  1. The problem with (apparently, from stuff in the thread) mostly 80s baseball cards is that nobody actually BUYS them. Sure, they may have a value listed in Beckett, but those are STICKER prices (from certain shops), not actual selling prices. Outside of a few of the best players rookie cards and certain error cards (the 87 Fleer Billy Ripken 'Fuck Face' card...), there just isn't a market for them.
  2. http://www.gunbroker.com has a feature that allows you to search for FFLs by zip code. There aren't many in central Ohio, Jim Karnes won't sign for the paperwork.
  3. Well, for insurance purposes, maybe. Still, finding any running/driving BMW for under 2k is unusual. I'd take the settlement, buy it back and fix it. Assuming you actually LIKE the car enough to never really be able to sell it, that is! (due to salvage title.)
  4. They do have good prices, but remember that you'll need to do a transfer through an FFL, and that'll add to the cost.
  5. Don't use any chemical paint or chrome remover without testing it first on some of the molding sprues. For instance, red plastic from Revell doesn't react well with Simple Green, you end up with something that looks like the "5 minutes later" portion of a squirtgun fight between gremlins...
  6. Drive to Block's. Purchase dozen egg bagels. Win!
  7. Local is only good for NPR News (Well, WCBE does have some interesting stuff on fairly often) and of course CD101. The rest of FM is a wasteland of crap "product" songs and commercials. AM is dittoheads and jabberjaws, with a leavening of holy-rollers. Come to think of it, I've had five head units in three cars in the last four or five years that I have NO idea what the AM reception is like. Honestly, most days I'd rather listen to my squealing fan belt than local radio.
  8. Bell-Tech made some serious road course springs for the old Dime in the early 90s. There were plans to start a sport-truck based autocross series within the SCCA, and several of the aftermarket makers were turning out some good stuff for a while. Saleen had stuff for the boxy Ranger and the later ones, Shelby had turn-key Dakotas (not really all that sporty, but headed that way), Toyota and Nissan both had parts for racing trucks.....the stuff is out there, just gotta find it.
  9. "*Noun* will *verb*".....the mark of excellence!
  10. Nope, that's the RACE....pre-direct drive and slipper-clutches, with 2-speed Powerglides, and the tire technology wasn't even close to what it is now, so the top classes would spin the tires off the line simply because the tires COULDN'T hook up until they shifted into High. They did have boxes, but that was merely to get the stuck-on debris off the tire surface, the rubber at the time didn't get much stickier when heated like today. Awesome film. (not VIDEO, garg it annoys me when people do that) Dragway 42 sure hasn't changed much since then, it appears.
  11. That. Is. AWESOME. Bet the coyote is off somewhere plotting his revenge even now. Falling Anvil? Dynamite? Spring driven bear trap? Oh, they'll find out "how" in due course, but the certainty is, there will be a reckoning.....
  12. Here's mine: http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y181/smdalton/DSC00223.jpg 1984 Daytona from Radio Shack. It tops out at about 3mph, downhill with a tailwind. It does NOT do jumps, mainly because it is so slow that what happens after leaving the edge of the ramp can only be described by the word, "PLUMMET." But it does have sentimental value, and is oddly fun to toddle about on tile floors.
  13. Fuck burger king. I hate them so much, I won't even use the .0001 calories worth of energy needed to stretch my pinkie finger to the shift key to capitalize their trademarked name. Creepy fucking damn commercials. Gimme Wendy's.....redhead chicks in pigtails tickle my special place.
  14. Whoever owns the old AMT Automag design currently, and Mateba...sorta. Neither of those is anywhere near "easily concealable", though.
  15. +1. I love mine. Very comfortable and the build quality is awesome.
  16. There's a guy in Obetz with literally dozens of those 4wd Civics parked behind his house. NO idea why he wants them all.
  17. That cat video went from 100k hits to over 3.4 MILLION in just two days. Incredible, the power of secretaries is. Cute little thing, though.
  18. A friend of mine had a 92 Camaro with a 3.1V6. She didn't change the oil for 3 YEARS, God alone knows how many miles she drove that poor thing during that time. She'd pour in more oil when she thought about it, probably every six months or so. Engine went out, ironically enough, because a seized power steering pump snapped the pulley and nose off the crank. We thought it was savable with a new crank, until it took a prybar and hammer to get the oilpan off. There was literally a TUNNEL inside the pan where the actual oil was running to the pickup through the sludge. It looked just like those diagrams in Earth Sciences class where they taught you how caves are formed in limestone...
  19. Covered side marker/turn signal lights + cop looking for an excuse = even more lose.
  20. Gotta scroll down a little bit. http://www.activeboard.com/forum.spark?aBID=133200&p=3&topicID=32554882
  21. Hobbyland had a couple of the visible motors when I was in there last month. SBC, old Hemi, and a air-cooled VW motor. You can get them on line too.
  22. Who RAPED his mother...Damn, that right there is some FUCKED up shit.
  23. Yeah, I've stopped going to the Ohio shows. '03C&R takes care of what I've got an interest in, and finding it online is MUCH easier.
  24. Plus the gas venting, and the bolt and action working. The only really QUIET weapon I've heard was a suppressed Russian Nagant revolver. It sounded very much like a pellet gun, except for the loud click of the hammer striking the primer.
  25. Oh, I thought they had modified the law to require classroom and range time for non-residents as well. Austin's right though, the Florida and Utah ones cover most of the States that allow CCW. And the ones that aren't covered are States I'm not likely to be in. Florida is the main one I want, if I remember correctly Utah only adds two states to the Ohio and Florida lists, so that could wait. Pennsylvania looks like an alternative too.
