can, and be glad they didn't actually hit your car this time. You can't make stupid people into intelligent ones, trying merely adds you to the ranks...
  23. Not surprised the value dropped, now if it had been CAL Ripken... I dropped out of baseball cards when it became obvious the '94 strike was going to end the season early. Between that and all the "buy in bulk lots" ads in Beckett, it was REALLY obvious the market was going to crash out.
  24. OP...her nose is bigger than the scope. Probably not a real girl scout either...wait, why the hell does that matter to me?
